Hello all. Here is a fresh thread to fill up with lots of chitchat and milestones. So sorry if I’ve missed anyone out or got the EDD wrong. I tried to look back through but there were so many messages 😅 I’m sure I must’ve missed some people out. Many apologies, it wasn’t intentional. Sending hugs to all. 🥰🌈👶🏻🤰🏻

Thank you all 💕 is the group majority girls now? I’ve got a feeling baby is a boy, but we wait till Monday!
@Bizzybee900 I’ve joined a free online hypo birthing course for Tuesday, I’m hoping I take notes and remember everything I learn in September.

CaliGirl47 · 28/04/2023 12:15

Hello ladies. So much to catch up on. So exciting about all the scans and seeing baby.

congratulations on a baby girl! @Tinkerbell098 😍🤗 So glad you had a great scan.

and I’m glad your scan went well too @HopefulBee 🤗💗 Such a lovely time now. I hope in general everyone is feeling well and has a bit more energy back.

All has been okay here these last couple of weeks. 19 weeks along and we have our anatomy scan on Monday which is funny since it’s a bank holiday. But I’m just really looking forward to seeing baby and making sure she is okay. I think I’ll be very relieved once that is over and hopefully all is well. 🙏🏻 Hope you all have a good weekend. And all the best to those with scans today and in the coming days.

That’s so odd what your sonographer said about writing down the sex of baby. @Goneaboutthiswrong Hopefully Monday will roll around very quickly for you and hubby can keep the secret until then.🎂🍰👶🏼💗💙 Haha no talking in his sleep 😆 🤫

@Houseelf90 @HopefulBee @kl1999 thanks for the well wishes, the 20 week scan went well! So so pleased. Had to do a couple of walks around the hospital to get baby into the right positions so were there a while but saw baby lots as a result! Couldn't believe how much detail they check like the heart and kidneys, amazing. We found out the sex and keeping it quiet for now, see how long that lasts 😂 feels much more real now, can't believe it's finally happening for us ♥🌈 x

Bizzybee900 · 30/04/2023 01:20

Sounds amazing @skw11 what a special experience!
Thank you for your replies @HopefulBee I hadn't actually thought about looking at online birthing cource @Goneaboutthiswrong but it's a really good idea, will look into that!
Good luck @CaliGirl47 for your scan!

Daisy155 · 30/04/2023 07:55

Congratulations to everyone who has had their scans how exciting 🥰 @Goneaboutthiswrong I hope you have a wonderful gender reveal and hubby is doing ok I would struggle to keep this exciting news 😂💕

@CaliGirl47 good luck at the scans on Monday! Hope you’re also having a lovely weekend 🥰

@Skw11 thats lovely congratulations on your scan and good news x

HopefulBee · 01/05/2023 08:00

@Skw11 congrats on the good scan and finding out the gender, how exciting!

@CaliGirl47 good luck with your scan today 🥰.

@Goneaboutthiswrong Enjoy today! What a special moment for you 🥰.

Daisy155 · 01/05/2023 10:56

Morning everyone, hope everyone is having a lovely bank holiday and I hope your scan goes well @CaliGirl47 💕xx

I was just wondering, has anyone stayed the same weight since pregnancy. I have literally stayed the same and it feels like I am losing weight! But in a weird way staying the same weight as my belly gets bigger each day!

I eat healthy food as I have GD, but I was expecting to have gained some weight by now but nothing! I am getting a little bit worried! I’m 20 weeks and thought some clothes wouldn’t fit but they do except for trousers. I have my scan on Wednesday and I will ask if baby looks a healthy weight I hope they can tell then.

I was thinking of upping my calories but I really don’t know how, because I eat as much as I can every day.

I feel baby kick and all seem good and I feel good but just worried, anyone else experiencing this?

Skw11 · 01/05/2023 11:50

Hi @daisy155 I have had similar, I don't track my weight daily or anything but have weighed myself a couple of times since finding out and it's stayed pretty constant despite bump and boobs growing. My tops and dresses all fit, just trousers I'm in maternity and bras I've had to swap but I'm no. I did read you "don't need any extra calories" while pregnant until the end but some days I bl**dy feel like I do and am ravenous! I hope this helps, I'm pretty sure every body is different and listening to how hungry you feel and keeping up nutritious food is all you can do - I make sure I get the good stuff as well as delicious sugary snacks! They'll start measuring bump soon and you may get growth scans if its small which I expect will reassure you x

Daisy155 · 01/05/2023 18:24

@Skw11 thank you ♥️ for saying this because I have just only gained boobs and stomach that’s it, my first and second pregnancy both boys by now I had gained weight and wouldn’t be able to fit my usual clothes! So I was just getting really concerned!

