@Summer022 I used window to the womb for a 3d scan with my son during the pandemic. It was the first and only scan my husband was allowed at. It was brilliant. They were lovely but I don't have experience of viability scan there.

Any others only had babies during the pandemic? Kind of don't know what to expect this time because we didn't have the "normal" experience.

I plan to tell my husband after I test tomorrow morning 🤞 hoping for a stronger positive

amybooth · 16/02/2023 17:47

Coming over from the previous group!

I also tested 3+ on clearblue digi today with third morning urine, I bought a two pack so that I had one for tomorrow morning just in case.

I'm 5+3 today based on ovulation, 6+3 based on lmp but going off ovulation as it was confirmed with opks and bbt☺️

AlongcameLainey · 16/02/2023 17:50

@MeganC104 yes my little girl was born July 2020 so really curious to see the difference between the 2 experiences.

I was kept in for 5 days with her with no visitors. It was torture!

When was you first born?

Yes, I was 7 weeks pregnant with my little one when we went into lockdown so not sure what to expect this time! Even when I booked my first midwife appointment this time I was surprised I had to go in for it 😂

We used Window to the Womb last time twice (partners couldn’t attend NHS scans) at 10 weeks and 20 weeks - couldn’t fault them, they were great!

MeganC104 · 16/02/2023 18:08

@AlongcameLainey January 21. I found out I was pregnant in the first lock down. I had all midwife appointments telephone. Scans by myself.

AlongcameLainey · 16/02/2023 18:12

@MeganC104 bless you. It was so hard wasn’t it.

I would record the Doppler at the midwife appointments to show my husband when I got home. They were stopping partners being at the birth but luckily changed that in the weeks leading up to my labour x

amybooth · 16/02/2023 18:13

Has anyone had an early scan with the company miracle within?

SillyOldBear3 · 16/02/2023 18:38

Has anyone decided not to go for a private early scan and waiting for the 12 weeks? I feel like I'm definitely in the minority! First baby after a couple of chemicals, now 5+1. I just feel I'd rather wait til the bean is a little bigger before the scan 🙂 is this OK or do you think I should scan earlier to make sure everything's in the right place?!

afinethingindeed · 16/02/2023 18:43

Wow the old thread filled up quickly!

@SillyOldBear3 I think it's fine not to go for a private scan! My understanding is that if the pregnancy was not in the right place, you'd probably be in a lot of pain. So if you have no reason to question it, then you're probably ok to wait 😊

I am thinking about going for a private scan at around 10 weeks so we can tell our mums on Mother's Day otherwise I'm not sure if I'd bother.

JoanneV · 16/02/2023 18:49

Last couple of days I've been an emotional anxious wreck and not even five weeks yet. That's eased today but my hips and legs are aching. So much so I bought an inflatable bath online since we don't have one here. Trying to figure out what the safe temperature is for the water but google is just telling me what my body temp should not go over. Anyone have any experience with this?

@SillyOldBear3 I'm not going for an early scan, would rather save the money for something else but I can see why people do it especially if they've had MMC.

bananaandblueberry · 16/02/2023 19:00

@SillyOldBear3

I'm not going for a private scan and am waiting for my 12'week just like with my daughter. Mainly because we can't afford it! But also because I think it would make me more anxious if they can't see anything on an early scan.

Ymd89 · 16/02/2023 19:17

The private scan is quite a different experience I found. With our first we had a private scan at 13 weeks (which ended up being before the NHS one!). We had it because it was during lockdown and my husband couldn’t attend the NHS appointments. We came away with videos and spent ages looking at our boy on the monitor which was amazing. This time we are booked in for 7+4 roughly so I don’t anticipate it will be anything like a 12 or 13 week one but I am excited to see them.

SillyOldBear3 · 16/02/2023 19:20

@afinethingindeed No pain at the moment so if all continues like this I'm hoping it's ok! Lovely idea to share for Mother's Day!

