Hi guys. Another new thread here.
Baby #2 for us. Currently 17wk5. Baby due 24th Oct.
20 week scan on 9th June - planning to not finder out sex. We didn't with our 1st and loved the excitement of not knowing. We literally bought a pack of 6 white babygrows to take to the hospital and then when our DS was born we got loads of boys clothes from family & friends as gifts.
This worked well for us as I felt he did wear everything more than once.
My sis who found out she was having a little girl bought loads of clothes herself and then all the gifts from family too. She felt as though alot of it was wasted either only worn once if at all. Some stuff still had tags on when she took it to the charity shop xx

I'm expecting our first child, a boy, on 30th September. I was originally an Oct due date and let's be honest he'll probably be late! 21 weeks and finally feeling pretty good so hope it lasts 🤍💙

VanillaOat · 21/05/2023 19:33

Place marking at 20+1! 20w scan tomorrow morning, can’t wait!

Thank you all for your kind and reassuring messages on the other thread regarding the experience I had with the drunk and rude lady at the bbq 🫶 feeling much better today but safe to say I won’t be putting myself in similar situations in the future!!

Cammy23 · 21/05/2023 20:02

Marking my place. 1st baby due 24th October. Have 20 week scan 5th June. Planning to keep sex a surprise. I've been naughty and bought a few things 😬 thought if I get things bit by bit it wont feel like such of a hit later on

DancingNancies · 21/05/2023 20:43

Jumping on the place marking bandwagon!

#3 due 16th October, 2DS already and this is defo last baby so finding out the sex on 31st May if baby lets us!

Both my boys had neutral clothes and all types of toys but they both love vehicles, dinosaurs and football so so much for me trying to avoid stereotypes - they've chosen to adhere to them despite my efforts! 😂

Chanteuse · 21/05/2023 20:46

Place marking! Baby boy #1 due 8th October- 20w today and 20w scan is Tuesday! 💙

I’ve found the conversation about finding out gender really interesting- I’m the complete opposite to most and find surprises really anxiety inducing! DH is organising my 30th bday party and I know nothing about it - the thought of it makes me sick! So it was a no brainer for me when it came to whether or not to find out!

Lots of people having scans on 31/05 - my birthday, great date 😌😂

SillyOldBear3 · 21/05/2023 21:06

First baby due 17 October, will find out the sex at the 20 week scan on the 30th! I haven't bought anything yet but have been putting money aside. My MIL has gifted us a high chair though!

Itsokaymama · 21/05/2023 21:30

Its so exciting seeing everyones journeys!
we found out today that we are having another girl💗 due 29th sept (was originally an October due date)

Kat32x · 21/05/2023 21:49

Hi all, marking my place, haven't been on here for a while! Baby no 2, another little girl 💓 due 30th Sep, had my 20 week scan last week :)

doeandfawn · 21/05/2023 23:43

@Chanteuse my 28th was today, DH got me a 3D scan earlier in the week as my gift as I’m exactly the same, hate surprises! HBD when it comes.

Phoenixwings1989 · 21/05/2023 23:46

Marking my place :)

Baby no.2 due 20th October but will most likely be having a planned section so will be a week early on the 13th which will be our wedding anniversary! I had a private gender scan last Wednesday which revealed we're having another girl 🩷. 20 week scan is next Wednesday on the 31st. It still seems an age away even though it's just over a week.

I find surprises anxiety inducing too and DH likes being organised, so it seemed the right thing for us to find out. I'm in awe of those of you who are waiting until the birth. I admire your patience for sure 😊

We haven't bought anything yet, either but we've put money away for when the time comes. Nor have we told anyone - partly because of being cautious and feeling like we'll jinx things of we do 😔.

BeaKind · 21/05/2023 23:54

For those doing this for the second (or more) time round, is there anything new you’re buying?

I might upgrade our car seat to a spinner but other than that I don’t think we need anything 😬 I feel like I’m missing something?

Mamabear345 · 22/05/2023 03:53

Place marking. Baby girl #2 due October 2nd. 🎀

LaVitesse2022 · 22/05/2023 08:34

I agree with you @Alexandra07 . Its about giving them a wide range of options and letting them experiment and choose. But I think it's harder to let a boy do "girly" things though than the opposite. For a girl to like football, dinosaurs, etc it's not a big deal, but for a boy to like princesses and sparkly things that's less accepted. I feel like boys have a much narrower range of ways they can be and things they can like than girls, which is a shame :( Even when you want to do things differently it's so bloody ingrained! I wouldn't have a problem dressing a girl with some blue dungarees but putting a pink skirt or frilly blouse on a little boy I'm not sure I could 😬 And I'd say I'm aware of the gender stereotype thing more than the average person as I fight against it every day in my day job! As I said, interesting self-discovery this pregnancy has been...

Smiffette · 22/05/2023 08:47

Can't believe it's the 7th thread!

Place marking.

Baby no.2 due 17th October and it's a boy!

One very excited big sister (3 next month)

Smiffette · 22/05/2023 08:51

@BeaKind we kept almost everything so fingers crossed there's not too much we need to get.

Definitely getting a new change bag
Have just got DD new bedroom furniture so the nursery bits she had can go in the new baby's room.

Would really love to buy a new travel system but can't justify it as the one we have is fine. From memory DD didn't really like the pram / carrycot element of it anyway so we rarely used that and she grow out of the car seat at 9 months as she was so long! So I'm going to stick with it until this one grows out of it then buy a brand new pushchair instead of the whole system. And the same joie car seat we got for her which does until 12 or whatever the age limit is!

Smiffette · 22/05/2023 08:53

@AlongcameLainey and @SillyOldBear3 we are due date buddies!

My first was 5 days late but hoping this one is more punctual

VictoriaBlossom · 22/05/2023 09:07

Making my place!
Due 24th October
20 week scan 12th June

Can't wait to find out the sex!

doeandfawn · 22/05/2023 09:27

We’re planning buying everything we can secondhand (obviously not mattresses or car seat though!)

peonygirl · 22/05/2023 09:55

@doeandfawn same! all my friends with kids advised this so I am checking Facebook Marketplace. Will buy only necessary items new (car seat, mattress) and some clothes that I want to keep as a memento (the outfit the baby comes home in, for example).

AlongcameLainey · 22/05/2023 11:48

@Smiffette and @SillyOldBear3 ahh that’s nice! I was wondering if anyone had the same date! Mine will likely change if I have to have the section though!

OrionNebula · 22/05/2023 12:08

20 weeks yesterday, halfway there Smile I feel rotten today though, had a cold for about a week which yesterday has turned into a nasty sinus infection and have no voice. I hate being ill when I'm pregnant, not only does everything seem to hit me 10 times as hard but there's also the anxiety of whether anything will happen to the baby. Fortunately she is kicking a lot today which is helping.

cruciverbalista · 22/05/2023 12:11

Anyone else still puking? I'm down to only once a week or so, but it's quite sudden and violent when it does happen. 20+1 so I think it's here to stay-- so much for the superstition that you don't get as sick with a boy!

LWestYorks · 22/05/2023 12:54

Placemarking!

Baby boy due 9th October 🥰💙 x

xLMCx · 22/05/2023 13:21

Just marking my place. Due on Halloween 🎃 gender scan on 07/06 🎉

SillyOldBear3 · 22/05/2023 14:03

@Smiffette @AlongcameLainey aw lovely to have due date twins! 😊 I'm so excited to find out the sex! Also felt some obvious movement today for the first time!
