@cinnamonbiscuit ooh exciting! 🥰 I hope all goes well for you and baby, best of luck

@Moni81 I'm with you on the waddling 😂my belly is just itchy atm, especially my belly button 😅 Thank-you I will keep an eye out!

cinnamonbiscuit · 16/08/2023 11:33

She's here! Baby Katie was born last night at 11pm, 8lb 1oz. Had several tough days of failed induction, but once they broke my waters yesterday it all went very quickly, and no tears/stitches at all. Epidural went in just in the nick of time and kept me nice and relaxed for pushing. Can't believe I managed it on my own!

Good luck to everyone still waiting, hope it won't be too long now 🤞

Preggobelly · 16/08/2023 12:20

Congratulations 💗 I’m glad it all went well!

Still another 2 week wait for my planned section over here! 🙈

isitaline97 · 16/08/2023 17:28

@cinnamonbiscuit congratulations!! 🎉 bless you you went in on Saturday for the initial induction didn't you? You've had a rough few days! Lovely to hear all went well for you and baby 🩷

@Preggobelly I'm due 2 weeks tomorrow, feels like time is dragging so much! Been having some Braxton hicks but nothing major yet. Hopefully she comes soon I can't wait 😅

Moni81 · 16/08/2023 22:50

@cinnamonbiscuit congratulations, it took a while but most important baby arrived well and birth was not traumatic Having no stitches is an achievement .....I had secondary twice, however they tightened me up well lol so can't complain.
@isitaline97 I'm due on the first as well. I started to panic a bit as feeling very heavy down there and getting more regular contractions that come and go. Couldn't arrange room until now, as only got new grown up wardrobes for my older daughters delivered couple of days ago and moved others to baby room. So basically only just finished washing baby stuff and put everything in place, just need to pack up hospital bag tomorrow ....should have it done ages ago. Asking man for what you need is like talking to an alien, he wouldn't have clue.

allgoodthings84 · 17/08/2023 07:58

@cinnamonbiscuit congratulations! 💕

I was having mild contractions every 20 mins or so yesterday afternoon/evening but I have woken up and they’ve stopped thankfully. I really don’t want to go into natural labour before my c section on Monday after my previous birth and I’m worried about if I do what stage will I know/realise it’s actual labour and call up to go in for my c section as an emergency one 🤦🏻‍♀️

Preggobelly · 17/08/2023 10:09

@isitaline97 how exciting! 💗 it won’t be long now hopefully!

@allgoodthings84 oh god! Did you phone the hospital to see about going up as you have a planned section? Just in case things progress quickly if they start again. I hope they don’t though!

allgoodthings84 · 17/08/2023 10:19

@Preggobelly nah I didn’t ring as they were 30 mins apart and really mild so I knew chances were it could be false labour. If it starts up again though I will ring up for advice to see what they say about when I should go in etc.

Preggobelly · 17/08/2023 10:42

@allgoodthings84 that’s good! Hopefully things are nice and quiet in the run up to Monday so it’s as calm and smooth as possible for you. Good luck!

Nik84 · 17/08/2023 10:59

Baby Maxwell arrived at 10:13 on Tuesday morning weighing 7lb 15oz. Induction started on Thursday and waters broken on Monday. Unfortunately had to have the drip and Max’s head wasn’t in the right position so it was a long 11 hour labour. No epidural as nobody available to administer. So relieved he arrived safely and very happy he’s a boy!

Preggobelly · 17/08/2023 11:41

@Nik84 wow that sounds like a long and tough labour but well done! Enjoy your baby boys newborn cuddles 💙

allgoodthings84 · 17/08/2023 12:46

@Nik84 congratulations! 💕 sounds like a very long drawn out labour but glad he’s here safely smile

allgoodthings84 · 17/08/2023 12:47

@Preggobelly no pains today just the normal pressure I’ve been feeling for weeks so fingers crossed she stays put ha ha

Stargazer89 · 18/08/2023 04:48

congratulations on the new babies, what wonderful news. My little (or not so little) one arrived safe and sound, weighing 10lb. Exhausted because he won't sleep but the sleepless nights are worth it.

cinnamonbiscuit · 18/08/2023 06:38

@Stargazer89 congrats!! It really is absolutely exhausting in the first days isn't it😴 so pleased for you though!

