Hi all, I found out I am expecting my second baby on Wednesday, and I'm 5 weeks today. Early days, but wanted to start a thread for those with similar due dates so we can go through the motions together. ☺️
I'm due 10th September. My little boy will be 2 and 3 quarters by then, so a good little age gap.

Any anxieties? For me, less so about the pregnancy this time around, far more chill. My anxiety is surrounding timing. Baby 2 wasn't planned for just now, but a happy surprise and very much wanted. However, the most instrumental career opportunity for me is coming up in the next 2-4 months or so, and I was hoping to get this role. It may or may not have come off anyway, but I don't want my pregnancy to be the determining factor (I don't think my company would outwardly discriminate, but they might find a 'business reason' I wasn't successful), so I ideally need to keep my pregnancy hidden from work for as long as possible. If I get the role, I will have no worries in taking Mat leave around August and return next year, as I know I'll do a damn good job for them once I'm back, and for the foreseeable future. Anyway... that's my one thing at the mo! ☺️

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

@CatJD so sorry to hear this. Thinking of you and sending hugs 💕

Pinklilly · 20/01/2023 21:27

@CatJD im so sorry to hear this and I hope you aren’t in any pain.

@Bubblemachiene im Also 4 weeks 5 days and no symptoms. Feeling a bit odd about it as with my first baby I was feeling very sick by now but k had hyperemesis and honestly I’m not sure how I’ll manage that again if I do experience it. But I completely understand how you feel it’s unnerving not having symptoms

Gymbelle · 21/01/2023 08:23

I have just had my BFP! I'm 36 and this will be my first after lots of miscarriages. Estimated DD of 30th Sept.

Thinking positive and look forward to sharing this journey with you

Can I join? 5+3 today, due Sept 20th. Seems so far away.
No symptoms yet here just a bit of bloating. Put on loads of weight in my last pregnancy, was just starting to get back to myself. Sounds so vain but I really don't want all the weight gain again. So going to try and eat really well. But we'll see how that goes when the sickness and cravings kick in.

mummmmyj · 21/01/2023 12:14

@Msmossy SAME! Lockdown did me dirty on my last pregnancy and I gained 3.5 stone HAHA. I really don’t want to do that again as I’ve only just got back to my pre baby weight! Also no symptoms here really, I didn’t have any with DS so I’m half hoping I’m lucky again but it doesn’t help the anxiety! How old is your DC? My DS will be 2 in May x

Msmossy · 21/01/2023 14:10

@mummmmyj same amount of weight gain here! It was so hard to lose. He'll be 2 in June. This will be number 4 for us. With the first 2 I left hospital in normal pre pregnancy clothes so that's what I brought when having DC3. Ended up having to wear my pyjama bottoms home embarrassingly. So stupidly optimistic 😂

Has anyone else found their toddlers or other DCs super clingy?
Since the 4 week mark I'm all the toddler wants. Up until that point Daddy was the firm favourite. It's like they can sense the change coming.

Seraphina1993 · 21/01/2023 19:22

Can I join found out I'm 5 weeks today due sept 23rd with no2

That's what I get for using and relying on expired ovulation tests 😂

Butterflygirl23 · 21/01/2023 19:33

Maraudingmarauders · 22/01/2023 00:37

Congratulations @Butterflygirl23 how exciting. Is this a first pregnancy?

I've been out for a party tonight. Had to do the "pulled the short straw so I'm designated driver" routine. Thankfully the friend hosting actually knows the truth so was good for moving the conversation on when I needed her too! I just found it so exhausting being on my feet all the time and I'm so bloated I had to spend most of the evening trying not to burp at people.
Had a burger at a restaurant before we went, managed about half before I started feeling sick and have to leave it (distressing, it was a great burger) and then friend had wonderful cheese and charcuterie platters out and I had to limit myself to nuts and cheddar. Such a waste... (I'm a real foodie so this hits hard)

8 weeks tomorrow, eek. We've been debating booking in for an earlier scan but in all honesty we are so busy I think 22nd Feb will roll around soon enough...

Butterflygirl23 · 22/01/2023 04:24

Thank you, I can't sleep, it took me hours to fall asleep I've woken up twice to go to the toilet. Im still in shock im pregnant I've had sickness early on I started last Sunday night I went to brush my teeth then everyday this week at work I've had to run to the bathroom to be sick, I kept saying to a girl at work can sickness start this early lol because she's pregnant too. It's my first yes what about you? We are booking a pirate scan

mummmmyj · 22/01/2023 06:25

I totally forgot about the early pregnancy insomnia.. wide awake from 3am and then my DS woke for the day at 6am. Thankfully it’s Sunday but resting really is minimal with a toddler 😂

Gymbelle · 22/01/2023 08:07

@Butterflygirl23 congratulations! We have the same estimated due date.

@mummmmyj the insomnia is the worst - I have been up since 4am. I track sleep on my Garmin watch and it was my first symptom - it kept flashing poor sleep.

Thank you congratulations to you too!!! Morning sickness is real😷

Bubblemachiene · 22/01/2023 08:30

Anyone not had any sickness? I'm 5 weeks today & non so far

mummmmyj · 22/01/2023 08:34

@Bubblemachiene no sickness here yet and I’m 5 weeks tomorrow, I didn’t have any with my first pregnancy so I’m hoping to be lucky again but I know it’s meant to peak around week 6 so I’m not telling myself in out the sick woods yet. Absolutely HATE being sick too

Bubblemachiene · 22/01/2023 08:52

Ah I know,
My flo app says 5 weeks and emmas diary says 4+6 so I'm either or haha.
I didn't have sickness with my son but I had it every morning with my daughter, although not actually being sick just feeling queezy. I just can't remember what week it started.

winningeasy · 22/01/2023 08:57

I'm having weird dreams and they are all related to water somehow, mainly because I need to get up and have a wee!

Exciting..yes first pregnancy here too. Interesting about the insomnia. I'm normally a terrible sleeper but have been out like a light the last few nights except to get up to use the bathroom!

Caxmas · 22/01/2023 09:46

I’m 6 weeks today and after having very few symptoms, if any, yesterday the sickness arrived with full force. Was hoping I might feel a bit better today and be able to do something with the weekend, but no!

it’s my first pregnancy and it feels like both days I’ve woken up with the hangover from hell!

Maraudingmarauders · 22/01/2023 10:40

@caxmas - yes 6/7 weeks was when mine kicked in full force after nothing. Hangover is a good way to describe it. I'm so fatigued too. Really hope for all our sakes it settles down in a couple of weeks as it's going to be hard to pretend at work if I carry on feeling like this!

mynewname25 · 22/01/2023 11:48

hello, looking to join. Im 4+6 and EDD is 27th September.

Will be 3rd DC all being well. Have had a couple of MC over the years so trying not to get too excited/invested but its so hard not to!

Planning on booking a reassurance scan around the 9 week mark as previous MC have been around this point.

So far only symptoms have been twinges and a heavy feeling in uterous. plus painful breasts.

Due to a few reasons im hoping to hide it from my work until end april but bing my 3rd im not sure how feesible this is :-D

Bubblemachiene · 22/01/2023 15:13

If anyone Is booking private early scans how much are you paying? The prices vary for 3 clinics I've checked.

£45, £60 or £80

Summerwaves8 · 22/01/2023 18:59

Hi EDD 30th September.
I was originally on the due May 2023 thread however had a missed miscarriage at 9/10 weeks which we discovered when we went for a private scan in October.
Hoping for a better outcome this time ☺️
