3rd March for me- will be a surprise.

1st baby, but high risk- so having lots of appointments and extra scans.

I saw midwife after 12 & 16 weeks- again at 22, 26, 28 weeks and another scan 28 weeks (low lying placenta at 20 week scan so to have another at 28)

add on top- suspected DVT so am injecting myself with blood thinners until another ultrasound to check if any improvement…

any advice or insight from anyone with DVT? would love to hear from you

GreenIsle · 20/11/2022 18:08

Thank you for your reply's that's a relief so should expect to have one soon then. I'll mention at my GTT appointment because there is always midwife's around.

Bobduncan · 20/11/2022 18:14

Has anyone noticed their babies seem to be more active at certain points in the day or night? My little one loves a good kicking session at about 9:30pm each evening- it's such a lovely feeling 😊

Room4onemore · 20/11/2022 18:16

@TeddyBeans I’m not sure I’ve felt movement yet but I’ve been sorting the kids out so I will sit down and have something cold in a bit and see if I can get her moving

firstlittleone · 20/11/2022 18:43

Place marking :)

TeddyBeans · 20/11/2022 18:56

I had a midwife appointment at 24 weeks (supposed to be 25) 2nd baby.

@Bobduncan tinys very active in the evening. She tells me off if I'm not in the bath by a certain time. She loves a bath, always gets very wriggly so either way I get plenty of movements in the evening.

@Room4onemore do get yourself checked out if you don't feel anything soon ❤️

Hope you're ok @Room4onemore !!

@GreenIsle this is baby no. 3 and I didn't have a 16 week midwife appt...but did see the consultant and then I have the midwife next week at 24 weeks

Franklin321 · 20/11/2022 19:34

2nd baby, 16 week midwife, GTT tomorrow at 24 weeks then midwife and consultant at 28 weeks! So a big gap for me between midwife appointments!

2019Mama · 20/11/2022 20:09

Placemarking x

TeddyBeans · 20/11/2022 21:13

It's interesting seeing how different the care is between areas! I though GTTs were universally at 28 weeks but quite obviously not

Thanks for the new thread @TeddyBeans

We caught up with my partner's family today and when everyone arrived some of them went straight to touch my belly/bump after we hugged?! This is my first but surely this isn't expected behaviour? I was a bit like woah personal space 🤣🫤

TeddyBeans · 20/11/2022 21:36

@Perexi my mum touched my bump for the first time on Friday evening when I put her hand there to see if she could feel tiny. Noone has ever touched my bump without either consent or me instigating - not even DP! It would really weird me out if people just started touching me and I'm a very tactile person

That's what I thought! My partner does it sometimes but that's way different, my mum doesn't do it I just found it a bit woah yes that's my stomach! just wondered if I was being a bit precious!

TeddyBeans · 20/11/2022 22:05

They're still touching you at the end of the day. You're not being precious at all imo

ChristmasJumpers · 20/11/2022 22:33

@Perexi my uncles wife touched my belly at about 14 weeks and announced loudly that I had a little bump (it was bloat). After that I've been very vocal in not wanting people to touch my bump unless invited. My mum has tried the "but I made you, I can touch your belly!" line but I know she won't actually try it now unless I say so.

I don't think I mind so much if there are kicks for people to feel but for now it's just my belly - bit weird to touch it really!

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 21/11/2022 09:37

Thanks for the new thread @TeddyBeans 💞

@Perexi I don't mind people i'm close to touching my bump but i ran into someone i worked with about 6 years ago the other day, she made a straight beeline for my belly! Definitely made me uncomfortable and took me by surprise so i didn't really know what to say!

iratepirate · 21/11/2022 09:48

Nobody has touched my bump. I don’t think I’d feel comfortable with that at all. I can’t stand being touched as a general rule.

91mana · 21/11/2022 10:16

My due date is 9.3.2023, 24 weeks + 2 days

My next appointment with the midwife will be in the 25th week of pregnancy, and a week after is my diabetes test. Has anyone done it already? What does the procedure look like?

havanamama · 21/11/2022 11:40

my Mum and husband have touched my husband but I don’t have any issue with them.

I do dislike just random comments from other people like “oh your bump/baby has grown!!” - yeah and what?!🧐

Franklin321 · 21/11/2022 11:48

@91mana ive just had my diabetes test. No food and only water from midnight before, blood test, drink a glucose drink, sit for 2 hours in the waiting room and then another blood test and free to go!

91mana · 21/11/2022 11:55

@Franklin321 thank you 😃

Room4onemore · 21/11/2022 12:42

Double check the instructions for the GTT, you can’t eat after 10pm at mine

Dreamingof3 · 21/11/2022 12:44

Mine was from 9pm...I think it will depend on your appt time? I am lucky I've always been in first thing (8ish) but definitely saw others with appts not til nearer 10!

havanamama · 21/11/2022 12:50

Lol I read back what I wrote 😂😂 my mum and husband have touched my belly!! Haha

LittleAcorn20 · 21/11/2022 13:06

Omg, 25+3 and the nesting is ridiculous!
I want to turn my whole house upside down and sort and clean.
Nothing is safe! Why so early? I'm sure it wasn't til about 32 weeks with DD.
Anyone else in full nesting mode?