We are finally home from the hospital after 6 extremely emotional days. Hope everyone else isn't waiting too long for their new arrivals !

allgoodthings84 · 18/08/2023 09:00

@Stargazer89 congratulations! 💕

I’ve got my c section pre op appointment late this afternoon ready for the c section on Monday. I am nervous though even though I had an emergency one before it’s the unknown

Preggobelly · 18/08/2023 09:34

@Stargazer89 congratulations 💙 the sleepless nights are hard but as you say, worth it and hopefully won’t last long!

ILookAtTheFloor · 18/08/2023 13:45

I'm still here, 38+5, having a few niggles but doubt anything is imminent! Starting to get nervous about the birth, must remember that I've managed it twice before haha! So excited to meet baby though!

Owlgirl14 · 18/08/2023 23:25

I'm still here too, 39+2. No signs at all that this little madam is coming anytime soon.

Congratulations to all the new babies, I can't wait to join this club!

isitaline97 · 19/08/2023 11:33

@Nik84 congratulations! Sorry you had a long labour but at least here is here now safe and sound and it sounds like your both doing well ❤️

@Stargazer89 congratulations! Hope you managed to get a bit of sleep last night? Like you say it's all worth it though 🥰

@allgoodthings84 hope your pre-op went well!

I'm still here too! 38 + 2! Got some major pressure down there, and I'm getting more frequent braxton hicks but nothing major yet.

At my 38 week appointment my midwife mentioned they offer a sweep at 39 weeks, is this the done thing? I thought it would be at least 40 weeks they offer that! I don't think I will take her up on it although tempting 😂 I just can't wait for her arrival now.

Moni81 · 19/08/2023 11:40

@isitaline97 normally sweep would be offered after due date, I had one at 40+5 with first daughter. This time because of my age they want baby out no later than due date, so plan is to have sweep first then induction if it doesn't work. Anyway I'm having scan on Monday so will find out what timing of it will be. I guess in your case they also don't want you to go overdue.

Owlgirl14 · 19/08/2023 23:33

@isitaline97 I was offered a sweep at 39 weeks too. Was quite surprised but apparently it's the new guidelines you can now have them earlier.

I declined though as it is a form of intervention and can't always be done if your cervix isn't open/favourable anyway.

I'm going to let her come in her own time 😊

isitaline97 · 21/08/2023 20:58

@Moni81 this is what I thought! They just said they now offer it a week earlier. I hope your scan went well today!

@Owlgirl14 exactly she did say it may not even work if your not ready anyway so I feel it's best to just wait.

I have developed an awful rash on my hands and feet though, it's incredibly itchy! I've had bloods done and it's not cholestasis thankfully, it's looking like this PUPPPS rash which I'm told the only cure is to give birth. Currently soaking in an oatmeal bath hoping it soothes my itching, stinks like porridge though 😂

Moni81 · 21/08/2023 21:44

@isitaline97 I had scan and consultant today, they booked me for induction one day before due date lol, so hopefully I will not need it. They offered me sweep coming Friday at 39 weeks but I don't want to give birth during poorly staffed weekend so asked for Monday. The way I feel it can happen any day now 🙈 baby gained 600g in 2 weeks and is now at nearly 3400g😬getting fat tummy lol.

Last weeks is no fan, you get itchy, my joints are swollen and apart on and off bump cramps I get cramps in legs, feet when walking longer distance. Today had to walk 10 min from hospital to train station, took ages and had to stop all the time as I was one big walking cramp 🙄

ILookAtTheFloor · 23/08/2023 20:29

Hi All! Had my boy, Ellis, this afternoon at midday, 39+3. Had another fab homebirth, very hands off.

Good luck to all still waiting!
