5 weeks today! Sep 23 Thread

Hi all, I found out I am expecting my second baby on Wednesday, and I'm 5 weeks today. Early days, but wanted to start a thread for those with similar due dates so we can go through the motions together. ☺️
I'm due 10th September. My little boy will be 2 and 3 quarters by then, so a good little age gap.

Any anxieties? For me, less so about the pregnancy this time around, far more chill. My anxiety is surrounding timing. Baby 2 wasn't planned for just now, but a happy surprise and very much wanted. However, the most instrumental career opportunity for me is coming up in the next 2-4 months or so, and I was hoping to get this role. It may or may not have come off anyway, but I don't want my pregnancy to be the determining factor (I don't think my company would outwardly discriminate, but they might find a 'business reason' I wasn't successful), so I ideally need to keep my pregnancy hidden from work for as long as possible. If I get the role, I will have no worries in taking Mat leave around August and return next year, as I know I'll do a damn good job for them once I'm back, and for the foreseeable future. Anyway... that's my one thing at the mo! ☺️

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

I'm 7 weeks today.

Anon1234677 · 18/01/2023 23:22

If my LMP was 15 December and clear blue digital on Saturday said 1-2 weeks. When can I book an early scan for?

thanks

FarmBaby3 · 19/01/2023 09:57

@Anon1234677 some places do it from 6 weeks pregnant which would be 26th January but ones near me it's from 7 weeks so 2nd February.

Nypie · 19/01/2023 16:01

@RosyCheeks93 Im also feeling the bloattt though yours makes more sense as youve been pregnant before!

CatJD · 19/01/2023 18:50

I think you're definitely pregnant. I got the same tests and found them reliable.

Congratulations!

I'm just coming up on week 6!

Sadiexox · 19/01/2023 18:53

I had a scan today because I'm cramping the other day, I'm measuring 5 weeks but only gestational sac and yolk was found, I'm supposed to be 5+4 and I'm only getting 2-3 on digital tests too, I'm probably over thinking everything damnnnn I just want to know if my babies okay :(

I've had tender breasts too but thankfully no nausea as yet.

Anyone else had any spot bleeding around week 5-6?

First pregnancy so feeling quite anxious!

BeatAroundTheBush · 19/01/2023 19:44

@Sadiexox it's so hard not to overthink everything! Got everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

BeatAroundTheBush · 19/01/2023 19:46

@CatJD first pregnancy here too (6 weeks today) and similarly haven't had any nausea but just tired and sore boobs.

I did have a tiny bit of spotting today, sorry if it's TMI but it was really light pink/orange and only once when I wiped. No idea if I'm meant to call the Dr about it or if it's normal?

CatJD · 19/01/2023 19:50

@BeatAroundTheBush congratulations!

I called the early pregnancy assessment unit since I've had it a couple of times but they said to just monitor symptoms, contact them if it worsens and take another test in a week.

Hoping it's just implantation bleeding and isn't anything more serious!

BeatAroundTheBush · 19/01/2023 20:42

@CatJD thanks and same to you! Oh that's good, at least they're not too worried. I'll give them a call in the morning just to put my mind at ease!

winningeasy · 19/01/2023 21:48

@CatJD sounds very normal, I had a few bleeds through last pregnancy - the fact it's pinky is a good sign

Try to put it out your mind x

Maraudingmarauders · 19/01/2023 22:29

Hello, I had my booking in appointment today - marked as 7+4. Due date is 3rd September. Scan booked in for 22nd Feb.
Nauseous most days but nothing I can't tolerate. Main issue I'm having is stomache, everything I eat leaves me with a kind of indigestion - but similar to when I had gastroenteritis and an aggravated stomach lining. Hoping it passes soon.

Lal33 · 20/01/2023 07:43

Tell you what ladies, I hope I'm not going to be one of those people that gets all the chappy symptoms under the sun.

I've woken up literally drenched in sweat every night for almost a week now.

