Omg, 25+3 and the nesting is ridiculous!
I want to turn my whole house upside down and sort and clean.
Nothing is safe! Why so early? I'm sure it wasn't til about 32 weeks with DD.
Anyone else in full nesting mode?

Sort of, I am looking at my house through very different eyes lately!! Haven't started acting on it yet but mostly because I know it's pointless. Me and DH are both inherently messy so it never lasts 😒

TeddyBeans · 21/11/2022 14:07

DP has told me that if I don't tidy up he's not getting the Christmas decorations down ☹️ so I'm being forced to tidy - nothing close to nesting yet

TeddyBeans · 21/11/2022 14:12

The good thing about tidying is it means I can put more baby bits out. The baby station is ready to roll

@ChristmasJumpers me and DH are also quite messy too. And the toddler doesn't help matters.
I'm not sure how long I'm expecting it to last!
The decluttering feels important though. That'll last! I'm sick of the sight of so many 'things' in my house!! Everything is going on Vinted 😂

Ooooh @TeddyBeans Christmas decs, now there's a good incentive for you 🎄🎅😊

Room4onemore · 21/11/2022 15:35

I need to get a new Christmas tree but I’m going to send my 16 year old up the loft to get the decorations down ready for the weekend. That will mean I’ve got a few days to clear out the living room

Babynum2 · 21/11/2022 15:43

I gutted my housed few weeks ago for Christmas. I've woken up today and can barely walk I got pain in my legs bum and lower back 😥

Blocklynn · 21/11/2022 15:44

Does everyone have a diabetes test? I’ve got my midwife appointment at 25 weeks booked (currently 22+3) but diabetes wasn’t mentioned.

@LittleAcorn20 I don’t know about nesting but I’m crazy on finishing off all the house decorating that we had planned and getting the baby room ready!

TeddyBeans · 21/11/2022 15:51

@Blocklynn I thought everyone did around 28 weeks but I think I remember we had a little discussion a thread or so ago about not everyone getting one

OP posts:
Room4onemore · 21/11/2022 15:55

Not everyone has one

havanamama · 21/11/2022 16:05

I have the GD test in December.

Nesting - not nesring yet as we still need
to finish the Baby shopping or get stuff delivered.

My main priority now is getting educated as much as I can before, go through my pre baby to do list.

Franklin321 · 21/11/2022 16:05

No you only have a diabetes check if you have certain risk factors, bmi, family history etc

LizziBee · 21/11/2022 16:09

Franklin321 · 21/11/2022 11:48

@91mana ive just had my diabetes test. No food and only water from midnight before, blood test, drink a glucose drink, sit for 2 hours in the waiting room and then another blood test and free to go!

Oh god do you have to stay at the Dr's for the two hours?! I presumed I could go home!

Franklin321 · 21/11/2022 16:11

@LizziBee yeh I think so, they don’t like you to move around too much as it can affect the results! I watched some Netflix and wrote some emails 😂

Perexi · 21/11/2022 16:20

I tested positive for covid today, annoying as I delayed getting my booster till last week but it is what it is. My partner is enroute to the hospital for 10 day's of blood thinning injections which I wasn't expecting to need but the midwife team have been super quick at responding and very helpful. Just thought I'd mention as I wasn't sure if I should bother them but turns out you absolutely should do!

LizziBee · 21/11/2022 16:21

Nightmare!

LizziBee · 21/11/2022 16:23

LizziBee · 21/11/2022 16:21

Nightmare!

Sorry @Franklin321 this was a response to you!

beatingheartbaby · 21/11/2022 18:16

I have my glucose test at 26 weeks but only because my dad has diabetes and my sister had gestational diabetes. It's a real pain because all my normal midwife appointments are at the hospital round the corner from me, but for some reason this one is at the main maternity hospital 20 mins drive away.

Bobduncan · 21/11/2022 18:18

I've signed upto the positive birthing companies hypnobirthing course. I don't think I'll identify with a lot of it, but I'm hoping the biology side and breathing techniques will help! Has anyone else previously completed this course for their previous DCs?

LittleAcorn20 · 21/11/2022 18:25

@Bobduncan I did that online course before DD. Agreed it is great for understanding the biology/physiology of labour.
And for teaching tricks and little cues for breathing techniques.
Honestly in established labour all of this went out of the window, but I spent my early labour alone on antenatal ward (covid times) and the breathing techniques helped me stay calm (managed anxiety/nerves more than helping manage pain for me) if that makes sense.
Some of it can seem/be perceived as a bit wishy washy but I don't think it does any harm to try and think about the ways our mind can help us cope with labour. Our minds are so powerful, a bit of training and understanding how to manage it can only be a good thing 😊
Still had pain relief alongside the hypnobirthing it doesn't claim to and shouldn't claim to be a replacement (though some people see it that way, fair enough)

Bobduncan · 21/11/2022 18:30

Thank you @LittleAcorn20 that's really interesting! I'm definitely not one to reject pain relief (bring on the epidural!) 😂

TeddyBeans · 21/11/2022 20:39

My BP's starting to creep up 😭 it was 128/76 tonight. It's usually somewhere between 105/60 - 110/70