@JoanneV Yes I feel the same, I think I'd rather spend the money on something for the baby.

@bananaandblueberry Totally agree, I'd get so nervous if they said my dates were wrong etc, as I'm pretty sure of them!

@Ymd89 Definitely understand why you did that in lockdown, and must also be nice to have the photos to keep!

cruciverbalista · 16/02/2023 19:30

@SillyOldBear3 I'm not planning to get a private scan either, I think it would add unnecessary anxiety. This is my first pregnancy ever so I'm just following the basic recommendations as best I can.
@JoanneV I think I heard 37 degrees but I'm not sure where? Haha, maybe not the most reliable source...

AlongcameLainey · 16/02/2023 19:43

We did a private scan at 17 weeks on my last pregnancy. It was my birthday present from the hubby.

I am super impatient so it meant we could find out the gender early 😅

It was such a lovely experience as my mum and MIL could come with us x

MeganC104 · 16/02/2023 20:26

@SillyOldBear3 I doubt we will. It's £80 and lasts only 5 minutes at my local private one. At 6-8weeks all you will see is a bean. You'll see heartbeat which is amazing but I think we'd rather go for a 3d scan. We got loads of photos and video of him moving and yawning. I had an early scan at 7 weeks with my son but at the hospital because of bleeding.

NSx · 16/02/2023 20:44

Ladies very off topic but I want to ask, is anyone else having quite soft stools (sorry TMI) but when I was pregnant before it was the opposite and I felt constipated, this time it’s not like that at all & I don’t know what to make of it ?

apologies again if this topic is gross for some people😬

Soda123x · 16/02/2023 20:53

Hi all 👋
Marking my spot. 4+3 here. Due date 23rd Oct but that may change once had scan xx

Hopefulx · 16/02/2023 21:02

@Needtobuildabridge @AlongcameLainey thank you ladies!

@Needtobuildabridge I saw the post on the other thread of the company you used for the blood test and decided to use them too. I was tempted to order another one a few days later to see if doubles but would rather save myself £40 😂

HistoryFanatic · 16/02/2023 21:08

Apparently 4+3 here. Due 23rd of October. A surprise natural bfp after two IVF children. One of whom would be 20 months if all goes well. Pretty unplanned! Feeling very cautious.

Happyhappy39soon40 · 16/02/2023 21:40

Hope it's not too late to join. Tested positive 14/2.

Due date calculate (online) 23/10

I have two boys 17yrs old soon 18, and a 6 year old.

Had no clue I was pregnant. It was the furthest thing from my mind. Took the test because AF was a day late.

I also just realised today that I have an appointment booked to see the doctor on Tuesday. Booked the appointment because I had a spotting (reddish/pinkish blood) on the 1st feb. It was unusual for that to happen hence why I booked the appointment.

Check the conception calculator today and it said i possible implanted on the 1st of feb. 🙆🏾🙆🏾🙆🏾

It didn't even occur to me that it was implantation. I was even thinking about anything down those lines at all.

Should i cancel the appointment?

Wishing everyone a happy healthy sickness free pregnancy. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

SoBoredOfWaiting · 16/02/2023 21:40

Hi! Jumping on the thread after lurking for a while. Got my bfp on 2nd feb, due 8th Oct! This is baby 2 and constantly nauseous unless stuffing my face Confused

Needtobuildabridge · 16/02/2023 21:41

@NSx Yes, sometimes! Apparently it's due to your body releasing chemicals to make your ligaments relax. It can make other things more relaxed too! 😂

@Hopefulx when I had my MC my HCG didn't get above 22. So getting a result of 1350 this time was enough to make me happy without doing another one.

I am. It started last Saturday. 🙄🙄

NSx · 16/02/2023 21:53

@Needtobuildabridge @Happyhappy39soon40
i guess I should be grateful as the constipation led to bad bloating too so this is the opposite 😂😂😂 but still it’s bizarre isn’t it 😀😀😀
