Hello all. Here is a fresh thread to fill up with lots of chitchat and milestones. So sorry if I’ve missed anyone out or got the EDD wrong. I tried to look back through but there were so many messages 😅 I’m sure I must’ve missed some people out. Many apologies, it wasn’t intentional. Sending hugs to all. 🥰🌈👶🏻🤰🏻

Thank you for sorting the new thread @CaliGirl47 🥰

poochielagrande · 11/04/2023 20:54

Thank you @CaliGirl47 🥰❤️ Mine is 29 September

log51 · 11/04/2023 21:03

Ahh thanks so much @CaliGirl47 been very quiet on here as had a week away in Scotland and had a digital detox! Have my 16 week appointment on Monday and looking forward to hearing the heartbeat as I don’t really feel much has changed for me in the past few weeks, don’t feel any bigger and haven’t felt any movement yet (I know it’s prob early with it being my first as well!)

Astar21 · 11/04/2023 23:07

@CaliGirl47 thank you for the new thread! So so happy to hear you had a wonderful scan! Excited for you for the big reveal on Thursday 💗💙

Goneaboutthiswrong · 12/04/2023 07:04

Thank you for sorting new thread @CaliGirl47 my EDD is 8th September, so I’m nearly 19 weeks now. Not sure about feeling movements as I always think I feel something then it’s gone as quick as it started. Everything is going well otherwise. My subchoronic hematoma stopped bleeding around 15 weeks, so I’m happy and feeling ‘normal’ again.
Its good to see the updated list and see who’s close to my EDD @tinkerbell098

Tinkerbell098 · 12/04/2023 12:23

@CaliGirl47 thanks so much for creating the thread and for the nice words on the previous thread.

@Goneaboutthiswrong oh that is so close to my EDD. I'm not convinced I've felt anything real yet either. This is my first pregnancy to progress this far, so not sure what I'm meant to be feeling!

I've finally told my boss now. I said "I have a personal update" and his face was all blank! He prob thought I was going to say that I'm leaving the company as a few of my old team mates have left recently and the team is a mess at the moment. But he seemed happy for me when I told him the news.

kl1999 · 12/04/2023 16:59

@CaliGirl47 Thanks for creating a new thread!!

Sorry I have been quiet. Been super busy doing those jobs around the house and garden that you always seem to put off 😅 Hope everyone had a good bank holiday!

Congratulations to all of you who had scans recently!! Glad they all went well ❤

@Hopefulbee & @00Bubbles00 Congratulations on your baby girls 💗

@CaliGirl47 Hope you have a wonderful reveal tomorrow my lovely, can't wait to hear all about it 🌷

Hope everyone is feeling positive and good! Thanks to those that messaged on the previous thread, I am feeling much better thank you for asking 🥰

I have my 16wk midwife appt tomorrow at the GP and I also have a private gender scan this Saturday to find out if we are 💗 or 💙 - so excited!!!

HopefulBee · 12/04/2023 18:47

@CaliGirl47 Thanks so much for creating this new thread! I’m so excited for you finding out the gender. ☺️

@Tinkerbell098 glad your boss took it well and was happy for you. It feels so much better when your colleagues are pleased for you right?

@Littleheart5, I told my supervisor and closest colleagues at 14 weeks, once I knew the NIPT and dating scan went well. I have a super supportive all female team so it wasn’t too difficult. Told the rest of my colleagues over the following weeks, some are still finding out. It’s nice once people know in my experience. Most people are genuinely happy for you. ☺️

Littleheart5 · 12/04/2023 20:30

Thanks so much @CaliGirl47 , great to see everyone’s EDD all together!

Littleheart5 · 12/04/2023 20:32

@HopefulBee I decided to postpone for another week 🙈 I’ve a scan on Tuesday so will tell on Wednesday, some colleagues have definitely guessed- my work shirts show the mini-bump!

kl1999 · 13/04/2023 11:15

Morning lovely people, hope you are all feeling well 🌷🥰

Just got back from my 16wk midwife appt and I was super surprised! She used a doppler to listen to baby's heartbeat. It was absolutely surreal and incredible. I wasn't expecting it to be a thing, especially as I know some of you said your midwife didn't do it/or offer it.

That was the first time I have actually heard the heartbeat, my eyes started to water lol. She said it was such a strong heartbeat and she was really pleased with it. I've been feeling a little low these past few days on and off, but hearing the heartbeat has me on such a high right now ❤🌈

@CaliGirl47 Hope you have a wonderful day today my lovely xxx

Houseelf90 · 13/04/2023 13:05

@kl1999 so pleased you got to hear baby’s heartbeat! What a magical experience! I have my 16 week appt next Friday (a bit late!) and I’m really hoping my midwife offers it! Pleased that it’s cheered you up a bit too!

Can’t wait to hear about your gender reveal @CaliGirl47 💙💕

kl1999 · 13/04/2023 14:20

@Houseelf90 Thank you so much! It was such a beautiful moment. I just wish my DP was allowed to come with me. I know he would have been made up to hear the heartbeat himself ❤

I do understand why some don't offer it, but my midwife found the baby and the heartbeat within a minute, if that! Guess it's down to the individual professional and the trust you are under too.

Hope all goes well next Friday for you my lovely. Let us know how you get on xx

Skw11 · 13/04/2023 15:13

@kl1999 i had my 16wk today (17+3) and heard the heartbeat too! Magic 😍 I def started to panic as she was looking for it even though she's warned me it can take a moment "like looking for a needle in a haystack". And felt quite emotional when she found it. I also wish I'd taken my husband, I could have done as mine allow it but we just didn't think about doing so! He'll hear it at our 20wk I guess. Surprised I won't see midwife again til wk25, I guess that's when it all starts ramping up.

