@Nushyboots some people are so judgy aren't they! My Dad's partner has 7 children! Tbh I don't think any number of children is "too much"

@suz2285 they really do!! Like I said that I might ask to be sterilised if I have a C-section because I can't put my body through another pregnancy after this one, because of my diabetes, and the amount of people that have told me "but oh you're so young still" 🙄I mean I haven't made a full on decision yet but yeah!

I want to get one of those like sleep pod/nest things for baby's crib but don't want to pay over £30 really, I've seen loads secondhand but no idea if getting secondhand is a good idea...I don't know if anyone knows what I'm on about 😂 like the sleepyhead pillow things that are like £100 or more brand new 🤯

suz2285 · 04/11/2023 13:43

@Nushyboots that's not greedy at all... how exciting though, a little surprise ❤️

@Brokenpancreas94 well no one calls me young so just appreciate being young 😂😂

tulipsunday · 04/11/2023 14:04

@Brokenpancreas94

The purflo sleep tight baby bed can be used for overnight sleeping according to their research. Is expensive new but good quality second hand ones are a lot cheaper if comfortable to do that. I was umming and ahhing about it as think lullaby trust say nothing in crib is best option but hated co sleeping last time and will be the one doing the nights so think I will try it.

Oh god yeh the comments you get when you do say what you are having can be annoying. Find myself silently raging a bit when I say I am having my second boy as sometimes people look disappointed and I am not sure why. A friend of mine had to have a termination for medical reasons this week which was just devastating and really highlights how a healthy baby is all that matters.

@tulipsunday yeah I'm not sure 🤔I think I'm just worried that he won't sleep at all like my daughter, but she has ASD so that's why she probably never slept and well she still doesn't now! Need to remember that he probably won't be the same as her!

Yeah, people love to judge don't they!!

Faithincats · 04/11/2023 15:28

Hi ladies, can I join you? 8w today exactly.

I had a scan on Thursday which showed a little gummy bear with a heartbeat, and I was measuring two days further along than expected. I'm completely shocked - after three previous losses, no living children, and a lot of pain throughout this pregnancy (thought to be related to my endometriosis), I was absolutely convinced this would be another loss.

My next scan is in 2.5 weeks. How did you get through the time during the early days? Every single day feels like a lifetime 😭

tulipsunday · 05/11/2023 09:40

Welcome @Faithincats great you saw the heartbeat. Every day goes slowly at that point. Only advice I can give is to try and keep busy. Hope the wait till the next scan goes quickly

@Brokenpancreas94 yes hopefully you will get an easier time with sleep second time round. My son was actually quite good for the first few months sleep wise happy to sleep in his and I thought I had got lucky. Then the 4 month regression hit and it was hideous 😂 thankfully they are so cute you forgive them

suz2285 · 05/11/2023 18:03

@Faithincats welcome! Yeah the early days really drag, good sign about the early scan though, hopefully not too long to wait until the next one?

I've been doing mummy dating today, meeting some fellow mums to be from peanut app and at a local mum group, I'm knackered now I've been out basically all day talking 😂 good tho I've made at least a couple of new friends! Hahah

Neelamj · 05/11/2023 18:16

Just catching up on all the messages, so lovely to read about everyone’s journey so far, hoping to be able to get to that stage this time :) tried to keep myself as busy as possible this weekend otherwise im just overthinking about my upcoming scan, just 5 more days now🙈kinda anxious because my clear blue tests progressed slow and now I keep thinking we might not see anything/too small according to dates.
on the plus side I have been ridiculously bloated at some points this week so thats reassuring.

also has anyone ever experienced sharp shooting kind of pain on the lower right or left pelvic area? It just happens randomly and noticed it a couple of times today, whatever it is I will wait till scan day to ask em otherwise il be overthinking that too lol

Hi Neelamj, your pain is probably what I think they call round ligament pain. It is all to do with the stretching ligaments. Think they say it is sharp and on either side like a stitch xx

suz2285 · 05/11/2023 19:20

@Neelamj how far slog will you be for the scan?

Yeah that sounds like early ligament pain, I had the same, sharp pains early on, totally normal 👌

suz2285 · 05/11/2023 19:20

*far along! Not slog 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/11/2023 20:17

@tulipsunday yep she slept well for the first couple of months, then she got ill with a horrible virus which resulted in her having to go to hospital and then her sleep was rubbish ever since 😫

@suz2285 glad today went well!!

