Hello all. Here is a fresh thread to fill up with lots of chitchat and milestones. So sorry if I’ve missed anyone out or got the EDD wrong. I tried to look back through but there were so many messages 😅 I’m sure I must’ve missed some people out. Many apologies, it wasn’t intentional. Sending hugs to all. 🥰🌈👶🏻🤰🏻

@Bizzybee900 Ahh congratulations!!! 💗 So happy for you. Glad all went well xxx

My metallic/metal taste has thankfully gone now! Probably a solid week/week and a half of back to normal. Hope it goes away for you soon xxx

Houseelf90 · 19/04/2023 19:35

Ahh congratulations @Bizzybee900, I think there are quite a few girls on this thread now 💖

I have the odd day where I have the metallic taste but not too often thankfully!

HopefulBee · 19/04/2023 20:03

Congratulations @Bizzybee900 , and welcome to team baby girl 😉.

I haven’t got a scan until next week (20 week scan) but have a midwife appitnwmbt tomorrow and cannot wait to hear the heartbeat. Have been feeling more flutters recently though which is making me happy. I guess baby is getting stronger.

No metallic taste here , hope it goes away for you soon. I’m now struggling with quite dry skin and trying to figure out what the best lotion is. Never had that with my first.

Bizzybee900 · 19/04/2023 21:05

Thanks for replies, that a comfort that the weird taste has gone for you. I'm a week behind you @kl1999 and @log51 so here's to hoping it my last week too!

Astar21 · 20/04/2023 14:03

Hi girls, how are we all doing? I'm back off my holiday, was so lovely to relax and get some sunshine. It was quite refreshing not having any cocktail hangovers too 😂
I think I've felt a couple of twinges, they're low down to the left and very subtle. Counting down now to the 20w scan 🙏🏼
Also TMI question but is anyone getting increased discharge? I've noticed more than usual like creamy/clear-white.

@Bizzybee900 congratulations on baby girl 💗 there seems to be a lot of girls now on this thread!

Houseelf90 · 20/04/2023 17:39

Glad you had a nice break @Astar21
I’ve had LOADS of creamy white discharge for quite a while now, I would say probably at least the last 5 weeks if not more 🙈

log51 · 20/04/2023 17:41

@Astar21 I've had the discharge the whole pregnancy! I thought it was more a first trimester thing because progesterone has still high but it's not gone off for me at all - TMI but I def need to wear a panty liner every day

Skw11 · 20/04/2023 21:35

@Astar21 I've also had the discharge throughout, I was on progesterone to week 16 so thought it was that but it kept up... Not necessarily nice but def normal, I get the NHS email each week and it's always on the symptoms list.

@HopefulBee my 20 week scan is next week too, next Fri! ♥️

Hope you're all well, my bump has definitely popped out a bit this week so I've ordered maternity jeans and work trousers 😬 getting more flutters too x

HopefulBee · 21/04/2023 07:24

@Astar21 I had more discharge in the first trimester but now it’s kind of gone away. I remember in my first pregnancy I started really noticing it picking up around 22 weeks though so I assume it will return soon for me. Def very normal. Happy to hear you had a nice holiday! When’s your 20 week scan? Mines on Wednesday.

@Skw11 exciting that you have your scan coming up, just one week to go! It’s kind of the highlight for me. It’s the longest we will see baby and they look at everything in such detail. It’s so nice. And you can still see baby very well as they’re not too big yet but big enough. My bump is also growing so I have one pair of mat trousers for work. But still managing with my looser jeans.

Houseelf90 · 21/04/2023 10:39

Just back from my midwife appointment, heard the heartbeat, it was amazing!!! It took a while to find (probably less than a minute, felt an age!!) but baby was quite high up, and had a really strong heartbeat. I didn’t cry at the time but I did well up thinking about it on the way home 😂🙈

kl1999 · 21/04/2023 11:49

@Houseelf90 Oh how lovely! So pleased you got to hear it 💕 It's so magical isn't it!

Houseelf90 · 21/04/2023 11:57

@kl1999 it really is! So loud and clear too! I wanted to record it but too scared to ask 🤣

Good luck to anyone else with appointments/scans today/this weekend!

