Thank you for setting up a new one :)

Ubbee · 20/11/2022 06:45

Morning 🙂 and thank you for the new thread.

26 weeks tomorrow - can’t believe how quickly this pregnancy is going!
Has anyone else had a birth choices appointment with a consultant or having one this time? I’m not really sure what to expect.

Blocklynn · 20/11/2022 07:05

Thank you for the new thread 😊

Is anyone struggling with backache due to how they are sleeping? I’ve had this since early pregnancy, got a special pillow thing which worked for a while but not anymore 😞
I’m waking up multiple times a night with one leg sideways under the pillow which is how I go to sleep but then my top half is twisted onto my back. I’ve tried just using two normal pillows which worked for a little while but this morning my back is really hurting.
Any ideas of what I could do to help it please?

LittleAcorn20 · 20/11/2022 07:06

Thread 5 wow 👋 Hi!
I never joined anything like this with my first and I'm absolutely loving having this little network of mums to go through pregnancy with 😊 lovely to be sharing it with you all wherever we may be in the country 💖

LittleAcorn20 · 20/11/2022 07:10

@Blocklynn if it is a lower back pain try a pregnancy support band in the day.
I don't think it'd be comfy/recommended to wear at night.
But it supports your back alignment and posture in the day so it might just have a positive knock on effect.
Also yoga stretches before bed and then again in the morning to ease it.
I go to an antenatal yoga class, but there are supposedly many good YouTube vids for antenatal yoga too 😊

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 20/11/2022 07:16

Hey, I've missed a whole thread, oops. Been struggling badly with anxiety so trying to limit my Mumsnet time.

Also I'm officially team blue 💙

Blocklynn · 20/11/2022 07:21

@LittleAcorn20 thanks. I keep meaning to do some yoga so will definitely try that.
Once I’m up for a little while my back is ok, I walk everyday which seems to help, it’s just overnight and for maybe an hour first thing.
I’ll look into a band and see if that helps too 🙂

I have,As with my last 2xDc, consultant said I would have 2xsweeps before dd and again induction at 40 weeks- I had both Dc at 40+1.
Im coming up for 22weeks now and its gone so fast I feel!

I am starting to feel paranoid though, I developed Pre- eclampsia at 24week with Dc1, had her at 27 weeks, my last 3x Dc thoigh have been full term- hoping this is case thi time too

Cdoc · 20/11/2022 07:49

Thank you @TeddyBeans 😊 place marking too

@firstlittleone I'm 23 weeks now, which I know is still relatively early but I felt so much more with my previous babies at this point it's hard not to compare!

@Ubbee I had one in my previous pregnancy as I'd had an emergency c section before, so had the chance to talk about the options I had for that birth. They've not offered me one this time as they've just decided it'll be another c section without asking me 😒

ChristmasJumpers · 20/11/2022 09:09

@LittleAcorn20 I hadn't thought of yoga, I'll have to look it up! Getting dreadful back ache up at my shoulders and neck in the mornings.

Thanks for the new thread @TeddyBeans 💕

Room4onemore · 20/11/2022 10:01

Feeling plenty of movement this morning, I’m 23+2 now so not long until I’m 24 weeks, I have a consultant appointment on Tuesday so I’m going to ask about if I need to be induced due to my age, I’ve been induced on my due date the last 2 pregnancies so I’m expecting it again this time. I think I need to admit myself to the asylum as I’m already thinking about another baby and then having a c section 😨

TeddyBeans · 20/11/2022 10:46

@Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels nice to have you back ❤️ hope you're feeling a bit better now. Congratulations on your little boy! I've updated your heart on my list, will post it again soon 😘

Woohoo thread 5 already. Thanks for setting up a new one! ❤

Room4onemore · 20/11/2022 15:32

Omg god just fell at the bottom of the stairs, think I broke my toe and I’ve bashed my knee, it’s already bruising. Just waiting for little lady to make some movements so I don’t have to panic about her as well

has anybody else not even contemplated baby names yet? Lol

iratepirate · 20/11/2022 15:40

Oh no @Room4onemore, I hope you’re okay!

We’ve got a name for a boy decided, but no idea on girl’s names.

Hrf1503 · 20/11/2022 16:02

Hey everyone! Thanks for the new thread @TeddyBeans

Has anyone else been suffering with sciatica? Physio gave me some exercises but they aren’t helping, I can barely walk and I’m near tears the whole time. I’ve heard acupuncture can help… any recommendations would be so appreciated!

Blocklynn · 20/11/2022 16:10

Has anyone had a cotbed from Argos? I was looking at one from there but husband is a bit put off without being able to see it first.
He’s all for one we saw at Mamas and Papas today which is more than double the price 🙈

TeddyBeans · 20/11/2022 17:06

@Room4onemore 😱😱 are you okay!? Have you felt little one yet?

@Blocklynn I've not but I find Argos are pretty good at returns. I'd get it and have a look at it at home then return it if you're not happy. They're usually pretty good quality. IKEA is a good alternative, DS had an IKEA cot and it was really sturdy. I've got a mamas and papas one this time because we need a small cot - this one's 100x50cm or something daft, it's perfect

For anyone who this is their 2nd or 3rd baby can I ask what your appointments are like.

This is my 3rd baby and midwife led however I haven't had much appointments so I'm confused.

  • last midwife check was 16 weeks.
  • 20 week scan was a sonographer and apart from my scan being incomplete there was no other checks done.
  • next appointment is GTT test at 26 weeks but this is not with a midwife and no midwife check that day either.

So from after 16- 26 weeks no midwife checks? Is this normal, I don't have any booked in midwife checks going forward.

@GreenIsle mine is the same. I’m on 2nd baby and apparently they miss out 24 week appointment if it’s not your first so next midwife appt is 28 weeks

ToffeeEl · 20/11/2022 17:50

@GreenIsle this is my first and that's the same as my scheduled appointments with midwife. Anything extra has been ad-hoc with them asking me to come in

Room4onemore · 20/11/2022 17:56

i Had midwife at 16 weeks and I have her at 26 weeks I think, but I’m consultant led so I get appointments in between
