@Daisy155 that's good that your hubby is prepared to help out with cooking. Mine isn't so keen but I normally really enjoy cooking and have done so the entirety of our relationship so I've made a rod for my own back there haven't I! 😂

I'm going to attempt to batch cook and freeze some meals ready for after we've come home from hospital. Probably not until I'm on mat leave - thinking it may make life that little bit easier in the first few weeks of the unknown (with this being my first baby!)

Something like lasagne/cottage pie/sausage casserole! If anyone's got any other ideas they'd like to share - Please do!

GTT came back as all normal so relieved I don't have to worry about that.

@FlicUK Ah no, definitely not worth the tears 😥Glad you can now relax/put your feet up and get things prepared though!

ThirtyEight38 · 10/07/2023 15:43

I think I’ve missed the boat for batch cooking. Also our freezer is ridiculously small, so will have to rely on the husband and Uber eats at first I think. If I was batch cooking I’d add in some bolognaise, curry and chilli too.

News from my 30 week appointment is I don’t have GD but I am anaemic which explains the fatigue. So I’m taking the dreaded iron tablets. But they’ve decided now there isn’t a problem with the babies so that’s good, and at my last scan they told me they both had hair. At my next appointment I get my date for delivery, hopefully I will also find out if I can have an induction rather than c section.

I also finally bought the pram and car seats, plus I have been given cribs, so now I just need to buy some baby grows and I’m all sorted!

I finish work in 3 weeks, I can’t wait. I am really struggling walking now, so looking forward to the morning routine being more relaxed.

Daisy0909 · 15/08/2023 10:16

Hi everyone, just wanted to check in! Hope you're all coping well as we're approaching the last few weeks.. Even more exciting for those of you having your babies this month!

Wow.. how hard is the third trimester, I am tired 24/7 and have 6 weeks to go 😴Not finishing work until 38 weeks either - May not have been my smartest idea but I wanted more time with baby once they're here - Maybe I'll thank myself afterwards.

Is everyone all prepared?

colourPink · 15/08/2023 17:05

@Daisy0909 I feel you! I'm also planning on working until 38 weeks but I am sooo tired.

Had a glucose test today. I have glucose in my urine and excessive fluid so they think I have gestational diabetes. I'm quite worried tbh! I won't get the results until tomorrow but everything points towards it being positive.

Anyone else have gestational diabetes?

Daisy155 · 16/08/2023 15:54

@Daisy0909 I can’t believe I am almost 36 weeks, we are all in our third trimester how amazing is that!!
@colourPink how did it go?? Don’t be scared I have GD and it’s been actually ok this time around diet controlled and it means more scans of the baby as well and I see how they are doing regularly!

I am now in hospital for the next 9 days, I am currently high risk and I have to monitor baby every single day with scans and heart monitoring! She is completely fine just need to make it to the end both of us safe I am not scared! I am very hopeful everything will be fine 💕

@colourPink It's a tough old slog. I'm lucky I can WFH but even just sat at my desk is so uncomfortable sometimes!

@Daisy155 Ahhhh glad everything is OK but how exciting you get to meet your little girl so soon!!! Wishing you all the best xxx

Daisy155 · 16/08/2023 17:02

Aww @Daisy0909 thank you so much they were going to take her out on Friday 18th but I didn’t feel like she would be ready I think 37 weeks is perfect! So I am so excited

I hope work doesn’t get too much, I am exhausted at the moment I don’t know how you are doing it!!! 😩 but we’ll done I was exhausted by 27 weeks!! And I will update you all when she is here I can’t believe it I will have a little girl soon!! 💕

ThirtyEight38 · 16/08/2023 18:39

@Daisy155 i am having my twins in 9 days too, so we’ll be buddies! How are you feeling? Are you able to get much rest in hospital?

@colourPink that is rubbish about the possible diabetes, hopefully it won’t be too hard to manage, do you know when you’ll get your results?

@Daisy0909 you are doing amazing to still be at work. I’m exhausted just getting dressed at the moment.

The summer seems to have returned by me now, I cannot cope with the heat at all! Hoping it cools down again soon.

Superunknown1 · 16/08/2023 19:34

So exciting that everyone is so close to meeting our babies!! I wanted to work quite close to baby’s birth (I have an elective c-section date for September 13th) but commuting at 34 weeks and measuring 6 weeks ahead bump size had just absolutely wiped me out so tomorrow is my last day before mat leave! Hoping that I’ve made the right call, the heat these past weeks has just been unbearable and I am hoping to use the 4 weeks ahead to get my house in order etc.! When is everyone else packing in work? In awe of posters above working until 38 weeks, you are far more resilient than I 😁

Daisy155 · 18/08/2023 21:51

@ThirtyEight38 that's amazing we are having our babies this close, I have just been informed baby has to be taken out 2 days earlier now, she is doing fine.

But I have adhesions and also it's my 3rd c section so they wanted loads of surgeons on the day and I am happy with that so she is coming out 36 weeks 5 days! I can not wait to see her shame I can't prepare my hospital bag.

