@Kalodin if you can still maintain a conversation while working out then it's not intense.

When running or in a weights class I randomly talk to myself if I need to catch my breath I ease up or slow down

buckingmad · 14/06/2023 08:33

@Kalodin pregnancy hormones do weird things to your muscles and ligaments so keeping strong is so beneficial but like someone else said I’d focus on technique rather than hitting any new PBs!

Kalodin · 14/06/2023 09:11

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese Yeah that's a good idea and is sort of what I've been doing since I've found out. For example, I've not gone up on my DL, Squats or Bench, just maintained since I've found out but have managed to increase reps on those.

@TrudyProud I've been weightlifting for a while now and was considering competing if I didn't get pregnant so pretty much only used to pushing myself hard so now I'm like, how hard is too hard? MW said never to get to failure but then is her failure different to mine? For me, my failure is the one after when the one before was almost losing form. So I suppose I should stop when my form is good still?

Yeah that's what I'll do @buckingmad I'm aware at how important some strength and flexibility in right places can be really beneficial in later pregnancy and birth too etc.

Thanks everyone

7+2 today, have noticed a real ease in symptoms since I hit the 7 week mark. Boobs, although still tender, no where near tender as they have been. Cramping/pulling feeling in lower abdomen, has reduced significantly. Had a few waves of nausea in week 6 but nothing since but I am taking 20mg prednisolone - which I have read can suppress nausea and sickness.
Is it normal for symptoms to be easing so soon?
4th pregnancy, previous 3 have all ended in MC, so really over analysing everything in the hopes this one is a success.
In previous times I feel like symptoms just disappear and then I know something is wrong, but this is different., they havent disappeared they are just less intense.
Scan not until next Friday 23rd.

Mummyme87 · 14/06/2023 09:26

I had a change of symptoms at about 7-8weeks @User22 although started to come back again after a week. I think the conceive plus supplements I was taking were making me feel worse as I stopped taking them just before my sickness reduced.

I have a scan today, should be 9weeks. Hopefully little bean is keeping up in there

User22 · 14/06/2023 09:28

@Mummyme87 Thanks for the reply. Hope all goes well for you at the scan today.

suz2285 · 14/06/2023 10:52

@User22 my symptoms have been definitely better since middle of week 7... I've still got them but the nausea isn't as severe... I'm a bit worried due to previous MC as well but I haven't had any worrying signs, everything online says this can be totally normal... my next scan isn't until 24th either

User22 · 14/06/2023 10:54

@suz2285 I think just with previous experience I cant help but worry or over think every little thing, by the sound of it I think you can completely relate. Fingers crossed all is good for us next week.
I feel like it is forever away.

cossie13 · 14/06/2023 10:56

@User22 I had a day where I had absolutely no symptoms at all and they've since come back with a vengeance. I had read somewhere that apparently as the placenta develops around the 6-7 week mark it starts to take the hormones away from you meaning you should start to feel better so in theory, and based on what I read, it's just your placenta developing well! It's all so worrying at this stage though, with no movements or anything to judge by I know I've worried over the tiniest things

User22 · 14/06/2023 10:58

@cossie13 Thank you for that, You always just hear how the placenta is fully formed at 12 weeks hence why people start to feel better then. That is very reassuring.

suz2285 · 14/06/2023 11:01

@User22 yeah I keep reading that too! Doesn't mean anything cos everyone is different, I've looked at the hcg levels and they stop increasing so fast around this time too, I felt sick yesterday morning and this morning I feel ok again... 🤷‍♀️

I'm going to the midwife in a min so I'll ask her!

@cossie13 it's hard at this stage with no indication of what's going on! Hate it... I've also read the placenta starts to form and it says it starts to take some of the load between 8-12 weeks but it's different for everyone when it really impacts how you feel so again, not very helpful 🤣 I know I was measuring a few days ahead at my early scan so maybe mine has just helped out nice and quickly 🤞🤞

cossie13 · 14/06/2023 11:08

@User22 Yeah I think it does fully form but apparently it starts to take on the hormones from the second it starts developing. However, with my first 2, I was queasy until 16-18 weeks so I don't hold out much hope this time and it's why I panicked over the weekend when I had 1 day of no symptoms at all.

