Anyone know what their cervix feels like at this point in the pregnancy? I'm so paranoid these days 😅 didn't check anything with my son so no idea if it's too low/open etc

It cant be open... Youd be miscarrying if it was!
I have no idea. I cant reach my cervix, nor do I want to.
Leave it alone! It can be particularly sensitive during pregnancy, and touching it may cause bleeding!

You need to trust that your body is doing its part in the pregnancy.
You will likely get a cervix length scan before your 20 week scan. Until then, you shouldnt be worrying about it. Incompetent cervix is an issue once the baby gets big enough to push down on it. Right now, the baby is too small!

Ttcmumma · 07/10/2023 22:01

@ASGIRC ok thank you for the reality check 😅 I think I need to learn to calm my anxiety!

WishIWasSleeping · 09/10/2023 13:02

Can I join your list?
edd 01/04/24, although I suspect I'll be early... Smile
I'll have a read through everyone's comments later. This is pregnancy #4, baby #3 for me.

I'm in the same club as you all, lurked on the thread for a bit.

I'm 14 weeks - cannot lie down at night without needing to get up 2 mins later for a pee! Even if I've just been! Anyone else have this?

Hello and congratulations!

I'm okay if I'm sat down but as soon as I stand up and move around I have to go 🤦🏻‍♀️ and I'm feeling extra Thursday too 😅

Justalittlebitblondie · 12/10/2023 21:08

Hello - can I join you? I have the dating scan tomorrow but the clinic (it is an IVF pregnancy) have dated me at 21 April. Not sure I will believe it until I see the scan tomorrow

sugarplum33 · 12/10/2023 21:10

@WishIWasSleeping @Bizjustgotreal @Justalittlebitblondie Congratulations and welcome!

@Justalittlebitblondie hope your scan goes well tomorrow :)

Mrsttcno1 · 13/10/2023 07:41

Good luck with your scan today @Justalittlebitblondie ! I also have my dating scan this morning, literally didn’t sleep a wink last night I’m so nervous. Fingers crossed we both have positive news! X

sugarplum33 · 13/10/2023 08:29

@Mrsttcno1 It's a horrible nervous wait but hopefully you'll both be seeing baby kicking around in no time. Update us when you can!

Justalittlebitblondie · 13/10/2023 10:10

Well - good news and bad - good news is the baby looks really good. Bad news is the dates seem all over the place - I should be 12w6d, but the baby is too big to do the downs/Edwards/patau test - so I completely confused…

sugarplum33 · 13/10/2023 10:24

That is confusing @Justalittlebitblondie. Did the sonographer have any explanation? I suppose the cut off is 14 weeks isn't it which isn't that far from your dates. In which case if maybe your dates are a few days out and baby is measuring a bit bigger for dates that could account for the 8+ days difference. Very frustrating for you to not have the tests but as a positive baby is healthy and measuring ahead and not behind.

Mrsttcno1 · 13/10/2023 10:45

My appointment was also a bit of a mare, baby would not keep still so it took them quite a long time to get the measurements 🤣 but all looks good. They measured the nuchal bit which she said was normal, and had my bloods taken after for that bit. Feel like I can breathe a little bit easier now.

On the other hand, I didn’t realise how squeamish my husband was! He had to look away when I had my bloods done🤣 so I’m now wondering how on earth he’s going to manage the labour! X

Justalittlebitblondie · 13/10/2023 10:51

It was an ivf pregnancy - the clinic said I should be 12w6d - apparently the baby measured 14w3d - almost two weeks difference! Am so confused now!

Ttcmumma · 13/10/2023 11:16

All my babies have measured atleast 5 days bigger. My living son was 7lbs at 38 weeks and his due date had already been moved forward from my LMP dates at the beginning. You may just have a big baby! Frustrating about the tests tho. I'm currently a week ahead in this pregnancy than I should be but as I was only supposed to be 12 weeks at the scan I ended up being 13 weeks. Now 14+4. Feels like I skipped a week lol x

Justalittlebitblondie · 13/10/2023 11:42

Seen the consultant - am apparently classified as high risk - have scans booked fortnightly from 20 weeks and they want to book me in for a section at my 22 week appt with the consultant…

sugarplum33 · 13/10/2023 11:51

Have they explained why you're such high risk @Justalittlebitblondie? I take it all of this has come as a surprise?

dory0 · 13/10/2023 14:49

I had my NHS scan today too. @Mrsttcno1 mine was the same, we were there a long time, with me having to jiggle around and get off the bed several times to try and get baby into a decent position and to stop flipping around so they could measure! My husband is squeamish around needles too, can’t be in the room! 🙈

@Justalittlebitblondie glad the scan was all ok but how confusing for you.

Villan89 · 13/10/2023 14:59

Hi,
Just joining along, I’m 13weeks due 17th April.
How quickly did everybody receive their screening results? X

Misty84 · 13/10/2023 15:47

Hi @Villan89 I received mine by phone about 1.5 weeks later and then a letter with the detailed results shortly after that.

sweetdreams23 · 13/10/2023 18:04

I had my screening results on the day. Very impressed. Where I am they do the blood test with a midwife at 11 weeks then the sonography calculates the chances on the day of scan with the measurements so nice not to have to wait!

we need a new thread! Anyone up for making one? im not sure how to do it!

Mrsttcno1 · 13/10/2023 19:08

Glad it wasn’t just me the. @dory0 🤣 to be honest I was quite disappointed by the experience we had today for our nhs scan! Obviously so grateful everything is okay with the baby and that is the main thing, but I found our private scans a much nicer experience. X

wiedehopf · 14/10/2023 08:45

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess could you re-do your post? we had that nice list of everyone's due dates in this previous thread, might be nice to keep and update that. Also should allow the person starting a new thread to easily tag everyone?

wiedehopf · 14/10/2023 09:08

Sorry I've just realised the problem with that as people have had losses etc. Ignore me!
