@dory0 @sugarplum33 thanks ladies! I actually have a bit of an upset tummy at the moment, I think it's the anxiety kicking in but makes me not want to go out 😅. Might try and organise my son's toys ready for Christmas, he's got way too many that'll be sure to take up most of the weekend haha. Yes trying to remember statistically going through this twice would be ridiculously low in likelihood and very unlucky! I miss scans being an exciting 😓x

sugarplum33 · 30/09/2023 11:13

@Ttcmumma Oh god the endlessly increasing amount of toys! However many we put in the loft there always seems to be more and more downstairs haha.

I don't know if anyone has seen but there's now a June due date thread. For some reason it makes me really happy to see the due dates progressing and knowing we are not the pregnancy newbies anymore 🤣 finally we are all getting towards the end of the first trimester!

Butterfliesandroses · 30/09/2023 19:11

@Ttcmumma I just wanted to pop on and say how I totally understand how you may be feeling. We lost our baby earlier this year in the second trimester, and in this pregnancy we have had to attend scans and appointments in the same rooms, which has been traumatic. What I wanted to suggest, was that you let the staff know about your feelings and the reasons for them at your appointment on Monday. I have found that staff have been really understanding when I have done this. Generally I have began to cry after I have told them, but they have been amazing and taken extra care to explain things, especially regarding that painful wait while they search for a heartbeat. They've also been willing to call me regarding results even if negative (whereas they would usually only call if there was a problem). Just an idea, but it has been the only thing that has helped me so I wanted to share in case it could help you, too. Good luck for Monday x

Ttcmumma · 30/09/2023 19:52

@Butterfliesandroses thank you! This is really helpful, I think I will mention it when I go in on Monday so hopefully they are abit more supportive x

Misty84 · 30/09/2023 20:37

@Ttcmumma Can’t believe how similar our stories are. I miscarried at 10+4 and also had to look at my lifeless baby on the screen (where previously I’d seen a healthy heartbeat at 8 weeks). Traumatic and heartbreaking. My 12 week scan is on Monday too so I have EXACTLY the same fears as you. ❤️

Ttcmumma · 30/09/2023 21:24

@Misty84 yep I had seen baby waving at me previously and seen my living son's scans so I knew it looked oddly still in there the second she started scanning. We've got this 💪🏻 got everything crossed we both come back with exciting news Monday. What time is your scan? I'm quite glad mines at 9am as I drop my son at 8:40 to school so I won't have time to sit and worry on the day until I'm in the waiting room. Poor boys lost bin bag after bin bag of toys today, trying to feel like I'm in control of something 🤣.

So sad to hear of all the previous losses tho 😓 honestly so sorry to any of you who have been through it and praying none of us go through it again x

Misty84 · 01/10/2023 08:32

@Ttcmumma It does reassure me that you have a son and therefore this isn’t going to happen ‘every time’🙏
Your scan is at a great time, mine is at 11:45!😩 And they’re ALWAYS running very behind if you’re not the first scan of the day🙄 It’s going to be an anxious morning but my partner has booked the day off and we’re going to treat ourselves to lunch out following our good news- fingers crossed!!!!!

Ttcmumma · 01/10/2023 09:17

@Misty84 I had no issues at all with my son (besides some Utis but fairly standard stuff!) And honestly was just so oblivious back then so didn't follow all the rules etc. I think he is partly the reason the doctors aren't too fussed, they just told me 'try again, you know your body can do it' 🙄 ok thanks but I wanted it to do it with the baby I lost too? I don't think many women experience recurring, especially missed miscarriages, so I'm guessing the chances are in our favour.

Oh god, yeah mine always run late too but hoping it's too early for that! Really hope they don't keep you waiting long, the waiting room gets very daunting. I'm going alone 🤦🏼‍♀️ but I'm the kind of person that has to initially process things alone and then if all goes wrong and I need to break down, I go find someone lol.
Here's to you having a celebratory afternoon!