Midwife also said to me today "I know it can be hard but do try and enjoy it as much as you can, you're almost half way already" and that's stuck with me and thought I'd pass on ♥ sending you all love!

Houseelf90 · 13/04/2023 15:47

@kl1999 it still surprises me that they don’t allow partners. What if something is wrong and they can’t find the heartbeat, I wouldn’t be able to cope alone!! I wonder if that’s still a post covid thing or if your trust has always been that way!

@Skw11 so pleased you got to hear the heartbeat too!! I can’t wait till next Friday now!! I guess the waiting for them to find it prepares you a little for waiting for the baby to cry once you’ve delivered!!

I’ve had a letter about my GTT appointment in July, a little shocked that I have to wait 2 hours between blood tests and have to go alone, that’s going to be so boring!!! I’m going to try and see if they have wifi when I go for my 20 week scan and if they do I’ll take my work laptop to at least keep me a little bit busy, and soften the blow to my manager that I’m going to be missing for half the day, again!!

CaliGirl47 · 13/04/2023 22:18

Aww that’s amazing! I’m so pleased that you got to hear baby’s heartbeat @kl1999 it’s such a lovely experience. 💓 So happy for you. 🤗 Can’t wait to hear how your gender scan goes on Saturday 😁💙💗

I hope you have a great appointment on Friday with a lovely midwife who’s a pro at the Doppler so you can hear baby’s heartbeat. 🤗 @Houseelf90

I’m soo pleased you got to hear baby’s heartbeat 😍😍 @Skw11 and thank you for sharing what the midwife said. That’s such a great reminder. Really brings me comfort. 💓 Crazy to think we’ve almost made it halfway. So exciting.

It was so nice to be with family this evening but I am absolutely shattered today. DH and DD popped a ballon and it was pink! 💗💗💗 I was absolutely shocked to find out we are having a baby girl. I really thought it was a boy this time. But it will be really useful to be able to pass on all the hand me down clothes from DD, and DH is over the moon because the kids can share a room for as long as they like now. No pressure to move house. Haha. It’s been a lovely joyful day all around. And now I can hopefully start to narrow down a list of names. 😆🙈

Houseelf90 · 13/04/2023 22:47

Ahhh congratulations @CaliGirl47, and a beautiful little girl she will be I’m sure! Also handy about not having to move house! I bet your DD was so happy!

HopefulBee · 14/04/2023 06:48

@CaliGirl47 congratulations on your little girl! I can imagine it was a surprise if you thought it was a boy. But it’s true that it’s handy and probably lovely for your DD. We are team two girls too and are really excited. From what we hear, many people say that their two girls are really close friends which would be so lovely 💕💕.

Great that @kl1999 and @Skw11 you got to hear your baby’s heart beat! I find it weird that some say it’s too early, in NL they listen every time from 13 weeks on. Never had a problem finding it. Such a special sound right? 🥰

Littleheart5 · 14/04/2023 10:07

Ah huge congrats @CaliGirl47 ! How lovely to have two little sisters growing up together 💕

kl1999 · 14/04/2023 10:14

@Skw11 Ahhh how lovely you got to hear the heartbeat too!!❤ I really wasn't expecting it, it took me completely by surprise but in the best possible way.

@Houseelf90 I know! For the scan appointments, he is more than welcome to be there. But my general midwife appointments at the GP is just for me only. I do agree, having support from your partner at every appointment should be a very normal thing, regardless of area and trust. Really not sure why mine doesn't allow it!

@CaliGirl47 Ahhhh congratulations!! 💗🌈💕 So pleased to hear you had such a wonderful day with your family yesterday. How exciting for your DD to have a little sister too!

@HopefulBee Thank you so much ❤ It really is/was such a special and magically sound. It took my breath away, honestly! NL really seem to be more advanced than the UK. I really wish the heartbeat hour, that you mentioned before, was a thing over here. It sounds wonderful 🥰

Houseelf90 · 14/04/2023 11:06

@kl1999 its very strange isn’t it. Especially if he is a first time daddy, I’d feel like he was missing out!! I know a lot of appointments can just be checking bloods etc but then when they let you listen to the heartbeat, he should definitely be allowed to hear that too 😞

kl1999 · 14/04/2023 12:56

@Houseelf90 100%, I felt so bad yesterday that I got to listen to the heartbeat and he didn't! This is our first baby, so we're both so excited but also have no idea what will happen with each appointment (google can be very contradicting). We have our gender scan tomorrow, so I'm really hoping they let us listen to the heartbeat. I know it would make him so so happy. Fingers crossed 🤞❤

Houseelf90 · 14/04/2023 13:14

@kl1999 yes I would feel guilty but at the same time I couldn’t resist having a listen! Fingers crossed he can have a listen at the gender scan, I can’t wait to hear what you’re having! 💖💙

Daisy155 · 14/04/2023 13:23

Aww @CaliGirl47 congratulations on your baby girl that’s absolutely amazing 💕💕 and that’s so exciting that your DD will have a little sister!!!

thank you so much for the tag as well 💕

@kl1999 good luck for tomorrow how exciting and hopefully he gets to hear the heartbeat!! 🥰

HopefulBee · 14/04/2023 13:29

@kl1999 We had this problem during Covid with our first pregnancy. I used to record the heartbeat on my phone each time and my partner was sooo happy. It’s really a shame when they don’t get to be there. It’s their baby too after all. Luckily now he gets to come to all the appointments but for those of you dealing with restrictive policies maybe a little video or Audio recording will let them feel like they can still take part in another way?
