@allgoodthings84 aah I never knew this! That's good to know Thank-you 😊 yes definitely it still feels quite subjective how they measure it on the screen? They said all was well and the placenta/cord function was great so that puts my mind at ease

allgoodthings84 · 08/08/2023 19:34

@isitaline97 I only found out during this pregnancy from my midwife. I had no idea either during my last pregnancy and her growth scans. It’s great they said it’s all looking good, they would definitely say if they had any concerns. My daughter was 6lb 12oz at 8 days late (so 41+1 gestation) and yes that’s small but not under 10th centile so no concern. 5lb 12oz at 36 weeks wouldn’t be lower than 10th centile as they tend to gain around 0.5lbs (Ish) a week in the last 4 weeks. I was born 5lb 9oz at 38 weeks and wasn’t considered too small 😊

Moni81 · 08/08/2023 21:03

@isitaline97 well, my scan was 36 weeks and 3 days 2664g so kind of similar to yours, on chart doesn't look average as it's just above 10 centile.

FL 68.1mm, AC 311mm, HC 328.8mm...all 3 charts plotted in the middle line. So they must take into account some other factors for weight chart. Consultant is happy as baby follows the line, but it's a bit confusing to me.

Thank-you both for your replies! It is super confusing 😂 I think your right they must take into account other things as well. Hope everyone is feeling good today

Moni81 · 10/08/2023 21:34

37 weeks tomorrow and I'm getting so big, swollen, they should give pregnant women blue badge in last month of pregnancy 😬🤣 anyone in same boat ?

allgoodthings84 · 10/08/2023 22:24

Yep with you there. I’m 38 weeks Saturday and tomorrow is my last day at work thankfully. I’m struggling now in the afternoons. Feel like my bump has suddenly got massive in the last couple weeks.

isitaline97 · 11/08/2023 07:02

@Moni81 yes I feel the same 😅 my bump has gotten considerably bigger this past few weeks. Causing me a lot of back and hip pain! Also think I'm suffering with PGP too, getting out of bed/rolling over in bed is a struggle! We've not long now that's what I keep telling myself 😂 been bouncing on my exercise ball for some relief!

@allgoodthings84 hope your last day of work goes well! Then finally time to have a little rest before baby comes

allgoodthings84 · 11/08/2023 07:56

@isitaline97 its definitely hard rolling out of bed I bet it looks well funny 😂. No rest for me though before baby. My 8 year old will be with me all day every day on summer holidays 😂

Moni81 · 11/08/2023 10:10

@isitaline97 I finished work 3 weeks ago same time as school break, my 11 and 13 year old daughters knew this summer will have to be different. Yes they still get lots of time for themselves, going cadets, football training, seeing friends, but help a lot too. I'm sure your daughter is old enough to entertain herself and give you hand when needed.

Stargazer89 · 11/08/2023 11:03

Same here. Feeling awful by the afternoon. From my knees down is particularly painful and it's keeping me up at night. Not long at all now though. I haven't put any weight on the last couple of weeks but feel as though my bump is so tight. My toddler is finding it hard to understand that I need to test a bit more and gets upset when I can't run after her etc I'm hoping she will be ok once baby arrives and whilst i'm recovering from c section. Is anyone who is having their second feeling guilty for their first?

ILookAtTheFloor · 11/08/2023 11:38

Hi all, I'm 37+5, doing ok although I have sore finger joints when I wake in the morning! Google suggests it's a thing.

Been having lots of BH on and off, some quite uncomfortable but I had the same with number 2 so not particularly paying much attention! The home birth kit is here and I think we have everything ready. The worst thing is not knowing when it's all going to start.

cinnamonbiscuit · 11/08/2023 12:07

@Stargazer89 im feeling awful for my DD, she’s been so happy the last few weeks and has no idea her world is about to turn upside down 🙃 she’s going to stay with my parents tonight as I’m going in for induction tomorrow and I’m going to cry my eyes out! It is so hard.

