Getting close to 4 threads filled - here's number 5!

@PrimarilyParented thank you - this is very interesting - I always assumed that if we took shared parental leave that we'd both have to take time off, so it didn't make sense for us as DH earns far more as I'm part-time. But the first example there suggests otherwise so definitely worth looking into - especially as a later start back to work would also save a small fortune in childcare fees too!

@PrimarilyParented no worries, I know the temptation (and the marketing!) to take them is strong because we want the best for our babies but there's really no evidence they add much to our diets!

@Alexandra07 we're getting married in July when I'll be over 6 months and we're planning a gender reveal to the family and close friends through the wedding cake. It'll have the dough blue or pink so will be a surprise to everyone when we cut it 😊 Why not doing something similar but with a smaller cake? 😉

You’ll never believe this guys but my midwife has changed again 🥴🤣 you couldn’t make this up! 3rd midwife… wonder if I’ll get to meet this one hahaha 🙄

Had a successful 12 week scan today. But... is it possible I've grown a squid and this pic captures it attacking the baby's face??

Oh! Also, I had a chat with the sonographer about nub theory. I thought it was an old wives tale but she told me there is truth in it. However, it is very hard to know you are looking at it from the right angle, and angle is key to figuring out what way the nub is pointing. Apparently getting it right off a scan pic is very hard. Alas!

I think finding the nub is very hard I’ve looked at all my pics and can’t seem to locate it. One min I’m convinced it’s a girl then a boy 😂I’m
not finding out so I’m not really any further forward.
Will u find out?

Forgive my total ignorance but what does nub theory actually mean? What are we looking at on the scan? I know I'm having a girl but curious as I see you all talking about it and don't know what it actually means!

@Chanteuse I wouldn't worry too much about having a designated midwive - as nice as it would have been to have some consistency, I don't think I've seen the same midwife twice at any point in either pregnancy! Have always been told "that's your midwife" but then my appointments were with whoever was available at the times I could make.

Didn't ever feel like it impacted the care I got though, if anything they felt more thorough as they read my notes each time as they were new to them! 🙃

Today is scan day for me! My first one this pregnancy 😁 hoping all is well

@DancingNancies it’s more the fact that when I try and contact them I’ve been ignored, so not hopeful that this one will be bothered 🤣 it’s a bit of a joke now so I’m just going with the flow

I had a scan today at 16w (not in UK) baby was face down but we got a good look at their spine and to my surprise their long legs (I’m very short) 😂we also got a print out of our nipt report but it has the sex in it and we don’t want to know so I need to go and hide it somewhere so I don’t take a sneak peek during a moment of weakness. Have a strong feeling it’s a boy though 💛

Got a midwife appointment at 10, where fasting bloods are being taken. I'm starving 😭