This pregnancy had just been so different from both previous pregnancies. I also have very clear skin for the first time in years! I am very happy about this definitely as I suffer from adult acne but the weight loss worried me.

And like you I have moments were I am so hungry and I eat loads but nothing.

CaliGirl47 · 01/05/2023 20:04

I’m sure that baby is taking just what they need from you and getting all the nutrients needed. @Daisy155 I know (especially after loss) there’s so many things we look for to try to make sure “everything is going okay”. I think you’re quite brave for even stepping on the scales personally. I don’t think I’ve stepped on a scale since before I was pregnant and I’m not sure if I will throughout any of this pregnancy. But each to their own. It can be tricky with GD so as long as your nutrition consultant is happy with everything, then I’m sure all is well. I had read that as well that no extra calories are needed until the third trimester and even then it’s only an extra 200 calories a day which is nothing. 😂 Some days I feel ravenous and some days I’ve definitely noticed my usual portion sizes reducing because I reach a point where I feel full quite quickly. Maybe because of all of my organs being pushed up to make room for baby. Haha. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy. 🤗

Thanks all for the well wishes with the scan. It was a bit of an odd one because I got a very quiet and soft spoken sonographer. I had to keep asking him “is everything okay?” Because he’d say “there’s the heart…….there’s the stomach” and then he’d have a concerned/concentrated look on his face. So then I’d have to ask to make sure he was happy with what he saw 😅 and all he’d say is “yes” 🙃 I guess he was just very focused. Baby was positioned in such a way that we couldn’t see her heart or face so he had me do some star jumps 🙈 and she still wouldn’t budge, so I have to go back in two weeks. I’m hoping I get someone else who narrates a bit more 😄

@CaliGirl47 I had to walk around to get mine moving too! Be nice for you too see baby again in two weeks though and I bet this one has already given them a really good idea of how baby is doing 😊 so lovely to hear all this good scan news xxx

Daisy155 · 02/05/2023 11:09

@CaliGirl47 oh no 😅 about the sonographer, I would have felt frustrated I hope in 2 weeks you get someone who will be able to give you more detail! I hope baby is in full view too so you can see everything!

yes that’s what I read too that you only need to up a few calories at the end! I did some research yesterday and I think it’s normal not to gain so much! I guess it’s because I am just eating my normal portions and it’s the healthiest food I have been consuming so I guess this was bound to happen I feel a lot calmer now!

I have my scan tomorrow really excited and nervous, my husband thinks it’s a girl because I have had no cravings etc but I think it’s a boy! We are doing a little gender reveal in the afternoon just the 2 of us and our son.

I am so excited, I just can’t believe how time is going by so fast!

kl1999 · 02/05/2023 17:07

Been so busy with work these past few days, trying to play catch up. Sorry in advance for such a long message!

@Astar21 @log51 @HopefulBee Thanks for your feedback re movements. I think I am starting to feel little flutters here and there. But definitely know everyone and every body is completely different! 💕

@Tinkerbell098 Congratulations on having a girl! This thread really is team pink at the moment lol 😂💗

@Goneaboutthiswrong So glad your scan went well and you got to see baby lots. How magical 🌷 I hope you had a lovely gender reveal yesterday xxx

@CaliGirl47 Hope you are doing okay my lovely! I was actually speaking to another MTB today and she said, she has found that with her NHS scans the sonographers seem to be less talkative in comparison to when you have private scans. After she said it, I really did agree! I guess the NHS sonographers really are wanting to check every detail, which is great, but the silence doesn't always give you the comfort and reassurance, we all so desperately need! At least you get to see her in another two weeks ❤ Hope they are able to see what they need to next time xxx

@Skw11 So glad your scan went well 🥰 Best of luck keeping it a secret for as long as you can, you have a stronger will than me! 😅❤

@Daisy155 I'm pretty sure I am still the same weight as just before pregnancy. My appetite has definitely decreased, I find myself not eating as much as I normally would. A lot of it was down to sickness in the early stages I think. This is actually the best I have eaten in along time! Had no cravings as of yet either. I would say, whether we put weight on or not, the baby will always get everything they need, before us, (which is why we feel so rough sometimes lol). So I would try not to worry to much. My bump is "kind of" there and my boobs are much bigger, but other than that, I look and feel the same. It's so strange isn't it!

Tinkerbell098 · 02/05/2023 17:38

Thanks everyone! Yes, seems most of us are team pink here. Congratulations to everyone who've had their 20w scans and gender reveals and good luck to those who are yet to have theirs. Exciting times!!

@Bizzybee900 I signed up to an NCT course which starts end of June. Have heard good things about it and you also get to meet other couples with similar due dates. I would definitely recommend looking at a course.

