@ILookAtTheFloor Congratulations! It's my due date today but no signs of anything happening just yet. Growth scan tomorrow so will see what they say/what the plan is.

Preggobelly · 24/08/2023 08:40

@ILookAtTheFloor congratulations on your baby boy 💙

Moni81 · 24/08/2023 09:34

@ILookAtTheFloor congratulations, wish I had such easy relaxing birth at home.
Last night I had strong, long cramps, struggled to get out of bed, I thought that's it and got scared that my waters may break suddenly making me paralysed like last time. I keep getting funny popping noise when going for wee, did anyone experience that ?

DandelionPockets · 24/08/2023 11:38

Hi everyone, big congratulations to those of you who have met your babies now! ❤️

I'm going in for an induction tomorrow, so double checking my bag today and generally counting down the minutes until I go in.

All a bit last minute because induction is needed due to high bile acid levels. Mentioned to my midwife I was itchy and within 24hours had bloods done and induction booked. Wish me luck!

@DandelionPockets Good luck for your induction tomorrow. In a similar boat as had a scan late afternoon and been booked in for induction on Saturday. Not what I had planned so trying to get my head around it x

cinnamonbiscuit · 25/08/2023 04:11

@Owlgirl14 @DandelionPockets best of luck for your inductions! I had a really lovely induction experience this time around, really hoping you can both get the birth you want even though this is unexpected. My induction also took 2-3 days longer than I expected and we ran out of snacks fairly quickly, take loads 😅 hoping for a much quicker induction for you both!!

DandelionPockets · 25/08/2023 08:52

@Owlgirl14 good luck for yours as well. I know what you mean, suddenly lots of additional things to think about with induction. Also a bit apprehensive about having to stay on a ward overnight without my partner, so downloaded a few comfort TV shows on to my tablet if I can't sleep!

@cinnamonbiscuit ok, increasing the amount of snacks I'm taking based on your advice 😂

@DandelionPockets @Owlgirl14 good luck today!! Hope everything goes smoothly for you both, how exciting 🥰

@ILookAtTheFloor congratulations to you! Hope your enjoying your newborn bubble ❤️

@cinnamonbiscuit noted thanks, got loads of cereal bars packed, crisps, isotonic sports drink. Is there anything else we recommend? I just thought these would be easy to pack and eat!

I've been feeling a little crampy today and lost my mucus plug!

cinnamonbiscuit · 25/08/2023 15:55

@isitaline97 that's good about your plug, I lost mine after a vaginal exam during the induction and it definitely seemed to be a sign my cervix was ready to go.

Cereal bars, crisps and lucozade is exactly what I took 😂 plus lots of Jaffa cakes and tuc biscuits. The hospital food was actually pretty good as well.

Owlgirl14 · 25/08/2023 23:10

@DandelionPockets Thank you, hope your induction is going well today.

@cinnamonbiscuit Thank you, I already have two snack bags packed ready as I always need so much food 😂

@isitaline97 Thank you, can't wait to meet our little girl 💖

isitaline97 · 26/08/2023 12:54

@cinnamonbiscuit I hope so! No signs yet though 😅

Hope your inductions are going well ladies!

isitaline97 · 29/08/2023 09:43

I hope you ladies are all doing well. My waters broke last night! I wasn't sure it was that as it was just a trickle at first but it got more noticeable and hospitable confirmed it. Hoping I start labour naturally by 10pm tonight (24hrs) otherwise they advice to be induced. Either way things are moving though which is exciting!

cinnamonbiscuit · 29/08/2023 10:21

@isitaline97 ahh so exciting! I hope labour starts for you but if not, at least you'll be meeting baby very soon ❤️ best wishes!!

Moni81 · 29/08/2023 10:28

@isitaline97 lucky you, it shouldn't take long from now. My waters will probably break 5 min before birth 😬so not looking for that happening at home. I had sweep in hospital yesterday, I have never seen such empty hospital lol. Had strong regular contractions for about 2h but then they stopped, some came back last night with bloody discharge, slept through the night and looks like nothing major will happen today. Having another sweep booked for tomorrow at local midwife, stubborn this one lol. Wish I could avoid induction on Thursday, especially that it is booked for 3 pm and I would prefer to give birth in August 🙁

isitaline97 · 29/08/2023 10:41

Thank-you both! I'm still in shock I think, I feel totally normal now. My temp is a little low at 35.5 so just going to give it 20 min and redo otherwise it says to ring the hospital on my handout they gave me. It's a cold morning here though so maybe I just need to warm up at bit.

I really hope it starts for you @Moni81. Those are good signs. I've been feeling the same as you really had my heart set on her being an august baby. We went for a drive last night (actually a test run to the hospital about 2 hours before we had to go again 😅) the speed bumps there were brutal so maybe that helped me along. I also made a hello fresh meal that was way to spicy for me but ate it anyway. Could be coincidence but it's definitely strange 🤷‍♀️

Moni81 · 29/08/2023 15:16

I didn't feel baby moving much in the morning, had more bloody show so ringed triage, was asked to come in. On way to hospital started to get strong contractions, they checked me and baby started to move like crazy...typical lol. I got 2 cm dilated but it may still be long way. Was offered to bring induction forward for tomorrow, decided to stay on ward as this unpredictable contractions stress me out plus it's 20 min drive to my chosen hospital.
@isitaline97 those bumpy roads can be very painful and can set stronger contractions, so be careful. At this point no matter what you eat can be a trigger or contractions, when they get so strong I feel like going for nr 2 lol. Hope you get some steady progression soon as it's really nervracking with symptoms setting on and off.

Moni81 · 01/09/2023 17:35

Hi everyone, so while I stayed in hospital on Tuesday, I went into spontaneous labour at 3am and gave birth at 6 am on Wednesday. So glad I didn't have to rush to hospital in the middle of night lol. Labour wasn't complicated, but I vomited so much when it started I got dehydrated and was given IV fluids while labouring. Managed without pain meds, surprisingly no tear this time, it still did hurt like hell lol. Hannah is 3.5kg, 55 cm, we are both doing well. Only just left hospital yesterday evening as it's busy place and with all the checks taking while. Was sent home with stomach injections to prevent clots, midwife visited today already and so far recovery is good. Baby has tongue tie, feeding well but can be rough on my nipples, Wil see if she need it snipped later. Hope you all doing well and giving birth as planned. Sending lots of love and good wishes♥️

DandelionPockets · 04/09/2023 17:17

@Moni81 congratulations! Glad to hear you're both doing well 😁❤️

@Moni81 congratulations! Glad you and baby are doing well 🥰

I had my little girl on the 30th ❤️ had to be induced as Labour didn't start! But I reacted instantly to the propess (meant to take 12-24 hours!) within minutes I went from no contractions to crazy strong ones and I was having 7 every 10 mins 😩 baby was distressed so they took it out immediately and sent me to the birth suite. Laboured for about 10 hours but contractions were still coming around 6 every 10 min and baby's heart rate kept dropping so I was rushed for an emergency C section 😩 it's been a crazy week but but we're both here safe and sound and I'm so in love with her 🥰 I didn't know love like this existed! 😍 hope your all getting on well with your newborns.