@suz2285 It's mad how everything differs isn't it?? I've got an early scan with the NHS tomorrow morning, booking appointment on the 26th and then 12 week scan for 10th July. With everything that everyone ahs been saying on here and all the bad news that ladies have unfortunately received, I'm so nervous. You know when you just get a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach? It's like that

CaptainMuddle · 14/06/2023 11:15

Hey everyone, just back from our scan at 7w+4, first pregnancy. Not good news, but still somewhat in limbo… foetus is where it’s meant to be, but measuring 5wks and there was no yolk sac to be seen. They said it’s likely a MC but have taken bloods for HCG and progesterone and I will have a second scan and bloods in a week’s time to see how things have progressed in either direction. I continue to bleed steadily and with no other indication of why that could be I’m pretty certain I’m MC.

I was due to present at a conference in London on Tues but they have signed me off for a week to save me having to build up the resolve (it was a presentation on paediatric pall care). Just feeling a bit out of sorts now, going to do some gardening and get some fresh air. 💛

Lilothblos · 14/06/2023 11:18

@CaptainMuddle I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine how hard the wait for the second scan must be. Take care of yourself and definitely best to have the time off work, I hope the gardening can bring you some comfort / distraction ❤️

Lilothblos · 14/06/2023 11:19

@Mummyme87 I hope your scan goes well today and you see a happy healthy little bean

ThomasinaLivesHere · 14/06/2023 11:27

@CaptainMuddle Sorry to read your news. It’s horrible to wait for something like that. I hope you can distract yourself with some gardening.

suz2285 · 14/06/2023 11:32

@cossie13 yeah I'm the same, I've been feeling more positive this time as it appears to be going better than the last time however being on here sometimes does expose you to all the things that can go wrong, they say MC's in a row and MMC is rare but doesn't seem so on here! However you've got to think a lot of the population are not on here and most of them are probably going along with healthy babies 🤞🤞 I wonder what it would be like to have no anxiety hahah

suz2285 · 14/06/2023 11:33

@CaptainMuddle so sorry to hear your news

Mummyme87 · 14/06/2023 11:45

@CaptainMuddle sorry to hear it wasn’t the reassuring news you needed. I’m glad you’ve been signed off work to take care of yourself

PartRadish · 14/06/2023 12:00

So sorry it wasn't better news @CaptainMuddle

cossie13 · 14/06/2023 12:05

@CaptainMuddle I'm so sorry to hear that

cossie13 · 14/06/2023 12:07

@suz2285 You're absolutely right and I've been incredibly lucky yo have had 2 healthy babies prior to this pregnancy without too many issues. But yes, no anxiety would be lovely wouldn't it??

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 14/06/2023 12:10

Oh @CaptainMuddle I'm sorry it wasn't better news. I think the week off is a good idea, I hope the gardening helps to give some comfort.

I'm seeing my midwife for booking in shortly, and honestly I've had no symptoms at all since week 6/7, my boons hurt to touch but that's all. With all the sad news we've had here this week, I've started to worry, I'm 9 weeks tomorrow, so still have weeks until my NHS scan...

Lilothblos · 14/06/2023 12:26

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese symptoms-wise (or total lack of) I’m still feeling the same as you. Still doing my usual running / spinning without feeling any real difference to pre-pregnancy except I’m consciously trying to keep my heart rate down.

If it’s any comfort despite the lack of symptoms my scan at 7+5 was all good. Although it doesn’t stop me feeling anxious now that it was almost 2 weeks ago. I’m finding the waiting is getting really tough, hoping if things continue to the 2nd trimester I’ll stop feeling so stressed.