Astar21 · 21/04/2023 13:07

@Houseelf90 @log51 @Skw11 @HopefulBee thank you girls 🙏🏼 it's so reassuring to hear it's not abnormal! I've also had to put on pantyliners because of it!
My 20w scan is 1st May. So excited for us all to get to this point!!

@Houseelf90 amazing you got to hear the heartbeat ❤️ it's just lovely 🥰

log51 · 21/04/2023 16:46

@Houseelf90 I've just had my appointment and heard the heartbeat too!! How magical

Houseelf90 · 21/04/2023 19:14

@Astar21 pantyliners for me too!

@log51 so pleased you also got to hear the heartbeat!! It certainly helps ease the anxiety! When is your scan?

Bizzybee900 · 23/04/2023 02:03

Appreciate most of you are past 17 weeks but I'm 17 weeks yesterday and have no bump at all yet and no movement felt yet and so was worrying and just did a big Google on 'week 17 bumps' and those images on Google are unreal! I have no bump at all and the images show ladies with I would say quite medium sized bumps! Is that what all your bumps look like? Am I the odd one out?

HopefulBee · 23/04/2023 08:00

@Bizzybee900 I know just how you feel. I had basically no bump until I was 25 weeks with my first and even then people did not realise I was pregnant sometimes. First time mums can take longer to show and depending on your build, muscle strength or just genetic predisposition you might show earlier or later. It doesn’t say anything about the health of your baby or how s/he is growing. My daughter came out a perfect 3.5kg and I never looked really big. Hope this helps ❤️.

Bizzybee900 · 23/04/2023 09:58

That makes sense, hadn't thought of second time mums, phew, thank you @HopefulBee!

Houseelf90 · 23/04/2023 10:21

@Bizzybee900 my bump suddenly appeared within the last week or so, although I still think it’s mainly fat 🤣 I’ve been wearing my maternity jeans through pure comfort but I did manage to wear my normal jeans with a hair bobble on the button Friday. I think it massively depends on your size/frame/weight - I carry a few extra pounds so baby has pushed my fat out but I’ve read many posts on here where people don’t show or need mat clothes until 20+ weeks so I wouldn’t worry (although I know that’s far easier said than done!!)
Don’t forget anything that goes on Google - those people will only post their bump pictures if they have a bump, there are plenty of people at 17 weeks that don’t have a bump photo to post!

HopefulBee · 23/04/2023 20:42

Very good point about when people post bump pictured @Houseelf90 .

By the way @Bizzybee900 just to add, I’ve been feeling like my belly is growing super fast this time, so I googled 18 week bumps a few days ago and was surprised to see mostly pictures of proper bumps. Like medium size, as you called it. Mine can definitely still be easily hidden under regular clothing, I just look like I’ve had a few too many burgers. 😅 Only for me it seems so much bigger already than at this stage last time.

log51 · 24/04/2023 08:46

@Houseelf90 scan is Sat 6 May!

@Bizzybee900 I'm 18 plus 2 now and it's first time - and don't have a proper bump, I would say I just look quite bloated to be honest! My jeans havent fit for a good few weeks but I'd say in floaty work dresses no one would have noticed!

Houseelf90 · 24/04/2023 08:51

@log51 ahh exciting! Mines 10th May!

kl1999 · 24/04/2023 09:08

I think @Houseelf90 summed it up perfectly regarding what pictures you will see on the internet! So try not to fret or compare yourself and your bump to others (although it's easier said than done, I know). We are all so different 💕🌷

I'm 18+2 at the moment and I look/feel very bloated. The very bottom of my stomach is starting to harden/feels firm (if that makes sense) but the middle and top of my stomach is still soft and squidgy. I'm 5ft2, approx 72kgs, normally a size 12. But I do carry most if not all of my weight in my stomach and bum/thigh area. Still fit into all of my regular clothes at the moment though.

Daisy155 · 24/04/2023 21:22

Congratulations @Bizzybee900 for your baby girl 💕🥰🥰

@Astar21 i have had loads since second trimester sometimes I have to change my underwear.

good luck to everyone getting their scan done this week and I am having mine done on the 3rd of May although I will be 20 weeks this week.

I just can not wait to see the baby again I am so excited 😆 xx

Bizzybee900 · 24/04/2023 22:54

So exciting lots of scans in the next couple of weeks! Thanks for your replies everyone ❤️
