Is anyone else a teacher? I went back to work today after Easter at 16+5 and I am EXHAUSTED. Struggled to keep my eyes open driving home level of tired!

I've felt so much better the last couple of weeks with energy levels and was fine throughout the day but it's drained me. I'm not even half way through the pregnancy yet so god knows how I'll cope if this continues 😂

Lhdale · 18/04/2023 13:47

@colourPink I am, secondary. Was really struggling with exhaustion up until the end of last term and have felt great over the break so assumed the exhaustion had passed. First day back today and I’m already feeling like a zombie again! Will be getting in the car shortly and genuinely worried about my concentration levels!

FlicUK · 18/04/2023 17:01

Same here, I had time off work before the easter break cos of dizzyness and nausea, feeling so much better now but after two days (training no teaching till tomorrow), I've been exhausted by 2pm and can't concentrate!

FarmBaby3 · 19/04/2023 13:30

I'm a secondary teacher too. It's the last week before our students go on exam leave. I can say that it feels like a holiday this week compared to a fortnight of having to entertain and feed my two children!

colourPink · 20/04/2023 18:06

Secondary teacher + Head of Year and I feel broken! Only one more day until the weekend.

For anyone wanting to shop for big baby bits I highly recommend booking a John Lewis consultation. It's a 1:1 appointment in store and they go through EVERYTHING with you. Prams were such a minefield for me - I didn't know where to start but the lady was amazing and helped so much!

You don't necessarily have to buy anything after. However, if you choose to (and we did) it was 10% off if you spent £1000 or more and 15% off if you spent £1,500 or more. So worth it! Our pram/travel system was £1500 but then we got 15% off that. Made it WAY cheaper than anywhere else to buy the same set!

Daisy155 · 24/04/2023 21:16

Hi all hope everyone is well! I am feeling the exhaustion as well I am not a teacher however I am almost 20 weeks and as the week keep rolling I have been more exhausted in my 3 rd trimester than second trimester.

My appetite as well keeps going up and down! Today I am forcing myself to eat and having not eaten much makes me so tired as well!

anyone getting their 20 weeks gender scan this week or next?

OP posts:
PBandJs · 24/04/2023 21:28

So exciting to hear all the genders! We aren’t going to find out but I’ve quietly been studying our scans with the nub and skull theories and convinced it’s a girl, which was our gut feeling before anyway. I don’t actually want to know 100% but want to wait and see if it’s right 😂

how are people getting on with buying stuff? I’ve been really tempted but when I go to actually do it I’m like no let’s just wait a bit longer!

MummyInBucks · 26/04/2023 09:19

I had my 16 week appointment on Friday & dad get to hear the heartbeat after they spent a couple of minutes looking, which was lovely 🥰

My 20 week scan isn’t for a couple more weeks but since we’re on holiday next week it doesn’t actually feel that long of a wait.

Daisy155 · 27/04/2023 04:30

@PBandJs I feel the same I bought some baby shoes they were too cute to not buy other than that. I haven’t bought anything else I want to wait until I know. With our first I didn’t wait and I bought lots of neutral colours and yellow, greens etc but I don’t want to do that again.

We already have a lot of new born clothes my son grew so fast in the first few months he didn’t even wear some of his newborn clothes which we had bought to many as he was our first.

@MummyInBucks thats so sweet you both heard the heart beat it’s so truly special! 🥰 yes the weeks are going by so fast it’s actually unbelievable and in no time it will be your 20 week scan.

Hi ladies happy Thursday! I had my 20w scan this morning and we are having a girl 💖 so excited we can start planning a bit more now.

hope everyone’s well X

Daisy155 · 27/04/2023 16:41

@Tinkerbell098 awww Congratulations on your baby girl that’s wonderful 💕💕💕

I bet you must be so excited to start can’t wait to find out next week xx

OP posts:
ThirtyEight38 · 29/04/2023 12:21

Congratulations @Tinkerbell098 that is lovely news.

I had my 20 week scan this week, I was feeling very nervous, but it all went well, I found out I am having 2 boys. It’s starting to sink in that I’m soon going to be holding 2 babies in my arms. We are struggling for names though, we have nothing.