Astar21 · 02/05/2023 18:43

Had my 20w scan yesterday and all looked great! It was such a relief! Still team yellow over here 💛😄

@CaliGirl47 pleased to hear your scan went well too despite the sonographer! And at least you get to see them again in 2 weeks 🩷😀 It really depends on who you get doing the scan. I've had one before that was so matter of fact. But the lady I had yesterday was so lovely and informative, she made it a really nice experience.

@Daisy155 hope your scan goes well tomorrow and enjoy the gender reveal! How exciting! I wouldn't worry about no weight change. It's still early days and amazing your eating healthy. I've definitely been craving more sweet stuff, which I'm trying to rein in 😣😂

kl1999 · 03/05/2023 10:07

@Astar21 Lovely news about your scan, so glad it went well xxx Go team yellow! 💛😅

@Daisy155 Hope your scan goes well today my lovely. Enjoy your gender reveal also, it sounds so intimate and lovely! How special ❤🥰🌈

Best of luck to all of you with upcoming scans, mine is on Friday. We're all nearly or already at the half way mark - wow... it's insane 🤯

Daisy155 · 03/05/2023 15:06

Hi all thank you so much for the advice regarding the weight, you were right! Everything was confirmed today and the baby is the right weight and they are happy with everything!

We have now done our gender reveal and I actually can’t believe it we are having a baby Girl, I have had all boys and I was conceived it was a boy again!

But no it’s a girl 💕 I asked her to make sure it was correct as we were doing our picnic reveal today! It’s such a beautiful day too! And she said yes I have triple checked and baby won’t close their legs 😂 and she wrote it down.

It was a lovely scan compared to everything last year that happened! Everything went really welll happy baby girl is healthy 💕

kl1999 · 03/05/2023 15:18

@Daisy155 Oh how magical I truly am so so happy for you 💗💗

Another one for team pink haha 😂🥰

So pleased for you. I hope you have a lovely afternoon celebrating ❤🌈

log51 · 03/05/2023 16:48

@Daisy155 how fabulous congrats!

There are definitely more girls on the thread, I have my scan and finding out on Sat which makes me even more convinced I'm having a boy!

kl1999 · 03/05/2023 18:23

@log51 let us know how you get on my lovely! Blue team is kinda lonely at the moment 🤣💙 xxx

Houseelf90 · 03/05/2023 18:29

@Daisy155 so pleased you had a good scan!! I can’t believe the amount of girls on this thread!!

Good luck @log51 and anyone else who has scans coming up, mine is next Wednesday! Hoping the BH weekend makes it go quicker with it only being the 2nd working day of the week rather than 3rd!

My bump seems to be expanding rapidly at the moment so I kind of have the opposite concerns to @Daisy155 and I’m now worried how huge I’m going to end up 🙈🙈 there’s no way I can hide it now even in baggy clothes, and as much as it is fairly firm I also think it’s down to me eating a lot too….yesterday I had to eat every 2 hours to help keep the nausea at bay 😩 I’m trying to choose healthier foods and today my snacks have mainly been fruit but the reality is I’m still eating loads. I’ll maybe dare weigh myself in the morning 😬

Daisy155 · 04/05/2023 16:21

Thank you all yes lots of girlies 💕 in here @kl1999 right! I’m so excited 😆 to be her mum!

Good luck to everyone getting their scan done soon @log51 lets us know if it’s a boy definitely!

@Houseelf90 I hope you are ok! As the other ladies say it’s early weeks we all have to do to get through first and second trimester and if that means eating a bit more to keep the nausea at bay so be it. It seems you are also choosing the right things to eat for baby. I was stressing out but was reassured all was ok! For you as long as you’re feeling healthy and baby is ok and you’re trying your best I think that’s all we can do! Xx

HopefulBee · 04/05/2023 19:56

Congrats @Astar21 on the positive scan 💛and @Daisy155 on the great news! Another little girl in the group! I wonder whether this means that team yellow is statistically more likely to end up team blue 🧐. Will be interesting to find out in 5 months.

@Daisy155 and @Houseelf90 I so understand your concerns. With my first I
put on hardly any weight each week and my belly was tiny throughout most of my pregnancy, so I worried the whole time about growth. This time I’m growing a bit faster (it’s slowing down) and weigh more, and now I’m concerned I will put on too much weight. 🙈 The reality is, that every one of us is different and as long as you eat healthy most of the time (treats are allowed!) your body will know exactly what you need. I put on 8kg with my first, which is very little, and my friend put on 25kg. We both were healthy throughout our pregnancies, had healthy babies born at term, and recovered very well.

Houseelf90 · 04/05/2023 20:56

@Daisy155 and @HopefulBee thats so true; everyone is different. I’m trying to still do plenty of walking etc but have cut out my usual form of exercise (horse riding everyday) so I’m probably piling a few pounds on through lack of exercise, but better that than have an accident and harm baby!!
