Hi everyone! I think mumsnet cuts threads off at around 40 pages… here’s part 2 for when it does.

@Yolksac Sorry to hear your sad news. Hope you’re coping ok. It doesn’t seem a day of good news.

Yolksac · 13/06/2023 15:32

Hi all,

quick update after the cramps and bleeding.... a little sad news as well
called EPAU yesterday and the fitted me in for a scan first thing this morning and did some blood tests

scan didn't show any viable pregnancy, there was evidence of ovulation and my uterine lining measured just under 7mm which is thin

bloods - serum HCG at 124 and progesterone at 2, which is low for both

my LMP was 16th April so should be 7.5 weeks now

midwife says it's either too early (dates wrong from irregular cycle) or I've already miscarried

back again in 48h to repeat bloods to see the trend..

thinking next time I should be on progesterone supplements... anyone has any experience in this?

I'm also thinking to see a fertility specialist privately, can't cope with leaving things like this

@Yolksac So sorry to hear this ❤

sashastuck · 13/06/2023 15:56

Very sorry to hear this @Yolksac :( Do look after yourself and take time xxx

@cossie13 I cannot believe you hadn’t been told about that, wow! I also have a scan on Thursday. I do think I’m wasting money but I know I’ve needed it to look forward to!

Had my genetics appointment with my partner yesterday. She’s confident baby will be fine but will monitor me because I’m prone to anemia with my carrier status. I’ve had more blood taken this past week than in my whole life!

Thanks everyone, it's tough :(

it's the second miscarriage in a row.... had another one around 5-6 weeks in March this year...

youaremysunshine03 · 13/06/2023 16:23

@Yolksac oh I’m so sorry 😔 hope you’re able to take some time to look after yourself. Sending you lots of love xx

I have a scan tomorrow, should hopefully be just over 9 weeks but the nerves are kicking in now.

Hi all just joining this post… read through the first few pages but too much to catculh up on so skipped to the end! Sorry to hear your sad news @Yolksac

Our positive test was such happy news to us and been quite a journey as we have been TTC for a while. I have PCOS with super long 3months+ cycles & for as long as I have tracked, never ovulated. We eventually ditched the NHS & seeked help with a private clinic and did 3 months of ovulation induction with trigger shot (all helps you to ovulate and time everything right) which I did ovulate on but never got pregnant. We planned to move onto IVF next taking a cycle out to rest, and it was in that cycle that we got our positive! All I can think of is that ovulation induction kick started my body into doing it on its own!

Based on LMP I should be 8w6d however I ovulated a week late, so putting myself at 7w6d. 1 week ago at what we thought was 6w5d we went for an early scan and was measuring at 5weeks… too soon to see a heartbeat and the scan was inconclusive. Rescan booked for 2 weeks later, so that’s 1 week today. Really hoping our dates are out and it’s all ok when we go back.

Clearblue I got 1-2 weeks at 16dpo, 2-3 weeks at 19dpo and haven’t hit 3+ since, but trying not to look into it too much.

I see some post asking if anyone else is on on progesterone, I am using cyclogest.

Symptoms are sore boobs (but I know cyclogest can contribute to this), feeling more tired than usual, a couple of random tinnitus moments where my ear pops and I hear a high pitched tone for a few seconds if that’s a thing?! Oh and I am addicted to spag bol and bacon sandwiches if that’s a sign too!

Love hearing everyone’s stories, I will come back to update after my scan on Monday, and will check back on any notifications in the meantime :)

ItsAJourney · 13/06/2023 17:48

Sounds like a lot of us have scans booked for this Thursday - I do too and I’m so nervous!

@Hedgehugs Welcome to the thread. My experience is similar to yours in that I too have PCOS and so ended up going to a private clinic for help. We decided to try a couple of rounds of IUI before moving to IVF as the next step and luckily (so far), our second round of IUI worked. I’m currently 7+2 and have my viability scan this Thursday. A spag bol craving sounds like a good one to have! Mmm!

WitcheryDivine · 13/06/2023 17:57

I have my 12 week scan next Thursday, which means it's around now that my last pregnancy ended (didn't find out til the scan), so I'm super antsy this week. Any tips on keeping calm? I know there's nothng I can do about it.

Dannic2018 · 13/06/2023 18:04

@Yolksac really sorry to hear your sad news, it’s so hard I’ve been there twice. This time I requested Progesterone from EPU at 5 weeks and I’ve been taking 400mg twice a day. I had a scan at 6weeks 5 days and again at 8weeks 5 days and I think it may of helped so definitely ask about it. The one I am on you take while you’re trying to conceive as well so I’d try and get it before you start trying.

Sending love to everyone who have scans this week. If only we had a magic wand eh?

@Eirlys1986 @Yolksac so sorry 💕take care of yourselves xx

Knov20 · 14/06/2023 05:22

So sorry to hear your news @Yolksac @Eirlys1986 give yourselves plenty time to rest and recover. Thinking of you both. Miscarriage is so cruel and going my messages here it's so common, myself included. It's a dark place sometimes because society gives us this rule almost about not telling people until we're 12 weeks and then when things happen we feel we can't say why we are sad or what's going on. Here if you need us x x x

Kalodin · 14/06/2023 05:32

Morning all, does anyone else here lift weights? Just wondered what you are doing about training. MW said to keep it up but just don't ever push myself too hard, but how hard is too hard!

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 14/06/2023 07:08

@Kalodin I did with ds. Stopped going to the gym last year sadly (and it's obvious, I've gotten very soft 🤣) I just tried to listen to my body when it told me to slow down, I increased my reps but dropped my kgs, so rather than doing 6 to 8 reps 3 times over at my top weight, I'd be aiming for 10 to 15 reps. It was a bit like when I first started weight training, rather than focusing on the weight, it was more the technique.

Some PTs, especially at the big commercial gyms specialise in pre/post-partum, so I'd ask at reception if there's anyone you can talk to.