Stargazer89 · 11/08/2023 12:31

@cinnamonbiscuit how old is your daughter? My daughter is the same, she's been so happy being at home with me the past couple of weeks. She's going to stay with grandparents next week when we go for the c section and it's going to be so hard.
Good luck with the induction tomorrow.

isitaline97 · 11/08/2023 14:09

Aah I feel for you all who have children to look after, I'm knackered I don't know how your all doing it! Just walking the dog is tiring 😅 those with DC do you think they will react well? Or be a little jealous? It's hard for them as well isn't it a whole new dynamic to the family! I'm sure they will make great big siblings though.
@cinnamonbiscuit good luck with your induction tomorrow! I hope everything goes smoothly for you

@ILookAtTheFloor I'm the same with my back in the morning it's so stiff! Eases up a little once I get moving. I would love a home birth must be quite exciting getting all the kit ready! I'm hoping to give birth at my local birth centre if all goes well. I feel you though it's hard not knowing when it's all going to kick off! Feel like everything is on hold for a few weeks now 😂

cinnamonbiscuit · 11/08/2023 17:48

@Stargazer89 she’s 2.5 so she really has no clue what’s happening 😅 how old is yours?

@isitaline97 thank you! Once I’ve had the epidural I’ll be happy!! Hope to update on here within a few days!

allgoodthings84 · 11/08/2023 20:21

Work is all done and I had some lovely gifts and a cash collection. Very generous of them 🥰

had my last midwife appointment today (38 weeks) and bump measuring the same as 2 weeks ago so I’ve got to go for another growth scan early next week. Will be my 5th growth scan (various reasons) and everything been fine every time so I’m not worried and I’m pretty sure my bump has grown 😂. I was meant to be meeting my 2 friends Monday afternoon and they’ve planned something special so I’m feeling bad that there’s a good chance I’ll have to cancel. I’m also not sure what to do with my daughter for childcare if it’s before 3pm as there’s no one Monday who can have her until 2.30. Got to wait for a call Monday morning so fingers crossed it’s on Tuesday although still same issue with childcare unfortunately. Monday-Wednesday this week is the only time in the whole school holidays I can have no help 🤦🏻‍♀️

Owlgirl14 · 11/08/2023 23:38

@ILookAtTheFloor I've been having a sore hand/fingers the last few mornings too. Assumed I'd just been lying on it but maybe it is a pregnancy thing.

@cinnamonbiscuit Good luck for your induction tomorrow. Hope it goes well for you x

Moni81 · 12/08/2023 07:12

@Owlgirl14 it started with swollen legs, feet but past couple of days I wake up with stiff fingers and can't see veins on my hands. Feels like my whole body started to hold water 😬

Ally345 · 12/08/2023 10:20

@cinnamonbiscuit good luck today ❤️ can’t believe it’s all here now

isitaline97 · 12/08/2023 11:29

@allgoodthings84 aah that lovely off your work friends 🥰 aah I'm sure it's nothing to worry about! I'm sure I've read somewhere as your bumps drops it can appear to be measuring smaller anyway. They are a bit of a nightmare with booking in scans aren't they! When I had my last one they rang me same day and told me to come which isn't ideal especially if you have children! I'm sure all will be fine with baby keep us updated.

@Moni81 have you mentioned it to your midwife?

@cinnamonbiscuit Thinking of you today! Good Luck ❤️

Moni81 · 12/08/2023 12:24

@isitaline97 it's edema, which is normal in last stages of pregnancy, when body prepares for labour, I just hope it doesn't happen in next 1-2 weeks as I stil have lots of things to be sorted at home. As long as it's even and not only in one hand or leg there shouldn't be any underlying condition. My heart rate is fine, Its just baby growing and putting strain on circulation, everyone experience it differently though. Using water feet massager helps a little, but today morning my daughter asked me to stitch badge on her cadets uniform and my fingers did feel awkward in this job lol.

isitaline97 · 12/08/2023 19:33

@Moni81 aah that's good to know! Oh no stitching is a fiddly job at the best of times 😂 that's awesome she's in cadets though. I hope it doesn't get too bad for you, I have some very slight swelling in my fingers but only noticeable because my engagement ring was a little loose and now it fits quite nicely, seems about the same in both hands but will keep my eye on it. Hope everyone has a nice evening

cinnamonbiscuit · 12/08/2023 19:47

Thanks all! Pessary is in, nothing happening yet but I was already 2cm so I’m thinking it might not be long till it kicks off! Hope you’re all having a nice evening x

Moni81 · 12/08/2023 21:18

@isitaline97 it gets better during day, moving around helps blood flowing. It 's just I'm waddling now, can't keep legs straight together and get sore underbelly 🤣 As long as one joint doesn't swell out of proportion you are fine, it's just to look out for blood clots symptoms.
@cinnamonbiscuit fingers crossed all goes well and speedy for you. There is induction on cards for me too, so interested how things work out for others.
