@JMasey oh for sure! 😂 in my next life im a man or a cat!

Neelamj · 30/10/2023 15:21

@Brokenpancreas94 @suz2285 thsnks so much! Honestly starting to feel a bit more hopeful so glad work is now keeping me busy till the 10th scan day!

@JMasey the anxiety is real but hopefully we both past this first trimester lol my husband is super supportive but men are men some things they dont understand and love getting advice from everyone on this group

Brokenpancreas94 · 30/10/2023 18:33

@Neelamj you're welcome! Don't need to thank us! Yes keeping busy is key I think, I was going mad in the lead up to my 12 week scan, because I was terrified I would go through what I went through at the last 12 week scan!

Badger notes never ceases to amaze me, according to them 3rd trimester starts from week 25 😂 never heard that one before. Oh how I miss paper notes 😂

suz2285 · 31/10/2023 14:35

I had my next growth scan today, baby still measuring big, 90th centile. No further scans for now unless they think he's grown too big again.... currently estimated 3lbs 10oz which already sounds huge i've got like 10 weeks left to go! Hopefully his growth slows down a bit... and he doesn't continue to be a giant baby!

Glad he's healthy and happy in there though, everything looking good on the scans other than his size!

how's everyone else doing?

WhiteHorse92 · 31/10/2023 15:43

@suz2285 I had a growth scan with my son at 28 weeks as measuring big, got told at the scan he was over 90th centile but when I had growth scans at 36 and 38 weeks he'd slowed down a bit and said he was average size and was 8lbs 3oz when born, think he just had a growth spurt in the second trimester or something! My bump was always measuring 4/5 weeks ahead though 😅

Had my 28 week midwife appointment yesterday at 28+3, baby is head down and bump was measuring spot on at 29 weeks so doesn't look like I'll need growth scans this time 😅

suz2285 · 31/10/2023 16:03

@WhiteHorse92 Honestly the growth scans are such a stress! My bump at 28+4 was measuring 29cm which apparently put me on the 97 centile on my GROW chart, which I don't understand, as i thought it was weeks +/- 2cm is normal!?

Baby is measuring around 85-90 centile across the measurements but when I look online it says around 50-70 for those same measurements on other sites! I did ask the midwife today if it could just be a growth spurt and he'd slow down and she said quite possibly.

They've estimated he's doubled in weight in a month, which seems normal for this stage! I've had 2 blood tests for diabetes cos of family history, both are totally normal but they're still mentioning another if he continues to measure big...

Glad to hear your big baby was only 8lb 3!! I'm worried they'll want me to be induced if he continues to be bigger, but from everything i've read online it seems without any other issues they won't?

Are you having a girl this time? I've also been told boys are likely to be bigger!

In other news I got my first new stretch mark overnight, so if he could stop growing so fast that would be nice 🙄

WhiteHorse92 · 31/10/2023 16:32

@suz2285 I was told by the midwife in first pregnancy that they'll want to induce me at 39 weeks if still measuring that big at later growth scans but as he started measuring average towards the end they were happy for nature to take its course.

Yeah it's a girl this time, also heard boys tend to measure big!

Yeah I don't understand, always thought bump size in cm should be same as weeks gestation +/- 2 weeks too so I don't know why that makes you high centile 🤔. I'm gonna have a look at my Badger Notes now and see if mines plotted anywhere 😅

WhiteHorse92 · 31/10/2023 16:35

@suz2285 just checked my Badger Notes and it has the growth chart and looks like she's plotted it correctly, 29cm at 28+3 looks to be about 70th centile 🤔

suz2285 · 31/10/2023 17:15

@WhiteHorse92 it's weird to me too, but apparently these charts are personalised? So it's maybe big for me?

I'll post it below, see if you can make sense 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 31/10/2023 19:33

@suz2285 @WhiteHorse92 had my 28week midwife today, they aren't even measuring my fundal because of how many scans I am...wish they did though, because I feel like I'm missing out now haha 😂😂

Growth scan on Tuesday next week for me!

