Hello @isitaline97 how are you doing? I’m 35 weeks tomorrow and feeling extremely uncomfortable 😬 constant heartburn and exhaustion.

Hope everyone is feeling better than I am!

isitaline97 · 12/07/2023 23:17

@cinnamonbiscuit aah not long at all left! I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and I'm with you on the heartburn!! It's horrendous 🥵 feeling very cramped in there too, had a growth scan yesterday and she is estimated 4lb 4oz so far which they said is right on target but she's very much in my ribs now 😂 don't know how she's gunna get any bigger in there!

allgoodthings84 · 13/07/2023 13:05

Hi all. I’m 33+5 now and have my 34 week midwife appointment tomorrow. I’m so uncomfortable and the heartburn is horrendous but I don’t want baby to come earlier than my c section date which is in 5 weeks and 4 days. I have another 4 weeks and 1 day (after today) at work still as yet too. Finishing work can’t come soon enough as 5 days a week is hard going now but I want the time off after she’s here.

Ally345 · 13/07/2023 13:52

Hi everyone,

32+4 here and real difference in energy/size in the last 2 weeks.

Struggling to keep going with work too and just trying to find the energy to wrap everything and hopefully finish in 4 weeks.

Heartburn also killer and just feel heavy and uncomfortable. On one hand, can't wait to be at the other side of it but also feel I need some time/space for myself before the birth to prepare, relax and process!

Moni81 · 14/07/2023 12:08

33 weeks today, not much of heartburn during day but waking up with acidic feel in my throat. Also feeling uncomfortable, crampy and sore, luckily I stop working Wednesday next week and using holiday until due date. Everything takes me much longer to do at home and my job even though not physical, with zero stress still eats up to my energy which is in short supply. Hoping to go into labour earlier, 39 weeks will be latest they will let me anyway.

isitaline97 · 16/07/2023 20:07

I feel for those of you still working full time! I've cut mine down to 2 days a week as I'm exhausted, I have a slipped disc also which doesn't help 😅 hoping it's not going to cause me problems during labour!

@Ally345 yes I feel like I've gotten massive this last couple of weeks! Movements feel different too, more rolling around and poking than kicking.

I've not had any sort of discussions on birth or literally anything at my midwife appointments yet (I'm 33+3). Is this normal? Been expecting more from them but it's literally just blood pressure, bloods and measuring! Hopefully will have more of a discussion at my 34 week appointment.

cinnamonbiscuit · 19/07/2023 21:08

@isitaline97 It’s been the same for me, I don’t think they bring it up until nearer the time generally. When is your 34 week appointment?

I had a growth scan today at 35+6 and baby is unexpectedly breech! Can’t believe it as she’s been head down on every scan till now 😂 talked everything through with a really nice consultant, and have been provisionally booked in for c section at 38+6- three weeks time 😨😨😨

Im mulling over having an ECV but not really feeling it atm. Baby was also measuring very big, 95th percentile for weight which has shot up since the last scan, and I got the impression the consultant thought a c section was the best option overall although he didn’t explicitly say. It’s all suddenly very real!!

I hope everyone is feeling/doing well!

isitaline97 · 20/07/2023 01:07

@cinnamonbiscuit I have my 34 week appointment tomorrow so I will see what they say!

Oh wow I presumed once they were head down at this point they stayed! Hopefully baby flips around again for you, I have read there are exercises you can do to help them move into position?

Wow it must feel surreal to have a possible date for baby's birth! I hope your doing well otherwise. I'm excited but also getting a bit nervous now 😂

cinnamonbiscuit · 20/07/2023 21:17

@isitaline97 was your appointment today? Hope it was ok if so?

I’m getting extremely nervous too. We’ve moved house three weeks ago and there’s still boxes everywhere, plus I’ve got a huge festival at work next week which is the last thing I’m doing thankfully but long days. Not sure how I’m going to get everything ready in time! Particularly now that there’s a timer ticking down towards the c section 😅

isitaline97 · 21/07/2023 16:53

@cinnamonbiscuit yes I had my appointment all was fairly well, I may have a UTI judging off my urine sample so they're sending it off for proper analysis although I haven't had any symptoms. I was shocked as I haven't had any during my pregnancy so far!

