Thank you for this thread. I’m 21 weeks pregnant following 2 miscarriages at 8 weeks in 2021 and 2022. Have a 12 year old and 9 year old already
It was only after 20 week scan that I believed this pregnancy would result in a healthy baby.
I have placenta previa (complete, posterior) which Dr thinks is unlikely to move.
Desperately hoping to avoid any big bleeds so baby doesn’t need to be delivered before 37 weeks

suz2285 · 02/11/2023 16:54

Welcome @Op001 totally know what you mean about not believing it till after the 20 weeks scan! Glad all seems ok so far... though I imagine the placenta previa is an added stress hopefully it won't cause any issues like you say 🤞🤞 when are you due? (I could prob work it out but 🤷‍♀️😂)

Op001 · 02/11/2023 17:01

Due date is 8 March but c-section will be no later than 16 Feb. When are you due?
Finding this pregnancy very stressful but I think that’s the nature of all pregnancies after miscarriage

suz2285 · 02/11/2023 17:48

Due 13th Jan, totally know what you mean about the anxiety of pregnant after loss, it's not a fun time! It's just one worry after the next! There's a couple of us here due in the next few months!

Brokenpancreas94 · 02/11/2023 19:00

@suz2285 I can't even feel my pubic bone though 😂is that an issue? 😂

Glad you're feeling better @sweetpotato29

Congratulations @Op001 but having the added anxiety is horrible! I'm due 26th January but probably won't be having baby any later than around 5th January, due to type 1 diabetes. My daughter was born at 34 weeks! Very nerve wracking! Wishing you all the best! Xx

suz2285 · 02/11/2023 19:53

@Brokenpancreas94 just guess roughly. That seems to be what the midwife's do 😂 but your scans will be more accurate than the chart anyway! Not that anyone seems to tell you what's happening in your scans 😂 ask next time haha

Brokenpancreas94 · 02/11/2023 19:56

@suz2285 I'll give it a go in a bit then 😂
No they bloody don't, or when I have asked before they're just like oh it's fine 🙄😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 02/11/2023 20:38

@suz2285 32cm apparently...probably didn't do it right though...that'd put me right above the 90th percentile! 😬😂

SparkleFly · 02/11/2023 20:51

Do you all get your bumps measured then? I don't think they do it in my area, so with my son I just measured it myself as I wanted to know how much it was increasing!

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow but still have major doubts in my mind about how it's going. Supposed to have a consultant appointment at 16 weeks but they actually scheduled it for 17.5 weeks, which I then had to change due to an open evening at potential primary school for my son (only date they were actually doing, typical!). So because they refused to bring it forward, my 16 week appointment is now at 18.5 weeks. I'm kinda wondering if there's much point 🤷‍♀️

In other news I'm having strange wee habits. I'll feel like I really need to go, then when I do barely anything comes out, then back at my desk I need to go again 5 mins later and the rest all comes out. UTI possibly do you think, or just a weird pregnancy thing?

Brokenpancreas94 · 02/11/2023 20:55

@SparkleFly well it seems they were going to at my 28week midwife appointment but then decided not to because I'm having "serial scans" and they said they'd be more accurate, I'm just having FOMO.

What was consultant appointment for? I can't really help as I see my consultant every 2 weeks anyway so don't know what the norm is now 😂🙈

It could be a UTI, I'd mention it to GP maybe...I thought I had another one but turns out it's just baby squeezing my bladder 😂🙈

suz2285 · 02/11/2023 21:15

@SparkleFly they do here with me but not everyone it seems and the charts are different everywhere! Best not to have it it's super inaccurate and causes a bunch of issues 😂 the wee thing sounds like me, recently it's like I need all the time but nothing much comes out but then I need again right away! No UTI but they do test for it throughout so it could be nothing

@Brokenpancreas94 could be right! And if you had a personalised chart like me it might be off the chart 😂 it's so silly

tulipsunday · 03/11/2023 13:39

@sweetpotato29 aw lovely to hear the heartbeat. Massage sounds a good idea!

Welcome @Op001 and congratulations on your pregnancy. Do you know if a boy/girl? Can all relate to it being a worrying time.

Op001 · 03/11/2023 17:11

thanks @tulipsunday. I’m expecting a boy. Do you know what you’re having?

suz2285 · 03/11/2023 18:12

@Op001 myself and @Brokenpancreas94 are both having boys too, I think maybe @tulipsunday is too, I can't remember, I do remember hardly anyone is having a girl 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 03/11/2023 18:26

Yes, I'm pretty sure @tulipsunday is having a boy as well...I think @WhiteHorse92 is having a girl? 🙈 I could be wrong though haha xx

WhiteHorse92 · 03/11/2023 19:00

Yep I'm having a girl 😊

tulipsunday · 03/11/2023 22:06

Aw lovely @Op001 yes boy here too 😊 💙

We're staying team yellow so could be either here :)

Nushyboots · 04/11/2023 10:42

Same staying team yellow - have 12 week scan on thursday so fingers crossed girlie's x (again) mother in law is up for weekend and she is a pregnancy bloodhound and we are going to keep it quiet till 20 weeks really… baggy clothes and slouchy sitting down in full force

sweetpotato29 · 04/11/2023 10:45

We're also keeping it a surprise! I've had people tell me all sorts on what they think it is and why though 😂

suz2285 · 04/11/2023 11:19

Wow you guys all keeping team yellow is amazing! I don't think I could do it 😂 how exciting though that's so cool

@sweetpotato29 everyone has theories about baby gender 😂 thing is even when you know I'll be like 'it's a boy' and no one really knows how to react like there isn't a right or wrong answer.... and then also you get everyone's opinions about why a boy is better or worse etc so it would be nice not having that 😂

@Nushyboots aww yey, that's exciting! Hahah hopefully you'll manage to hide it, we managed to hide from most people for a while 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 04/11/2023 11:30

@suz2285 I'm the same I couldn't not find out, I'm so impatient 😂
I know what you mean by the comments though...I've been getting the "awww one of each" or "ohhh you don't need to have anymore after this one now" I mean I'm not going to have anymore after this one, but why can't I 😂

Good luck @Nushyboots xx

Nushyboots · 04/11/2023 11:54

@suz2285 @Brokenpancreas94

at work but apparently she has cornered hubby and asked him outright 🤣🤣🤣 he denied it but he is such a bad liar…we are keeping it on the quiet till at least 20 week scan plus there have been two losses in the family (MMC) in last few weeks so trying to be sensitive too

suz2285 · 04/11/2023 12:04

@Brokenpancreas94 yeah for sure! The comments are weird right? I think people just want to have something to say, and it's never the right thing 😂

@Nushyboots wow that sounds intense! Is this your first? Was she expecting it? Like my mums been asking us for grandkids for years but she didn't ever outright ask me 😂 but then I don't live near her so maybe I get away with it more! Yeah it's difficult we had some losses in the family around the time I wanted to start telling people so I didn't want to start telling everyone either, I def felt more comfortable after the 20 week scan to tell a few more people! Hardly anyone knew before 23 weeks!

Nushyboots · 04/11/2023 12:11

@suz2285 no its our 4th 🤦🏽‍♀️ So was a surprise after our previous MMC (which was a surprise also) but I was at Dr about to get implant fitted 😵‍💫 so obviously i am aware we may appear ‘greedy’ in terms of the children ratio but we werent planning on 4 but being quite careful (obviously not enough) also prepared for the were you trying for a girl (as we have 3 boys) plus MIL has always said 3 is already too many….
