Hi, hope it is OK if I join?
I had my 12 week scan yesterday and due 12th September. This will be my 2nd as have a 21 month old daughter. Had a really easy pregnancy first time round but finding this one more difficult with tiredness and nausea but keeping fingers crossed it will ease soon.

Maraudingmarauders · 04/03/2023 09:20

Welcome @Hibbs126 and @Superunknown1 ! Congratulations!
Feel free to celebrate and commiserate with us and hopefully usher in the more enjoyable second trimester (fingers crossed!!)

Tinkerbell098 · 04/03/2023 09:30

@Maraudingmarauders thats such a great scan photo! You must be thrilled! You’ve got the same due date as me 😃

Girls, would you be stopping taking folic acid after 12 weeks? Initially I was going to use up the pills I’ve got, but looking at them, it’ll probably last me ages, so unsure to just stop now. I’m about 13 weeks now.

northernmam · 04/03/2023 10:37

Just seen this thread 😊 looking forward to more of the scan photos and updates in the next few weeks xx

Thanks yes really pleased 😀
I've been umming and ahhing about my supplements because I've got half a tub left, but friend has just said they're ttc so I'm giving them my leftovers. I might start taking a generic one like pregnacare (ive been on a folic and vitamin d specific one), but will see how it feels as I know they make some people feel grotty

Daisy155 · 04/03/2023 13:17

Hi! Please may I join! Baby due 17th September, and already have a six month old Shock exhausted ... need a tribe x

FarmBaby3 · 05/03/2023 15:04

@bonkersconkers101 I feel you on the knackeredness. Has your 6 month old started crawling or rolling yet?

I'm lucky that my two have been successfully TV trained so I can get some peace.

bonkersconkers101 · 05/03/2023 15:20

@FarmBaby3 He's just a lazy potato at the moment, no crawling, sitting or rolling, but suspect it'll happen all at once when I'm at my most tired ... Nice work on the TV training, I'll have to step up my game!

Maraudingmarauders · 05/03/2023 16:54

@Daisy155 I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you tried any remedies? I did find my travel bands took the edge off, as does lemon barley squash. I'm definitely better than I was a couple of weeks ago, but I'd say its still very much present in the background. Worse when hungry, tired or travelling.

@bonkersconkers101 I can't even begin to imagine coping with first trimester and a young baby, hats off to you - and the rest of you who have other children!! I'm finding it tough to be a functioning human when it's only me, husband and dog. I'm definitely struggling at work, but don't see the point in taking any time off as I know I'll feel the same tomorrow no matter how much rest I get! I'll just have twice the amount of work to go back to...

elleh2023 · 05/03/2023 20:02

Hey can I join please due 7th September🙂

Second trimester and beyond! - Sept 23
Superunknown1 · 06/03/2023 08:54

So lovely seeing all the scans in here and so happy, thank you for welcoming me. I’d been all over the pregnancy forums flapping about not having had any booking appt yet (I’m 11 weeks) and it seems chasing every avenue worked and had a call for a same-day appointment on Saturday! Just waiting on scan date now, did have a private one last week (the wait was killing me) but the NHS one I am really looking forward to as my fiancé and I will finally be able to tell people (swore off telling anyone besides parents and one friend each until first proper scan).

Has anyone had their scan appointment come through yet? How many people have you guys told? 💕

Daisy0909 · 06/03/2023 09:33

Just catching up from the weekend, welcome to anyone new that's joined recently!!

We've had a non-stop weekend seeing family, told both our parents and my OH's sisters. I'm telling my siblings next weekend in person and we're going to leave it at that for a little bit longer as I'm only 11 weeks.

It's lovely to share the news finally but I also came away yesterday just feeling really overwhelmed?! Almost sad that our little bubble of just us knowing has gone now. I'm blaming my hormones for that one and I'm hoping it's normal😂

Maraudingmarauders · 06/03/2023 09:44

Welcome @elleh2023! Lovely scan picture 😍
We've told most people now (but haven't 'announced' on SM, don't plan to either) but most good friends and family know. I'm 13+1 today. I've told my boss at work but not my team. I'll do that...at some point soon, but im putting it off tbh as I know one in particular will start fretting immediately and I don't have the brain space for it yet.

I had to laugh at myself today - I 'feel' like we are having a girl (who knows, probably totally wrong lol) but obviously they say girls crave sweeter foods. So I was like "its weird because I'm not craving anything sugary!"
Also me: ate crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast with a glass of iced tea, packed werther's original sweets for anti sickness, as well as some fruit bars and figgy roll biscuits...and nearly cried because we'd run out of bananas
🙄
Really need to cut down on that sugar intake!! Also still really want a banana 😅

Tinkerbell098 · 06/03/2023 11:16

@Daisy0909 I know exactly what you mean. We ended up telling everyone last week and it just felt like our little secret was out and suddenly everyone was messaging and calling us. Some even offering help, tips and advice. It just felt so overwhelming.

@Maraudingmarauders haha I get through so many bananas a day now! My diet definitely needs improving.

Daisy0909 · 06/03/2023 11:59

@Tinkerbell098 Yes! It's all the questions as well. I don't mind advice to an extent but even my partner when we set off home from his parents - the first thing he said is I really would like people to just let us figure it out for ourselves. I know everyone means well but it does just feel so overwhelming!!

Maraudingmarauders · 06/03/2023 12:12

@Daisy0909 @Tinkerbell098 for us it's all the stuff too. I know they all mean we'll and its really helpful to not have fo buy everything, but it feels like we are just fending off piles of junk from people's attics. We haven't even chosen which room will be the nursery yet and already we've already been offered two cots (which probably don't meet modern regulations), multiple car seats (which aren't isofix) and my MIL even gave me a book on muddy messy play which won't be used for about 4 years!

Hibbs126 · 06/03/2023 12:48

Know what you mean about keeping it to yourself. We've told our parents, my husbands brother and my boss but I haven't told any friends yet. One of my work friends is struggling to have a second with IVF and I want to let her know before she finds out through someone else but not sure the best way to do it.

NessiSD · 06/03/2023 13:37

Hey all, hope you're well ❤️

Just wanted to say that I appreciate the support received from this group, unfortunately I'm out. I was given a missed miscarriage outcome today. I've already started the medication process this morning, next set on Wednesday. Not looking forward to it, but I have support from work and I have a week off next week to just chill out.

I really wish all the best for you 🌸 I'll be thinking about all the September babies. Hope the rest of your journey goes well 💕✨

Daisy0909 · 06/03/2023 13:42

@NessiSD I'm so sorry, please take care! I'm glad you've got time next week to look after yourself. xx

FlicUK · 06/03/2023 14:03

Hello! I would also like to join this thread/group - I'm 11 weeks, had a scan today and due date 24th September. I am very nervous as I've had 2 missed miscarriages before this pregnancy, but feeling hopeful. I hope everyone is doing OK at the moment x

Daisy0909 · 06/03/2023 14:06

@FlicUK welcome! I am due a day after you. Glad to hear your scan went well x

northernmam · 06/03/2023 14:22

@NessiSD I'm so so sorry for your loss! Take care xx

Daisy155 · 06/03/2023 14:56

@NessiSD I am so so sorry to hear this I hope you go through this and get through it! So sorry