I hope the move went well, I feel your pain we haven't moved but have done some big renovations to our so we've been living out of the bedroom the past week! 😂 can't wait to get back to normality. Take it easy at work, make sure you take breaks to sit down and don't overdue it. At least it'll be the last thing you do before finishing for maternity 😊 I've got about 2 weeks left and feeling more than ready now 😅

Nik84 · 04/08/2023 09:25

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well. Just an update from me, as I have been on insulin for gestational diabetes as my fasting levels weren’t low enough and I’ve got polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid) I’m being induced on Thursday at 37+3. I’m feeling a mix of things to be honest, scared, relieved, worried! It’s all feeling very real.

isitaline97 · 04/08/2023 12:38

@Nik84 oh wow so close now! Do you feel prepared? I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine, they know what they're doing and baby will be full term by then! I bet it's surreal knowing you've less than a week left. Will be thinking off you, enjoy your last week 🥰

Ally345 · 04/08/2023 13:46

Hi @Nik84 }

(I was also diagnosed with GD also in the end and on Metformin for fasting levels. Not going to lie, the diet has been rough and I can't wait to have lots of sugary goodness when baby is out. I am booked for an induction for now on my Due date but they are reviewing next week and may go earlier.)

Hope you are doing okay and can totally understand the mix of emotions, it seems to come around so fast in some ways but feels like an eternity of being pregnant in others. Will be thinking of you.

cinnamonbiscuit · 04/08/2023 20:17

@Nik84 ahh how exciting! I am booked for c section on Wednesday so I kind of know how you feel, it’s all a bit overwhelming! Sorry to hear about the GD, hope it all goes smoothly for you!!

How is everyone else doing? Not long to go now really for anyone!

isitaline97 · 07/08/2023 11:04

@Ally345 sorry to hear about your GD, I bet you can't wait for a sugary snack. All the best to you hope it all goes smoothly as well 😊

@cinnamonbiscuit how exciting! Not long now at all! How are you feeling?

@Nik84 not long for you either!

Crazy to think the first babies of the thread are arriving soon!

I had my midwife appointment last week and baby was 2/5 engaged which I think means 2/5 of the head was palpable? I can tell to be honest getting a lot of pressure down there! They also forgot to book my a double slot for my appointment so not having my labour talk until 38 weeks! Leaving it a little late 😅 thankfully I've done plenty of my own research in case she makes an early arrival

allgoodthings84 · 07/08/2023 12:45

Ooo exciting the babies will start coming soon. Especially for those of you who have GD. My c section is booked for 2 weeks today when I’m 39+2. I’m hoping she doesn’t make an earlier appearance as everything is sorted for then 😂 I’m still at work this week, I finish Friday as wanted to save the time for after the baby is here. I’m looking forward to finishing though.

Moni81 · 07/08/2023 19:04

Now I wish I went for c- section ...my due date is 1st of September Friday, having last scan on 21st August, then midwife on 23rd. Because of my age they said to induce me at 39 weeks, now saying if growth drops will induce me close to due date. Consultant therefore didn't book my induction . Now I don't know what is going to happen. I was hoping for sweep at my last midwife appointment, but I don't think they will do it, pushing me closer to due date with induction. I bet they don't do anything on weekends and I want this baby out last day of August latest . Then my sister in law want to visit us last weekend of August 🙄...seriously I don't know what she is thinking. Then school returns for my other kids soon after baby is born so try to get everything organised for them as early as I can. All this timing is stressing me out ....even though I know the longer baby is inside the better I wish I could have at some certainty.

