@BritishDesiGirl today I almost fainted (low blood sugar) on my way to work this is the first time I felt like I want to rush the weeks and I am having baby at 37 weeks it’s only been 15 weeks left but I want these weeks to rush!

I hope you feel better ❤️‍🩹 soon and I hope time flies for you it’s not long to go xx

How is everyone? It's been so quiet on here! I'm now 23+3 and starting to feel all the hormones! Haven't felt emotional really until the last few days but now I feel highly sensitive - always fun 😂

Hope everyone's pregnancy journeys are going well ♥️

ThirtyEight38 · 04/06/2023 12:43

My hormones are mainly causing irritability and anxiety which is a fun combination for my nearest and dearest. Even when you know it’s hormones it doesn’t stop the feelings, so it’s quite tricky isn’t it? 🙈

I am 25weeks ish now and my SPD has really ramped up, plus I had some sciatica for the first time this weekend, luckily that’s eased now so the babies must’ve moved. Thankfully. I also got a prescription for some omeprazole and really recommend it if you’re having issues with heartburn.

Hows everyone’s preparation going?

Daisy155 · 05/06/2023 19:26

@colourPink hope you are well too 💕i wasn’t moody until 2 weeks ago I have just been moody and happy and sad and scared 😅

I am 26 weeks this Friday and I had my midwife appointment last week Friday and a consultant appointment today. It was really nice to hear the plans and that from 28 weeks they will do regular scans for baby and an MRI scan at 34 weeks baby is now scheduled for August instead of mid September.

I’m very happy with all the plans I have gained 2 kgs now so I am very happy with that!

@ThirtyEight38 I have now done the nursery, it’s finished just need to bulk buy nappies and wipes and it’s all done.

I need to also start my bag I have bought a few things for my hospital bag.

pram has been set up and everything is ready just hoping and praying the weeks go by very quickly so we can have her in our arms!

how is everyone else doing as well? I hope you’re all ok

ThirtyEight38 · 05/06/2023 19:36

Mine are going to be august babies as well @Daisy155. You are super organised! My midwife told me to get my bag ready as the risk for going early is quite high for twins, but it stresses me out way too much so I I’ve done nothing. I’ve chosen my pram now though, just need to buy it, so that’s something.

Daisy155 · 05/06/2023 19:48

@ThirtyEight38 thank you I really didn’t want to repeat what I did last year! We needed up buying lots of clothes and the only shop close to us was Sainsbury’s because I didn’t prepare my bags and I was 37 weeks had to stay in hospital for 2 weeks!

so I started preparations from 18 weeks this time only the bag I haven’t started.

Lovely 🥰 to hear you are also having your babies in August! And time is going so fast so it will be August in no time definitely we need to be ready . I am looking at it now like I have 2 months left in the last few weeks before she comes I don’t want to be doing anything at all

colourPink · 05/06/2023 19:53

I'm also pretty on it with the organising! Nursery is 90% done I just have a few things to order and hang up on the walls.

Baby shower is organised for 12th Aug which I'm so excited about! Im a teacher so I'll still have plenty of summer hols left to wash and put away clothes that have been gifted 😊

All big purchases done but I'm only 24 weeks and not due until end of Sept so have plenty of time.

I'm currently planning on working to 39+2 which might be ambitious but we'll see 😂 I'd rather work right up than waste my mat leave (and more importantly mat pay) without a bubba!

Daisy155 · 06/06/2023 11:28

I thought I responded here must have fallen asleep whilst typing!! 😅 well done @colourPink its so good to prepare quickly, how exciting that you are having a baby shower especially as it’s getting warmer outside I hope you have a wonderful baby shower🥰

Thats amazing and I hope you achieve that if you can why not!! I will stop work this week because I have loads of appointments to attend to from the 14th of June until August so I have no other choice.

I had also left my stressful job and got a new one and it’s temporary it’s been really amazing but means I won’t have maternity leave like I did last year! So a bit worried but I think we will manage trying to get the maintenance maternity done by the end of this week as I have now my Matb1 form but they are making it hard to apply but it’s ok whatever happens we can maintain a couple of months at home without maternity leave as long as I get to spend as much time with the baby that’s what matters right now.

Hi girls lovely to hear from you all and how organised you all are! All big purchases are done here. Got handed down a few things especially clothes, so just need to arrange the wardrobes in the nursery.