But my DH, has been getting me clothes and I am hoping I have enough until operation day.

How are you feeling about everything? And seeing the twins in a few days time :)
I am so excited to hear from you next week!!

@Superunknown1 wow measuring 6 weeks ahead! aww yes you must feel so shuttered, I packed in work about 10 weeks ago I couldn't carry on I was extremely exhausted and I am glad because imagine if I carried on I would have probably been in a worse situation at the hospital now.

I really do wish I could have been able to clean the house but DH said he has started, I am just hoping to see the house tidy when the baby gets here. He is so excited though he really does have the nesting bug lol

Only 4 weeks and 6 days to go. Time has flown past. This pregnancy has definitely been more challenging!!

Daisy0909 · 30/08/2023 11:37

Morning ladies,

Hope everyone is feeling ok, especially to those who may have had their babies by now!

I was told last week I have low iron, prescribed tablets and then had further checks and also v low on B12 so now having to have injections every couple of days for 2 weeks!

A bit TMI I'm sorry! But I wondered if anyone (maybe those who have had previous babies) could advise...

I'm normally a one time a day toilet for a no2 and some days even go without now i'm on the iron tablets! However, the last 2 days I've been going multiple times a day, quite loose and i'm also starting to feel very sick and a low appetite - Could this be my body preparing itself for labour?!

Daisy5011 · 30/08/2023 11:43

Hi. It could be that, or it could be the iron, as the injections can cause what you are describing. Sorry that's not much help!
When is your due date?

Daisy0909 · 30/08/2023 14:56

@Daisy5011 thank you :) - Iron I started taking last week but only had the first B12 injection today.

Due date is 24/09 x

BritishDesiGirl · 30/08/2023 15:14

@Daisy0909 hi, definitely sounds like the iron. I'm having the same, it definitely makes me poo more!!

Only 3 weeks and 4 days to go. Time has just flown by.

Daisy0909 · 30/08/2023 15:40

@BritishDesiGirl Thank you! Makes sense, at first it had the opposite affect and from previous experience on iron I just didn't think to put it down to that!

I know I can't quite believe how fast it's gone, ready for baby to arrive but sometimes equally not mentally ready!!

Superunknown1 · 31/08/2023 16:03

1 week six days until my planned elective -section! Currently 36+6, anyone else at this stage of pregnancy? DH has been incredible, done so much helping me nest as it feels like over the last week my energy has completely gone. Tip runs etc. clearing my stepdaughter’s playroom and i could honestly cry knowing that all the jobs I’d wanted to do but was too tired to are accounted for. Feeling very fortunate and genuinely feeling quite prepared now!

Anyone else completely lost their energy? Feel like I can’t walk to the kitchen without sweating, I’m on iron tablets as was told at my 32 week appointment that I’ll need infusions if I can’t kick the anaemia. Not much appetite and a lot of indigestion which is sad because I’m having the most amazing meals cooked for me and I feel like I have no tummy space to scoff it all!

ThirtyEight38 · 02/09/2023 12:45

Hi guys, hope you are all feeling ok.

The iron tablets messed up my bowels too, not very fun. I felt awful until my levels started to rise, but I prioritised eating red meat over the toast and crisps which I was mainly eating and I think that helped loads.

I had my twins on Monday, they are completely gorgeous, they have a bit of jaundice which they are under the care of the neonate team in the community for, but my milk came in yesterday so I think that it should all clear up in the next few days.

I was very lucky and managed to have a normal delivery, so I don’t feel too bad now, just a little sleep deprived.

Daisy0909 · 04/09/2023 12:03

Amazing news @ThirtyEight38 congratulations on the safe arrival of your boys! xxx

colourPink · 04/09/2023 17:55

@ThirtyEight38 how amazing! Can't believe people on the thread are actually having their babies - it's our turn! So amazing. Congrats mumma and enjoy the new born bubble.

I'm back at work after summer hols and really struggling. Will be 37 weeks on Weds. I've already moved my mat leave forward until next Fri (I'll be 38+2) but considering bringing it forward even more as I'm SO tired!

What about everyone else? When have you started/plan on starting mat leave?

Daisy0909 · 05/09/2023 07:17

@colourPink I feel for you! I'm 37+2 and working up until Friday this week but I'm very very fortunate in that I work from home in a desk based job, with a manager who already wants me to start winding down my tasks.

Anything that required going into a place of work or standing I definitely could not do at this stage. I struggle going up a flight of stairs or taking my dog for a very small and slow walk!

Are you a teacher? I'd be probably moving it forward to this week personally if I were you.. this heat won't be helping either 😭 will work be flexible if you did want to finish this week?

colourPink · 05/09/2023 19:53

@Daisy0909 yep I am a teacher. I don't have a timetable/any classes to teach as I'm not back for long enough so if I decide to move it up it should be easy enough.

Anyone else trying desperately to start labour? I'm ready for him to come now and wanting things to start 😂

Daisy155 · 14/09/2023 19:12

Hi all baby Ayla was born 3 weeks ago I have just been adjusting to motherhood it’s been a lot but it’s been so amazing! 💕💕