Stargazer89 · 07/08/2023 19:29

Hi ladies. Can't believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone. Does anyone else feel the same way? I'm booked in for my c section a week on Weds.
Those of you having growth scans how are they looking? Mine predicted that baby was weighing 7pounds 11 at my 36 week scan. I'm not so sure they are very accurate though. Going to pack newborn and 0-3 just to be safe.

allgoodthings84 · 07/08/2023 19:37

@Stargazer89 mine was predicted to be 6lb 10oz at 36+4 weeks growth scan. My daughter was predicted to be 7lb 9oz at due date but was born 6lb 12oz at 8 days late so I definitely don’t trust their accuracy.

@Moni81 could you ask about a c section?

Moni81 · 07/08/2023 19:54

@allgoodthings84 Well, apparently every woman has right to choose one now, so why not. However I'm more scared of spinal injection than labour pain lol ....so I guess it's just me moaning lol

allgoodthings84 · 07/08/2023 20:07

@Moni81 ahhh a lot of people are scared of epidural/spinal needles. I was before my emergency c section with my daughter but I was stuck with so many needles during that labour that I got over it quickly. They have found on my 36 weeks scan that this one would likely go the same way so definitely glad I chose the c section.

cinnamonbiscuit · 07/08/2023 20:49

So I went in for my pre op appointment today, midwife was surprised that I hadn’t been offered another scan since last appointment. She did a quick one and of course baby is head down 🤦 which isn’t the worst news in the world but I was SO mentally prepped to meet baby on Wednesday!

After a chat with consultant we decided an induction on Saturday is the way forward due to estimated size of baby. Also kind of want to keep it vaguely planned if possible because DH works out on the motorways at night, he can be 100 miles away so if anything happens quickly at night it could be v stressful. Just hoping that doesn’t end up happening this week now 🤞

I had an absolutely dreadful induction with my first with no time for epidural, the midwife today wrote all over the place NEEDS EARLY EPIDURAL so really hoping for a better experience this time.

@Stargazer89 my DD was estimated 9lb 15 at 39 weeks, she came out 8lb 3 at 40+4. This baby was estimated 7lb 7 at 36 weeks, but I’m not worrying too much about that based on what happened last time. I found that newborn fitted perfectly, 0-1 worked after 2-3 weeks and she didn’t fit 0-3 at all until she was 6 weeks.

@isitaline97 sounds promising! Sorry remind me is this your first?

Moni81 · 07/08/2023 23:05

@allgoodthings84 i had no growth scans with previous pregnancies so have no comparison in how accurate they are. However if I see her on 50th centile for individual measurement charts and then on antenatal growth chart with weight just above 10th centile...it's all gibrish to me lol. My first daughter was 3.4 kg around 41 weeks, the other 3.7kg day before due date. Only 300g difference, but one was light like breeze, the other one so heavy to handle, I guess different body structure. This one may be apparently the lightest of them, let's wait and see. Having those scans sets your mind and you may end up with big surprise, hope mine will not be far from predictions and no more than 3.5kg

isitaline97 · 08/08/2023 18:11

My growth scan was 5lb 12oz last week at 36+1 which they said was good for that stage, although I could help think maybe a little small? Seems to be bang on average tho and both me and DP were small babies.

@allgoodthings84 your a trooper for still working! Hope your last week goes well. If finished last Thursday and time seems to have really slowed down since! 😂

@Moni81 sounds like a lot of back and forthing! Hope you get some clarity soon. Can your sister in law not visit a little later or does she live far away etc? It's difficult with family isn't it as you don't want to offend anyone but also you need your space.

@cinnamonbiscuit aah that must be frustrating for you! Obviously it's good news in way but you must have been so ready for tomorrow! I hope baby holds off until Saturday for you so DH will be with you. Yes this is my first and I've read baby can drop into place 2-3 weeks early for first babies so might be a bit off yet!

allgoodthings84 · 08/08/2023 18:23

@isitaline97 growth scan charts are based on each pregnant persons circumstances such as your weight at booking in, your height, previous child’s weight etc so 5lb 12oz could be perfectly fine and not small for you but could be on a lower centile % for someone else if you see what I mean. They don’t take partners details into consideration. They also aren’t very often very accurate. Definitely weren’t with my daughter. The sonographer told me last week that they can be up to 15% out either way which is quite a lot for something so small 😂