I’m 26 weeks and had my glucose tolerance test last week. Unfortunately I didn’t pass it so got a hospital appointment on Thursday to look at next steps. I’m so nervous. Anyone else going through the same? I knew I’d be high risk as both my parents are diabetic and my mum had GD when she was pregnant with me. I’m not someone who binges on sugar so it’s really unfortunate. Hopefully they’ll say I can control with diet rather than having to take medication.

Daisy155 · 07/06/2023 02:44

@Tinkerbell098 sorry to hear about the GD I have been monitoring my sugar since first trimester I had GD in my last pregnancy.

I am monitoring it with diet nothing else , my numbers are really good so far only had one slip up at the beginning I was craving Doritos 😅 they said it was ok as it was a one of issue. Please don’t worry at all it can be manageable.

In a way I have looked at it in a positive light as it’s helped me mantain a healthy weight during this pregnancy and I have fed baby all the good stuff.

They will go through the dirt for GD and you may meet with a nutritionist as well! It can also mean more scans for you as they will need to monitor baby’s growth, so you get to see the baby a few more times before they come. And they will now keep a closer look at you through out the pregnancy.

Tinkerbell098 · 07/06/2023 15:28

@Daisy155 thanks so much, that sounds positive. Glad your levels are well controlled for this pregnancy. Well done! I will let you know how the appointment goes tomorrow.

Superunknown1 · 09/06/2023 18:23

Had my 25 week midwife appointment today, heard my baby boy’s heartbeat and got a referral to a consultant as I’m opting for an ELCS. Only part that was a bit daunting is midwife telling me ‘baby is engaged’ (I took that as meaning that he’s coming!!) and he’s measuring 6 weeks ahead based on the size of my bump. Has anyone else had this so far? My partner was a big baby so it may just be that but he was described as ‘off the charts’ size wise 😳 Back in a couple weeks for a re-measure and check if glucose in my urine has come down as she was worried about gd. Eventful and a bit scary and need a nap 😅😅

colourPink · 11/06/2023 07:15

@Superunknown1 wow! Bump measurements are a guide and often wrong but he sounds like a big bubba.

I had my 24 week midwife appointment a couple of days ago and they won't even start hump measurements yet. Think they're going to on my 28 week one. So crazy hour different counties work!

DEtU · 13/06/2023 23:27

Hello all,

I hope you don't mind me joining in a little late to the threads. I found it early on while I was still getting used to the idea of being pregnant after years of secondary infertility but never got around to posting.

I'm almost 26 weeks, due mid September. I have an 8yr old who is very much looking forward to being a big sister, having always wanted a sibling but since we hadn't been able to for years I'd told her she wouldn't have one. Queue a surprise for all of us a few months ago!

I was just wondering how everyone is getting on with feeling movements?

Are your little ones very active or not so much?

With my daughter she was not very active at all through the pregnancy. Whereas this one doesn't seem to stop moving some days.

I used to compare that this one kicks me more in a day than my daughter did the whole pregnancy, but today has been absolutely non stop. I feel like he's kicked me twice as much as she did the whole pregnancy - or more!!

Lovely to read all of your posts, some of you are so organised! I've done almost nothing to prepare yet. We still have almost everything from the baby days with our daughter but waiting until we've decorated the baby's room to get it all out and sort through. But wow the time seems to be flying by.

All this lovely weather we've been having where we are isn't encouraging us to start the wallpaper stripping though!

Daisy0909 · 14/06/2023 16:21

Hi everyone, playing a bit of catch up here. Great to see how everyone's getting on! Some of you are super organised, I've bought nothing apart from a couple of packs of sleepsuits! 😂

Had my 25 week appt today and I've got my GD test booked in (due to having PCOS) - Can anyone put my mind to rest, I'm really dreading it. I'm bad with blood tests as it is and the thought of having two in one day is freaking me out. Did you find the sugary drink ok?!

Welcome @DEtU How lovely your little girl gets to be a big sister, have you found out the gender or keeping it a surprise?

In terms of movement, I've definitely found a pattern with baby but I have been feeling kicks and movement for the last 7 weeks.. I know not everybody feels them that early though - I must just have a super active baby!

Daisy155 · 23/06/2023 15:05

@Daisy0909 sorry not to have responded quickly how did it go it’s not so bad at all!

how are you??

