So sorry to hear that @Wanderlust86 🤍 Sending love.

Flossiepot · 25/05/2023 09:11

Sorry to hear this @Wanderlust86 😘

Blessedmummytobe · 25/05/2023 10:15

What should HCG be at 8 weeks?

concerned mine is low x

1992H · 25/05/2023 10:50

sending love @Wanderlust86.
hope everyone is doing well, we are currently on holiday, but had a very rough week or so, started cyclizine before we flew and hoping to keep things tolerable until I get home before trying something else in addition.
though the 35 degree sunshine and not having to cook for the kids is helping a touch!

Lovethatjourneyforme · 25/05/2023 10:53

@Blessedmummytobe do you have a midwife yet? Might be best to ask them, anyone else will probably just be googling it. How do you know your hcg level?

Mummyme87 · 25/05/2023 10:59

@Blessedmummytobe what is your HCG? There isn’t a number it should be, and once they get to 6000 I believe they stop doubling every 48hours. They are reasonably unreliable at this stage. EPU deal with this kind of thing so have a better idea, your midwife won’t know as it’s not really a midwifery thing. I know from my own research they should be in the 10s of thousands but like I said the range is massive

Blessedmummytobe · 25/05/2023 11:07

Thanks both.

@Lovethatjourneyforme i have been spotting and had an examination and check up. My cervix is closed 👍🏾 But HCG to me sounds low unless I have calculated my dates wrong which I doubt. I don’t have a midwife yet…first app is 15th June!!!

@Mummyme87 mine was under 3000 when she gave them to me this morning. That was a sample from yesterday.

I have a bad feeling about it all. 😔

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 11:18

Sorry @Blessedmummytobe it's such a stressful time waiting to see what is happening, fingers crossed for you 🤞

@aw9870 did they say anything about weight gain? I haven't weighed myself in weeks, but I should! I'm already overweight though and I hate when they mention it at every doctors appointment!

My last thread like this they went to Facebook groups after a while and all the girls are in there chatting and sharing pics as the pregnancies progress, I'm still keeping an eye even though I lost my last pregnancy... might be worth thinking about if people fancy it?

Mummyme87 · 25/05/2023 11:23

@suz2285 before ttc #2 I was in a MN thread about preparing to ttc, we ended up with a WhatsApp group as there was about 10 of us I think and we meet up, some of us live close together. Ours kids are now 5, groups been going since early 2016! MN has some positives!!!

@Blessedmummytobe is there any chance your dates could be out?

sashastuck · 25/05/2023 11:28

@Mummyme87 @suz2285 that sounds so lovely! I’d love something like that. We’ll see who still has time for mumsnet in a few months! 😂

Blessedmummytobe · 25/05/2023 11:39

@Mummyme87 i don’t think so…however the month I conceived is the month I decided not to track anything. 1st day of LMP was 31/03/2023, I reckon I ovulated between 11th-18th April So not actually sure when I ovulated etc. I’m trying to think of every possibility.

Miniheart · 25/05/2023 11:46

Thanks for starting the new group @sashastuck

@Wanderlust86 sending all the positive vibes your way.

@xLJ1990x & @Luhou i’m also a 5 weeker (5+1) & my nausea has picked up today plus I’m also wanting to eat a lot!

aw9870 · 25/05/2023 11:48

Sending lots of love @Wanderlust86 ❤️

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 11:50

@sashastuck maybe give it a few weeks and then we can maybe set up a fb or WhatsApp group! I prefer fb as you can check in when you want to instead of heaps of notifications all day 😂

@suz2285 I think she saw the look on my face as I realised I'd gained half a stone in pretty much a month! And she said weight gain is a good thing and totally understandable in first trimester but she did say you only need an extra 200 calories a day and this can look like just one extra ham sandwich on top of your regular intake 😂 I thought to myself my goodness I really am over eating! But I just have food aversions to anything healthy right now🙈

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 11:53

@aw9870 surely some of that is just hormones and water retention! I'm so bloated 😂 they also say in first trimester not to worry what you're eating as it's so common to go off all food... nothing sounds good to me right now but I have to be constantly nibbling to avoid feeling terrible I'm basically forcing myself to eat because it helps!

That's what I'm telling myself too!😂 honestly it's horrible isn't it, if you're hungry you feel nauseous and if you eat you feel nauseous 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm constantly eating too! In fact I'm sitting in Starbucks now just finished a panini and I just know in an hour I'll be ravenous for another one. Think it's super important we're all kind to ourselves though as I definitely said pre pregnancy I'd be super healthy and that's definitely gone out the window 🙈

Hopefulmummy7336 · 25/05/2023 12:24

Hi,
Can I tentatively join please? I'm 6+6 and after a MMC late last year went for an early scan and saw a little heartbeat. Huge relief - for about 5 minutes! Wishing I had waited a little longer now before getting a scan, 12 weeks seems so long away.
Wishing everyone a healthy pregnancy and enough symptoms to feel reassured without it being awful!

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 12:29

@aw9870 luckily I'm craving apples right now so not all bad! But yeah, whatever works right!

@Hopefulmummy7336 welcome! Also here after a mc in feb, booked my scan for 8 weeks as that's where I had issues last time (baby stopped growing 7.5 weeks) but yeah even then feels a very long time between other scans, I'm only 6 weeks so still 2 weeks to go before any scans for me 😂

cossie13 · 25/05/2023 13:07

Thanks for the second thread 😊

@Wanderlust86 sorry the scan didn't go well, sending love

TunnocksTCake · 25/05/2023 13:17

So sorry @Wanderlust86 Take care of yourself x

Lightningrain · 25/05/2023 14:05

Has anyone been told what (if any) medication for hayfever is safe to use?

I haven’t had contact from the midwife yet to check but I’ve noticed my hayfever seems to be starting up this week. I’ve held off on taking anything as it’s not too bad yet but I know I’ll be struggling in a few weeks if they recommend against taking anything.

Redpanda21 · 25/05/2023 14:14

@Lightningrain I was told last pregnancy a year or so ago, no to them.

I think I used hay fever wipes

Lightningrain · 25/05/2023 14:41

@Redpanda21 thank you. I thought that might be the case from what I could see on Google but a couple of websites suggested eye drops and nasal sprays might be ok, or that some are ok after the first trimester.

I’ll ask anyway once I get to see a midwife. I imagine I’ll be spending a lot of time inside this summer if it’s a no!

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 15:10

@Lightningrain I asked this last time, and tbh they were just like use saline nasal sprays and that was about it.... some are safe, but they just try not to prescribe anything, but if it's bad i'd ask, mine did say to come back if it was bad and they'd "consider" something else....

Tbh the tablet i'm on for nausea is also an antihistamine and is safe so i don't know why they don't just prescribe that, they seem not inclined to help with anything apparently we're all just meant to be miserable for 9 months!
