Hi all, just marking myself on the new thread! Hope youโ€™re all ok ?
good luck for scans this week.
Iโ€™m 13+4 today. My hubby had a vivid dream before we found out that we were pregnant that we had a girl and we named her Rosie, I donโ€™t dislike the name and we had a ds called Robin so itโ€™s cute but my sister called her dog Rosie ๐Ÿ˜ฉ so not sure but I would like a name if it is a girl with a R so maybe we have too lol

LittleAlien24 · 04/07/2023 12:28

@Flossiepot I've scans every 3 weeks so i asked my doc yesterday can she tell me the gender if she can see it and she said she can so no need for extra scan to find out the gender. She told me that she has seen as early as 12 weeks but said my baby is too active to see at the moment lol but im considering for a private scan to get a nice picture ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚ my doctors equipment doesn't seem to take nice and clear pictures ๐Ÿ˜•

I have a list of names but haven't shown them to my OH yet. We gonna do it a bit different way, like i did with my girls. We won't name our child until its born. We'll choose 2 or 3 boys and girls names we like and when baby is born we gonna look and see which name suits her/him ๐Ÿ˜ with my younger girl it took a week to name her because none of the names was her ๐Ÿ˜‚

PartRadish · 04/07/2023 13:00

@sashastuck That happened to us with number 2! Took us ages to agree on a name (Seth) and DH's cousin named her new dog it a few weeks before he was born.

Sambeaumont · 04/07/2023 13:10

Thanks for the new thread xx

TunnocksTCake · 04/07/2023 13:25

ooh new thread! Thanks for setting it up @Redpanda21

Im awful at choosing names, I think we will do the same as last time and @LittleAlien24 I had a list of 3 names, inc middle names ready before to avoid any catastrophic postpartum decisions then picked one a couple of days after she was born. I never found any I absolutely loved last time with DD so hoping its a boy!

RootsHere · 04/07/2023 13:45

Had our 12 week scan this morning, all went well! ๐Ÿฅฐ Measuring at 11+6 and due 17th Jan.

But I need some reassurance please. We had a private scan 2 weeks ago and the baby had a heartbeat but wasnโ€™t wriggling much. Now at the 12 week scan, it once again was just chilling, not much movement. The midwife didnโ€™t seem to linger on the heartbeat either, she just showed us itโ€™s there but then moved on to measurements.

Maybe because our DD was so wriggly at the 12 week scan, I canโ€™t help but think what are the odds of the baby being so still at both scans.. I am certain I am being unreasonable to worry but please can someone reassure itโ€™s normal?! ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ Maybe itโ€™s just a chill sleepy baby ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคž

RG9895 · 04/07/2023 13:48

@RootsHere I had my scan yesterday and thought similar tbh but just thought the sonographer would mention it if they thought something was wrong. It bounced up and down a little and moved an arm but wasn't overly wriggling around. I'm sure everything is absolutely fine but if you are worried perhaps bring it up at your midwife appt or call the EPU? โ˜บ๏ธ

suz2285 · 04/07/2023 13:50

@RootsHere I read a few posts about 12 week scans this week and loads of people panicking about that, basically babies sleep a lot in the womb and it's not uncommon for them not to be moving much during scans!

I'm sure they would have said if they were worried about anything at all

Lightningrain · 04/07/2023 13:56

Just checking in with the new thread!

Iโ€™m 13+3 today and got my screening results back yesterday which came back as low risk so Iโ€™m really relieved. Weโ€™ve told a few people now but Iโ€™m still reluctant to announce to everyone on Facebook and wider friends/family.

Still feeling really tired in the afternoons and not sleeping well due to multiple toilet visits in the night. Iโ€™ve had heartburn for the past two evenings as well.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Noodle89 · 04/07/2023 14:11

Hi all, been lurking for a while now and thought it's about time I said hi. Just had my scan and they have put me at 13+2 so due date is now 7th Jan. This is baby number 4 for me and hubby. Have 3 boys already. Congrats to everyone on here and looking forward to this journey again.

Here is a pic from my scan today. Any guesses welcome ๐Ÿ˜Š

PartRadish · 04/07/2023 14:18

@Noodle89 nub looks very girly to me ๐Ÿ˜Š

suz2285 · 04/07/2023 15:21

@Lightningrain how long did it take to get the results back after the scan?

Glad all is good! I'm totally with you though I'm not planning on any massive announcements I'm so scared to even tell a few people! Maybe I'll feel better once I get my scan/all the results back! But then I'll just be worrying about the 20 week scan ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Onedayatatime24 · 04/07/2023 15:47

Had our 12 week scan today, all good! Measuring a few days ahead so now 12+2 and new due date of 14th Jan. NT measurement was 1.3mm too which I think is good? So just the wait for the screening results to come back okay. We've told close family but will wait to tell others until the screening results come back I think.

Couldn't really see a clear nub but attached our pic for any guesses! We were certain it's a boy but now not so sure.