Anyone else in their 3rd trimester can’t believe how time is flying by

OP posts:
ThirtyEight38 · 24/06/2023 12:29

I am so tired at the moment, and I am feeling awful generally. I had to have the gtt yesterday, and my midwife is sure I have diabetes, so I’m a bit concerned for the babies.

I have 10 weeks to go and really just want them here safe and sound, so that I can start feeling better!

@Daisy0909 did you have your results from your test? How’d it go?

@Daisy155 glad the 3rd trimester is going well for you, how are you coping in the heat?

Daisy155 · 24/06/2023 14:41

@ThirtyEight38 I am completely exhausted I can’t wait for the baby to be here I have 9 weeks left as well and I need time to go quickly I am supposed to have a c section at 37 weeks but I’m going to ask for 36 weeks my bereavement midwife said I should if that’s how I feel!

But I feel so guilty I am not walking as much because I’m tired and I have Gestational diabetes.

When will you find out your results for the gestational diabetes? And don’t worry too much have you been eating well ?

OP posts:
colourPink · 24/06/2023 15:34

@Daisy155 @ThirtyEight38 I also feel so exhausted! I think I'm a little behind you guys as I'm only 26 weeks but the tiredness is really coming back.

We went to look at a nursery today and I am in shock over the prices! We can't afford for me not to go back to work but wow - it's going to cost so much. Not sure how we'll do it 🙄

ThirtyEight38 · 24/06/2023 19:31

@Daisy155 I’ll find out by Tuesday. Partly stressed that I do have it, and stressed if I don’t, as the fluid levels around one of the babies is high and they also don’t like the difference in size between them now either. So not sure what the plan will be if it comes back as I don’t have it.

My diet has been awful. Tbh I haven’t been having the best time during this pregnancy, so unless there is someone around to feed me I tend to eat toast! Or crisps. Or both. But I am going to make a conscious effort to do better, me and the babies deserve it.

I don’t blame you for wanting the section earlier, you are doing great, this must be a very emotional time for you.

You’re not too far behind @colourPink i am 28 weeks, because I’m having twins I’ll be delivered before I hit 38 weeks, so hopefully around the 37 week mark.

Nursery fees are so expensive. Have you looked at the new funding coming in for childcare, last time I checked they were bringing in 15 hours for 1 year olds (maybe younger) from April 2024.

Daisy0909 · 26/06/2023 09:53

@Daisy155 @ThirtyEight38 Haven't had my test yet, they've booked me in for 4th of July, I'll keep you updated!

Agreed on the third trimester exhaustion, I noticed it at the beginning of last week. Initially just put it down to the crazy heat we've been having here but noticed I'm sleeping fairly well and still exhausted sat working at my desk.

My second trimester has felt like a dream compared to the first so it was a real shock to all of a sudden feel so tired all the time.

@ThirtyEight38 easier said than done but don't feel guilty on what you're eating, you're body is working twice as hard to grow two babies! Maybe look at getting some of the ready meals in but the good and balanced range so you're getting in some veg maybe if you're conscious of it?

I'm really into my cooking but even I'm now having to think about easier options, it's too much being on my feet for so long trying to cook from scratch. Sat and cooked a Sunday dinner yesterday and my feet were in agony by the end of it, definitely not worth it 😂

Daisy0909 · 26/06/2023 09:57

*Also not sure why on earth I said sat and cooked - I most definitely was not sitting 😂

Daisy155 · 03/07/2023 12:48

@ThirtyEight38 i hope you are doing well and you finally received the results last week Tuesday!

I think @Daisy0909 is right especially in regards to the ready made meals I think that’s an amazing idea!

@Daisy0909 i have been bulk cooking or asking my husband to bulk cook meals and it’s been helping! I just made a massive pot of potatoes, then made some quinoa and Lentils.

Then made some chicken, mince for my son and roasted some chicken.

Roasted some veggies as well!

Now just alternating between those for the rest of the week for dinner and lunch!

I can’t be bothered to cook everyday anymore!

OP posts:
Daisy155 · 08/07/2023 15:24

30 weeks now I just can’t believe the time x hope everyone is doing well

OP posts:
FlicUK · 09/07/2023 18:53

Great to catch up on everyone's news and progress, glad you're all managing ok. I'm at 29 weeks and getting exhausted now but I'm very fortunate to have long summer holidays off work now which gives me time to start preparing the house and buying things etc x
I think I will try the bulk/pre prepared meals and simple options now as well as I was crying trying to cook a complex stir fry the other night! 😆