Knock123 · 01/10/2023 10:46

Morning everyone, I also have a scan tomorrow, I'm only 11 weeks but I'm having the Harmony test. I've not got my NHS scan for another couple of weeks.

I just wanted to say that I had previously had 2 fairly late losses and when I was pregnant with my daughter it was covid times and husbands/partners weren't allowed to wait with us in the waiting room. I was having a full blown panic attack by the time I arrived at the hospital and was crying as I was so anxious about the scan and really didn't want to wait alone. My husband explained to the lady on reception and they must have moved things around because they immediately called me in for my scan.

I said to the sonographer I was really nervous so just going to keep my eyes closed until she tells me otherwise. She was absolutely brilliant, really soothing and let me know when it was safe to look. Just say you're feeling extremely anxious and they will do what they can to make you feel more comfortable.

Misty84 · 01/10/2023 18:43

Thanks for the advice @Knock123 and best of luck for your scan tomorrow too! Hope we’re all posting good news!

Knock123 · 01/10/2023 21:35

@Misty84 thank you, good luck to you too (and everyone else)

My husband has just tested positive for covid so I'm going to have to go alone!!

I hope everyone manages to get a decent night's sleep

Ttcmumma · 02/10/2023 09:43

Baby is alive and looking well😭 omg I can't stop shaking from how nervous I was before. Thought I was 12+2 and baby measured a couple days behind at 6 weeks but baby is now measuring 13 weeks. I told the sonographer how nervous I was, I was actually shaking so much I could barely take out my belly piercing when he asked, he was very lovely, found the heartbeat for me instantly so I could breathe a little then spoke me through everything he possibly could. Fingers crossed for you guys having a scan today too! Hope I've started the day on the right track for you all.

I was however in the same room as my MMC which terrified me but different sonographer! Xx

theodora2146 · 02/10/2023 10:18

Had my follow up scan at EPU this morning and everything is right on track! Baby measuring 9+6 with a strong heart beat of 180 and moving around a lot 🥰

Next scan is my 12 week on the 19th 🥰

sugarplum33 · 02/10/2023 12:22

@Ttcmumma @Knock123 @theodora2146 Brilliant news! So pleased for you all!

Misty84 · 02/10/2023 12:34

My 12 week scan was all fine, I am so happy (cried happy, relieved tears throughout). Furthest we’ve got and absolutely delighted/in disbelief!
Thank you so much for thinking of me @Ttcmumma, I’m so pleased for you too, and @Knock123 and @theodora2146. 🥰

sugarplum33 · 02/10/2023 13:02

@Misty84 Brilliant! Love all this happy news today.

Have we got many more scans coming up this week? Mine is tomorrow afternoon.

Pinkstuffs · 02/10/2023 13:04

Congrats to everyone that got good news today! My DH is going on holiday later this week so had to put my scan back by two weeks 🙃 I can’t wait!

Mammac85 · 02/10/2023 14:03

So happy to hear you all had great news at your scans today ladies.

dory0 · 02/10/2023 14:05

Such good news all round, so lovely to hear! 😊

pocklepickle · 02/10/2023 14:36

Hey everyone. I'm due 6th April. My 3rd baby and my 6th pregnancy.
I'm being consultant led (due to last 3 pregnancies ending in m/c) and it will be a section - so may end up a March baby

SitDownLars · 02/10/2023 16:07

Hi all, I had my scan this morning. Thought I was 12 weeks tomorrow but the sonographer said more like 11 so couldn't do the screening measurements. Which I think makes sense based on ovulation dates so fingers crossed that's the reason. Need to go back in 10 days. Did anyone else have the same happen?

Sophieloub · 02/10/2023 16:11

Hey everyone I'm due 13th April. Bumps already showing. I've had 12 week scan is anyone good at guessing gender for fun xx

Mimmi92 · 02/10/2023 16:27

@SitDownLars I was 10+5 and couldn't do the screening measurements as it was too eaely. I got another appointment in 2 weeks time, which will be this Wednesday!
I should be 12+5 then 🤗

At least we got an extra scan! 😁