@RootsHere Ours was not very wriggly and looked very snuggled in there, the sonographer made me wiggle my hips to wake baby up and try to get them to turn around. So I think if they weren't worried then neither should you. I'm sure baby is all good, just chilling. :)

Misspotterscat · 04/07/2023 16:25

Love seeing all the scans! My 12 week scan isnโ€™t for another two weeks yet (Iโ€™m 10+3 currently) but had another private scan today. Finally looks like a baby ๐Ÿ˜

TunnocksTCake · 04/07/2023 16:33

PSA - might sound crazy but put your babies down for nursery / childcare ASAP! I have just contacted my DDs nursery (had scan at the weekend) to register the new one to start Nov 2024 and they only have Mondays available nov & dec 2024, but all 5 days from jan 2025 at the moment.
Think it's due to the promised free hours more people are applying and people always hold more days than they end up using!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 04/07/2023 16:34

@RootsHere Iโ€™ve had the same experience. My first child always seemed so energetic in scans whereas this one is more laid back. Iโ€™m hoping that means theyโ€™ll be an easy going baby.

On names, weโ€™re waiting to find out the sex before properly discussing them. Annoyingly I told my mum my favourite girl name when we had my son as I mentioned what he would have been called if a girl and she said how much she hated it. She also brought it up again when we announced the pregnancy. So annoyed at myself for sharing it as Iโ€™m sure if we chose it she would have just kept her mouth closed.

RaspberryTime · 04/07/2023 16:34

Congrats on all the scans today, they all look gorgeous!

Just back from having ours now. All is well, strong heartbeat and dancing around like a mad thing which was amazing to see.

Based on an early scan at 6 weeks at the EPU I thought I was 12+5 but todayโ€™s scan put me at 13+3 so a due date even closer to New Year than we thought!

NT was 1.4 which Iโ€™m hoping is a good sign for when we get the screening results back??

A quick question - I was told to pick up a GROW chart before I left the hospital but I totally forgot ๐Ÿ™ˆ Does anyone know what that is/ whether I can get one online (sorry if silly question!)/ if I should ring the hospital to let them know I forgot. Canโ€™t seem to find any info via Dr Google that looks quite right.

TunnocksTCake · 04/07/2023 16:34

@Noodle89 same due date!

Vikki7 · 04/07/2023 16:41

Has anyone else got their 20week anomaly scan date yet?

I've just got mine and it's on 14th August at 3:40pm.

Summer holidays with a 6y/o and a 4y/o and partner abroad ๐Ÿ˜ž

It's been made for when I'm 20 weeks exactly.

Does anyone know how late in pregnancy you can have an anomaly scan?

If I wait until kids go back to school/preschool in Sept, I'll be about 23/24 weeks.

RG9895 · 04/07/2023 16:46

Congratulations on all the lovely scans! โ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ

In regards to the NT ours was 2.1. I saw a sign when I got my bloods saying 3.5 and above is higher risk but still not guaranteed so I'm presuming anything under that is looking good! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

@Vikki7 mines booked in for when I am 21 weeks exactly. Ive read they can be between 18-22weeks if thats any help!

Flossiepot · 04/07/2023 16:47

@Vikki7 Mines been booked for just under 21, have just checked NHS website which says between 18 & 21 weeks. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

sashastuck · 04/07/2023 16:55

Amazing news about all of these lovely scans!! ๐Ÿ’–

Iโ€™m thinking girl for you @Noodle89 and boy for you @Onedayatatime24 . Nub looks risen.

@TunnocksTCake thank you for the heads up, I know someone else mentioned it as well recently - where do I start? Go and look around some or? I did not think weโ€™d be thinking about this so early ๐Ÿ˜‚

Canโ€™t believe itโ€™s not just me who had this probably about family pets having our baby names๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Itโ€™s not completely off putting as my partner and that cousin arenโ€™t that close but now Iโ€™ll always liken the name to a dog. (Iโ€™ve never watched the move Marley and Me by the way so it didnโ€™t bother me until NOW hahaha).

@Vikki7 same as @RG9895 here - booked for 21 weeks and think past 22 weeks is too late. Sorry itโ€™s not ideal for you :( x

Bims2019 · 04/07/2023 16:57

Congratulations on all the scans!

@Vikki7 my anomaly scan is booked in for 20+6 which I think is the latest my hospital does it, but they can be as early as 18 weeks. Would it be an option to move yours forwards?

@RaspberryTime my NT was 1.8 and everything came back low risk, so 1.4 sounds like a good sign ๐Ÿ˜Š

Bims2019 · 04/07/2023 17:01

Also thanks @TunnocksTCake and others for the heads up on nurseries, I have given it a vague thought but sounds we actually do need to do something about it now ๐Ÿ˜ฌ any tips welcome, is it advisable to go and visit them first?

Lightningrain · 04/07/2023 17:15

@suz my letter arrived a week after my scan.

@RaspberryTime my NT was 1.6 and came back low risk.

Iโ€™ve got my 20 week scan date now which is 17th August. I think itโ€™s exactly 20 weeks based on the measurements although the midwife said they donโ€™t alter the official due date for an IVF pregnancy so itโ€™s a couple of days earlier than the official 20 weeks.

Iโ€™m going to be consultant led due to the IVF and I read they donโ€™t like to let you go overdue with an IVF pregnancy. If thatโ€™s the case it could be quite close to New Year as the official due date is 5th Jan.