My back (which is bad with disc disease anyway thanks to hEDS) went POP! Yesterday and I spent an hour unable to move on the (stone - read: cold) kitchen floor and even though I'm lucky if I'm a 34B on a good day with the wind blowing in the right direction, my boobs are agony to the point I'm wearing a regular (comfy, non-wired bralette) bra AND a pin the buggers down so they can't move no matter what sports bra.

To top it off, my sex drive is through the roof DESPITE the above, which makes things uncomfortable whichever way you look at it 🤣🤣

And I'm only 4+2.

Send help.

mummmmyj · 20/01/2023 08:22

@Lal33 😂😂😂

I’m 4+4 and have no symptoms really, my boobs hurt a bit and I gagged making DS porridge this morning.. everyone said your second goes so much faster and so far I can confirm that is a big fat lie 😂 Get me to 7 weeks asap so I can book a private scan 🙏

HattieRosa · 20/01/2023 09:56

I just had my second early scan. I'm 7 weeks exactly today. ALL IS WELL and no ectopic like last time! They've said that now I just need to come back for my 12 week scan. I cried with relief and we even got to see the heartbeat 💓 💗 💖
Literally jumping with joy!

Got a call from the midwife yesterday she wants to me to come in on Monday. What do I expect from this visit?

Tinkerbell098 · 20/01/2023 13:43

@HattieRosa that's amazing! What a relief! I've got my scan on Tuesday. So so nervous as I have zero symptoms and 7 weeks tomorrow!

Bubblemachiene · 20/01/2023 16:16

Anyoelse 4.4 have symptoms? I've non really.

Is that your booking in?
I've been quite uncomfortable today, lots of cramping, occasional stabbing pains. Some central and some on left side so I'm worrying about ectopic/miscarriage. It's not agonising but definitely uncomfortable at times. I don't want to fuss unnecessarily but also don't want to miss important signs. Google has just confused me further. I wasn't going to get an early scan but perhaps I should to put my mind at rest about ectopic at least/identify if there is a problem.

Food aversion is also very real and alive for me... I made a pasta dish which I loved for the first two lunches and then nearly vomited over today just looking at it. All I want to eat is crunchy vegetables.

gingermumma95 · 20/01/2023 18:06

So I'm 5wks2days and so far had 1 evening of awful nausea and some lower abdomen pain and NOTHING ELSE. With my first I was so sick at this point... Its making me a bit paranoid but I know all pregnancies are different and it's still early but God I just want to Feel pregnant and know for sure what is going on!! 8 Week Appt is on Feb 9th, feels like forever, and then another month til the scan. Sounds odd but I hope I get a little nauseated soon hahahah.

CatJD · 20/01/2023 18:23

Sadly I have now developed heavier bleeding with small clots and have been having stronger cramping all day. Talked to Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and it seems fairly certain that it's a miscarriage.

It just wasn't to be this time. I'm a little sad and a bit disappointed but I knew that there was a high chance of it happening since it happens to a lot of women so I'm not feeling too down about it. Also since we conceived quite quickly after we started trying I'm hopeful that it won't be too long before we're expecting again.

Wishing all of you the best as you continue on your pregnancy journey x

mummmmyj · 20/01/2023 18:31

@CatJD I’m sorry ❤️ I had a MC at 5 weeks before I conceived my DS and it’s heartbreaking but I promise your time will come. I took a cycle break to reset and then conceived DS after and now couldn’t imagine a life without him being my boy. Thinking of you and sending love x

BeatAroundTheBush · 20/01/2023 18:46

@CatJD so sorry to hear that 💐 hope you're able to get some rest this weekend x

BeatAroundTheBush · 20/01/2023 18:48

@HattieRosa great news, that must have been such a relief!

My midwife messaged me today saying she'll call next week to arrange the booking appointment. I've also received a letter for my 12 week scan on 9th March (although I'll be 13 weeks by my dates) 🤞🏻
