Hi all, hope you are all well🥰

I have just found out that I am pregnant again after a loss in December at 5+2 (very early!). I’m only 4 weeks going by last period so it really is so early again. I am so happy but also know i’m going to struggle with the waiting. I know I just have to play the waiting game and hope for the best. Anyone been in similar position with positive outcome? Really hope this is our time🤞🌈

@GH9687 tga k you and congratulations to you too. I know you must be feeling anxious. I still do now but it gets easier with every week that passes. I had my first private scan at 9 weeks as I had read that the chances of miscarriage drops by a lot if a heartbeat is seen 8 weeks or later. It was so hard to wait that long but seeing it beating away was the best feeling ever. If I was rich I would have a scan every fortnight I think ha ha. I love seeing them and you see a lot more detail in a private scan and on a much bigger screen

Hi ladies, hope you are all doing well!

I am pregnant again following a missed miscarriage in September 2021. I had a bleed right at the start (around a week ago), and fought to get seen at the EPU yesterday where I was measuring between 5-6 weeks which matched up with ovulation dates, which put my mind at ease!

I will say, on the point of progesterone, I had to fight hard to be prescribed... The nurses refused to believe me that the guidelines are now after 1 miscarriage, not 3!!! I did not leave until I was prescribed it... said I would wait as long as I needed to (crazy I know but the things we do hey!). Managed to get 6 weeks worth of cyclogest :D

I have woken up today to some brown spotting. I have heard this may be due to the cyclones pessaries, but as I am sure you can all imagine this has made me feel worse. Does anyone have any experience with this? 😥

Sb86 · 22/03/2023 12:51

@STKF96 hey firstly congratulations 🎊 secondly sorry you started spotting, I don't have any experience in progesterone but I've read it can cause brown spotting but if you are worried maybe call EPU. I'm going for my scan tomorrow and praying with all I've got that they tell me there's a baby with a heartbeat, then they've said they will start me on progesterone.

calipoppy · 22/03/2023 13:03

Welcome @STKF96 and so sorry you had such a fight to get progesterone - knowledge of the guidelines seems to be so varied across different trusts. I haven’t experienced spotting on it but I have had some irritation so I can imagine it could easily cause spotting too.

@Sb86 im so glad your bleeding stopped, I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow!

how’s everyone else doing? I’m not having a good week mentally, feel very pessimistic as my symptoms are still so mild. Normally I’d be wretching all day by now but I just have faint waves of nausea.

STKF96 · 22/03/2023 15:41

@Sb86 Thank you! I was only at my EPU yesterday, so I just know they wouldn't do anything.. I have another appointment for a second scan in 2 weeks, so the scary count down is on. Thankfully spotting has seemingly stopped (fingers crossed) so I am just trying my best to relax until then!

@calipoppy you are so right, I am hopefully just putting it down to that. I am so sorry you are experiencing the anxiety, if it helps I am also very feeling the same as you 😞There's times where I don't feel pregnant at all, and I am almost wishing I would just be dreadfully sick! If it helps, I think of my last pregnancy, where I was so so sick but had already miscarried unknowingly, so symptoms really aren't the best measure (although they sure do help with reassurance!).

allgoodthings84 · 22/03/2023 17:15

@STKF96 I had some brown blood in discharge for 5 days when I was 13 weeks. EPU prescribed me progesterone as I had had 2 previous miscarriages (they said the guidelines are progesterone until 16 weeks if any bleeding if you’ve had at least 1 miscarriage so they knew the guidelines at my hospital luckily). The consultant recommended I use the back passage as it’s best to keep things away from the vagina especially if had any spotting or bleeding as it can irritate the vagina and cervix and make things sore and could increase chance of infection. I was glad to only need it for those 2.5 weeks (was 13.5 weeks when I was seen by EPU) as it wasn’t the best but worth it

GH9687 · 22/03/2023 19:43

I've also had abit of brown spotting mixed in with my discharge this evening, I'm worried the EPU are going to fob me off. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any heavier, I know brown is better than red but still feeling very anxious.

allgoodthings84 · 22/03/2023 21:59

@GH9687 when I had my brown spotting in discharge my midwife wasn’t at all concerned so I rang my GP as our EPU only see you before 20 weeks if referred by midwife or GP. The GP referred me without me even asking because of my previous miscarriage history. I would try calling your GP because if they refer you I think EPU have to see you.

allgoodthings84 · 22/03/2023 22:00

@GH9687 turns out midwife was right to not be concerned but that’s not the point. After 2 miscarriages I needed to be checked over just in case.

GH9687 · 22/03/2023 22:08

@allgoodthings84 thanks for responding, I will ring tomorrow.

allgoodthings84 · 22/03/2023 22:29

@GH9687 I know how you must be feeling and it’s horrible 😞. You definitely need to be seen for your own peace of mind too. Brown in discharge is very unlikely to be anything to worry about but it’s always better to be checked and it’s still blood so you should definitely be prescribed progesterone. Tell them about the NICE guidelines if they don’t offer you it.

Sb86 · 23/03/2023 13:16

Hey ladies, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Baby was hiding but she managed to find it and there was a good strong heartbeat. She's dated me further along so we are actually 6+5 instead of 6 which I'm happy about, although that could change come the 12 week scan. They said I have a subchorionic hematoma but she didn't seem concerned but they weren't last time. Also been prescribed 10 weeks of progesterone 😊

How did your scan go @Charliexo hope it's good news xx

TTCX2 · 23/03/2023 13:36

Oh @Sb86 🥹🥹🥹 this is the best news! I’m so so pleased for you and what a relief. Lovely to know you’re a bit further on that you thought as well. Aww im so chuffed! We’ve been dated similarly im 7+1 according to my scan on Monday. Looking forward to see if that changes any at my next scan. Yay for the babies 👏❤️

TMI2000 · 23/03/2023 13:40

Wow @Sb86 such amazing news, I'm so pleased for you. You must be feeling so much relief! ❤

Sb86 · 23/03/2023 13:49

I'm so happy, feel so much lighter ❤️🌈

Charliexo · 23/03/2023 14:28

@Sb86 so so happy your scan went well ❤️🌈

I've got some good news and sad news.. so the smaller baby heart has stopped 😭💔 but the other baby is doing really well with a nice strong heartbeat. I'm just absolutely terrified of losing the other one but I have everything crossed the other baby stays well. I have no more scans now until I'm 12 weeks unless I have any heavy bleeding xxx

38andtrying · 23/03/2023 14:30

@Sb86 i have been waiting all day to hear your news, just on my lunchbreak! this is amazing news, i am so delighted for you x