@Neelamj yes it will be ligament pain, the joys of pregnancy I had that a lot in the beginning...well tbh I'm still getting it now at 28 weeks 🙈

I am SO moody today, I'm not even sure why, it's like I'm coming on my period that kind of mood 😬

Faithincats · 06/11/2023 06:51

@suz2285 they really do drag! Yep, the next scan is in 2.5 weeks' time, when I should be coming up 11 weeks 🤞 How far along are you?

Very cool that you have been on some peanut BFF dates! And even better you met some people you'd like to meet up with again. Funnily enough I just read a buzzfeed article about making friends on Bumble BFF (didn't know this was a thing!) - not something I'd thought about, but it's definitely something I'll explore down the road, if I make it that far. Neither DP nor I are local to where we live, or work particularly close by, and most of our friends are 1+ hours away, so I think we need to go on some adult friend dates too! 😊

suz2285 · 06/11/2023 07:25

@Faithincats good that it's not too long to
Wait then 🤞 even though 2.5 weeks feels so long at that stage!! I do not miss the first trimester that's for sure

Yeah I've heard of bumble bff! But recommend peanut for sure, it's def nice to meet some people to speak about mum stuff with!

I'm 30 weeks now, flying in now at this stage! Only about 6 weeks left of work! 😳

Neelamj · 06/11/2023 09:15

@Brokenpancreas94 @Longbarn5 @suz2285 thats reassuring to know :)

@suz2285 lol, I should be 7weeks and 2 days according to my last period.

tulipsunday · 07/11/2023 15:29

@suz2285 glad the mum dates went well. Really handy to have a few people you can pass the time with. Due to covid my antenatal group meet ups weren't able to happen often when I had my son but I did meet a girl who I have become v good friends with.

31 week appointment today went well. Heard the heartbeat. Think he is breech still but thankfully lots of time to turn so 🤞he does. Pain behind my ribs has come on and still uncomfortable in inner thigh area so midwife did a referral to physio.

OP posts:
suz2285 · 07/11/2023 15:45

@tulipsunday yeah for sure! Our antenatal classes are still online here so it's hard to meet people! I signed me and husband up for a half day hypnobirth thing in a few weekends time so that'll be good too

Omg I've just started with horrendous hip pain out of the blue today! Hobbling about! I'm booked in to see my normal massage/physio woman tomorrow, but might say to the midwife as I might get a physio referral if it doesn't settle down! Seems to be pgp I think from looking it up! But literally has come on overnight... was fine yesterday!

WhiteHorse92 · 07/11/2023 17:10

Anyone else's baby feel really low down? With my son I always felt movement higher up and had a foot kicking my ribs the entire third trimester. This time the whole pregnancy she's felt really low down and most of the movement feels lower down and some evenings I'm just being constantly headbutted/punched/kicked in the bladder and feels like some nerve there is being pressed. It's starting to get really uncomfortable and annoying, her head must litetally be buried right into my bladder or something 😅🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/11/2023 17:12

@WhiteHorse92 I was the same with my daughter, but the opposite this time round, he is quite high up!

@tulipsunday hopefully he turns round for you!

I have growth scan tomorrow, he was head down last time, hopefully he has stayed that way!

tulipsunday · 07/11/2023 18:29

Hope your scan goes well @Brokenpancreas94

@WhiteHorse92 Most movements I feel are quite high up think that's why I am getting rib pain. Sounds like wherever our babies are it is uncomfortable! Are they spinning around a lot still at 30+weeks?

OP posts:
Brokenpancreas94 · 07/11/2023 18:36

@tulipsunday just had a quick google it says they start turning less from 30 weeks and kick more! But I presume all babies are different and some probably still try 😂🙈

WhiteHorse92 · 07/11/2023 18:37

@Brokenpancreas94 maybe bladder kicking is a girl thing 😂. Last week the midwife told me that 'usually' if they're head down they stay that way 🤞

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/11/2023 18:41

@WhiteHorse92 possibly, although my boy seems to hit my bladder often 😂 but he's defo higher up!
He was head down at the last 3 scans I had so hopefully, I shall see tomorrow, although it won't probably matter for me if I end up having a planned section!

tulipsunday · 07/11/2023 19:46

Interesting. I wondered if he was still turning around lots as the movements high up don't really make sense if he is currently breech. Unless I am feeling a head/fists around my ribs instead of feet 😂 who knows!