WhiteHorse92 · 31/10/2023 20:11

@suz2285 ahh it must depend on your area or hospital trust or something, mine definitely doesn't use personalised ones that's why it's different. I'm same height as you and nearly same weight so using yours that would probably put my baby on 90th centile too 😅

suz2285 · 31/10/2023 20:31

@WhiteHorse92 that's ridiculous how different it can be between different places huh! 🙈 I had a quick google and it seems the height/weight and ethnicity all factor into the personalised charts... but yeah no idea why some would be personalised and some generic with the same measurements! Crazy

@Brokenpancreas94 you're def not missing out 😂😂

JMasey · 01/11/2023 07:00

Just thought I'd update you all. Went to drs and he's doing my bloods this morning after concerns test is getting faint. He's also refer me to gynaecology after two previous losses. But it does look like this will be the third. My test this morning is pretty much negative. So this wasn't my time. Wish you all luck and happy pregnancies. X

suz2285 · 01/11/2023 07:25

@JMasey so sorry to hear that, I hope they can do some investigations for you and you have a more positive outcome soon 🙏🤞

JMasey · 01/11/2023 07:39

That's interesting @suz2285 my growth chart doesn't have any of my weight/height measurements so assume is generic one.

My son was a big baby though was born at 42+1 so had a fair amount of growing time! This one doesn't seem to be measuring big atm. One of the head measurements was big (90th percentile) but rest under 50th percentile currently. Est weight at 28+4 was 2 pounds 9.

Yesterday I had all the aches! Particularly inner thigh/groin area and centre of back behind ribs which made driving quite uncomfortable. Going to see how I go rest of the week and contact physio if no better

@tulipsunday yep on your chart I'd be bang in the normal range! My bump isn't even big 😂 they're definitely personalised here but I dunno why here and not other places, same as usual! Differs everywhere!

My estimated weight a week ahead of your measurement 29+3 was 3lb 10 tho! So does seem bigger 😂 I don't know how accurate that is

I'm def feeling more achy, swollen and bigger the last week or so! I'm going to try and move today as I've been struggling to get walks in much cos of the terrible weather! I'm going to do a workout and go a walk!

tulipsunday · 02/11/2023 09:58

Good idea. I need to do some exercise. Hopefully it will help with the aches. Same not been out much as crap weather here now too. Hope it doesn't ruin our firework plans this weekend. They really go all out in my village and build this massive bonfire so will be such a shame if two years in a row it is a wash out 🙈☔️

Brokenpancreas94 · 02/11/2023 10:01

@suz2285 I'm still feeling left out with this growth chart stuff 😂😂😂😂 I just want to know what mine is measuring 😂😂

@tulipsunday the rain is really getting on my nerves here too! They have massive bonfires here as well! We didn't go last year, I think because of the weather!

suz2285 · 02/11/2023 11:28

@tulipsunday the rain is so annoying! It's usually really dry here but it's done nothing but pour for a month solid! I've not been getting my walks as much, and my feet feel swollen now! So I need to go a walk for sure!

@Brokenpancreas94 well everywhere else apart from here seems to be generic charts so just google one and measure your bump and make your own chart 😂😂

sweetpotato29 · 02/11/2023 14:44

Hey all, hope you are all doing ok. @suz2285 and @tulipsunday definitely look into a pregnancy massage! I had one at 13 weeks when we visited a spa & it was dreamy.

I feel like I've come out the other side of the flu... feeling more human now, just need to shake the cough off. I had my 16 week midwife check up yesterday and got to hear little baby's heartbeat which was lovely 💞💞 good to know they seem to be doing ok despite all the coughing!

suz2285 · 02/11/2023 15:37

@sweetpotato29 i had one around 18 weeks, it did help! good point... i'm not sure i'm even achy now just large and everything feels weird, like i'm fat but not like being fat, it's strange hahah! I did some stretches and a workout this morning and now my hips are a bit achy, maybe didn't need to squat so deep, nevermind! 😂

Glad you're over the flu and baby is doing ok! i'm just waiting for whatever illness to make its way to me, it's that time of year right! Its also got very cold and dark all of a sudden!
