Hi guys. Another new thread here.
Baby #2 for us. Currently 17wk5. Baby due 24th Oct.
20 week scan on 9th June - planning to not finder out sex. We didn't with our 1st and loved the excitement of not knowing. We literally bought a pack of 6 white babygrows to take to the hospital and then when our DS was born we got loads of boys clothes from family & friends as gifts.
This worked well for us as I felt he did wear everything more than once.
My sis who found out she was having a little girl bought loads of clothes herself and then all the gifts from family too. She felt as though alot of it was wasted either only worn once if at all. Some stuff still had tags on when she took it to the charity shop xx

@OrionNebula have a look here: https://www.swft.nhs.uk/download_file/view/541/679&ved=2ahUKEwjOq6aoi62AAxWrXUEAHZI4AhgQFnoECBsQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3ICX14QoWdKBaDt5X2onEO

And here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/babys-development/play-and-learning/keep-baby-or-toddler-active/
It says no more than 20 minutes. The first pdf explains the issues. Baby walkers and jumpers (e.g. the ones you hang on the door or jumperoos) have been banned in Canada. They can delay development. I don't think it's worth taking the risk. And when money is involved/government banning a product, I don't trust them to take the right decision.

@Alexandra07 that's interesting. DD would never sit in hers for longer than about 10-15 mins anyway!

cruciverbalista · 27/07/2023 12:07

Thought I'd been doing so well not getting stretch marks. Realized this morning they are all on the underside of my belly, which I haven't been able to see in months 😂😭

Hopefulx · 27/07/2023 12:35

@peonygirl thank you! You were right it wasn’t so bad in the bum.

@Summer022 @LaVitesse2022 @ES1986 thought id update you on the anti D I had this morning. They gave me it on the right top bit of my bum but she said every hospital is different, some do bum, some do arm and others get it in their thigh. It’s completely fine, there is nothing to worry about. It just stings a bit and takes a bit longer to inject but not long at all maybe like 10 seconds? I’m a wuss and I found it fine so you ladies will be all good :)

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 27/07/2023 13:56

@Hopefulx thank you! I’m getting mine today, currently stuck in a very busy, very stuffy waiting room and so far it’s 25 mins after when I was supposed to get seen. The staff on reception here are so rude too! Such a shame because the midwives are just wonderful and at the other hospital I go to for appointments the reception team are lovely. Roll on being back home with a cold drink and a comfy seat 😂

Smiffette · 27/07/2023 15:00

@cruciverbalista that's where I got them in my last few weeks of pregnancy with DD! I too thought I'd done well until I spotted them there, only a few and I didn't even notice them once the bump went.

@cruciverbalista try the Elemis Japanese Camelia body oil, i love it. It’s supposed to be really good for preventing stretch marks too.

@Hopefulx thank you so much for the update! I just came on here to ask you how it went! That’s a big relief to hear, I am normally ok with needles and find having blood taken or injections absolutely fine, but this one really freaked me out. I’m so glad you found it ok - have you had any side affects or are you feeling fine afterwards? Xx

LaVitesse2022 · 28/07/2023 12:16

@Hopefulx that's great to know thanks so much for the update!

The thread is almost full, could someone make a new one??

LWestYorks · 28/07/2023 18:59

Has anyone gone super tired again? I’m 30 weeks this Monday and for the last week or so I’m needing an afternoon nap…I didn’t feel too bad in the second trimester!

Also, has anyone had/got polyhydramnios in this pregnancy?