Good luck everyone with your upcoming scans.

colourPink · 29/04/2023 14:32

@ThirtyEight38 wow! Twins! And two boys! Amazing news

FlicUK · 29/04/2023 15:31

Really lovely to read all your good news and excitement from the scans, congratulations to you.
I had mine yesterday and all ok, I enjoyed seeing some funny movements and hand in the mouth! I just have to go back in 2 weeks for a repeat as the baby's position wasn't allowing a detailed look at the heart

Daisy155 · 30/04/2023 07:48

@ThirtyEight38 congratulations on your twin boys that’s so amazing 💙💙

@FlicUK wishing you all the best in 2 weeks time hope they get all the details 🥰

OP posts:
PBandJs · 30/04/2023 16:28

@Daisy155 yeah I’m worried about overdoing it with sizing as well so think we may just buy a few newborn and a few 0-3 then do a big online order once they’re here and we know how big they are and their sex.

@FlicUK ah I really feel for you, we have a baby that likes to lie in strange positions that don’t allow the scanners to get a good view! Happened to us at 12 week scan so they had trouble doing the checks and we were sent in and out again about 3 times, and again at a private scan for my birthday - baby literally sat with its back to us for 10-15 mins and then tilted only very slightly at the end so we got a bit of a view! I have my 20 week scan next week and am preparing myself mentally that it’s likely to happen again so I’m somewhat expecting it. Hopefully the next one goes much better for you ❤️

Daisy155 · 02/05/2023 10:57

@PBandJs Good luck with the scan this week I hope you get to see baby! I have my scan tomorrow excited and nervous at the same time x

OP posts:
PBandJs · 02/05/2023 23:18

@Daisy155 thank you, it’s actually next week so a bit longer to wait to see them 🥲 I will live vicariously through everyone else for now though!

good luck tomorrow and let us know how you get on x

bonkersconkers101 · 07/05/2023 12:10

Had my 20 week scan and we're having another boy! My babies will be just 13 months apart and I'm psyching myself up for all the testosterone to come Smile

Daisy155 · 07/05/2023 22:17

Aww 🥰 @bonkersconkers101 happy to hear your 20 week scan went well and how lovely you are having a little boy 💙 your eldest will have a little brother to play with that’s so lovely!!

@PBandJs Good luck with your scan this week that’s so exciting I hope everything goes well on the day and let us know how it goes!

I went for my scan and I was convinced we were having a boy again as we have had only boys! But we found out we are having a little girl I was in shock still in shock and super excited and we have named her already and we spent the whole weekend decorating her room I was so eager and our son is so excited to have a little sister! He can’t believe it! 💕

Daisy0909 · 09/05/2023 13:58

Congratulations to everyone finding out genders, how exciting! And to anyone that's not finding out - Good on you for having the strength to resist temptation!!

We have ours on Thursday & I can't wait - Had to tell a little porky to everyone and say we're not finding out as were planning on revealing it at our wedding reception next month. I feel awful lying especially to my mum but it will be worth it! Plus, it makes it extra special knowing only we know for a month 💖x

Daisy0909 · 12/05/2023 09:51

... well what a pa-lava that scan was.

Baby was burrowed so low down in my pelvis that I had to go in different positions to move them, wiggle and shake my hips, a walk round the hospital, empty my bladder, then refill my bladder..

I was in and out 3 times before she could actually complete the checks and 2 hours later she managed to get them in between scanning 2 other ladies.

What a stubborn little monkey I have! Anyone else experienced this? The sonographer said it was one of the most difficult babies she's ever scanned, I felt awful! 😂

MummyInBucks · 12/05/2023 14:16

Had the 2nd scan this week and we're having a boy! We're quite excited as there's already a lot of women across the family on my husband's side.

All of my joints are getting clicky & soft now, it's not comfy! I'm very glad this is "half way", unfortunately not loving this pregnancy, I'm looking forward to when the baby gets here!

Daisy155 · 14/05/2023 17:59

@Daisy0909 what an experience😅 glad you were able to see everything after all that as sometimes they may say for you to come back in 2 weeks time if it’s difficult to see baby!

@MummyInBucks congratulations on your little boy 💙 yes I am feeling the pain on my hips when I am sleeping it’s so uncomfortable that and going toilet all night smh I am exhausted 😴
