Pregant after miscarriage - support thread

Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@tulipsunday I usually love a pasta bake but I just cannot decide what I want at all, I've not eaten much today cos I'm just not fancying anything tbh! 🙈

@suz2285 @tulipsunday I've been feeling fine all day apart from the headache, and now my belly is feeling icky and I feel sick! Dinner is cooking though! Honestly don't remember feeling like this in my first pregnancy, but then I didn't have a child already then 🤷‍♀️🤔

@suz2285 I was really dark when I was born and my partners really blonde so feel like it’s gonna go one way or the other🤣🤣 no we’re having a surprise 🥰

@tulipsunday ahh i know! Finally feel like I’m getting there 🤣

@ChloeN I'm ginger and my partner was blonde when he was born but our daughter came out dark 😂 and then it gradually got lighter! Xxx

Aw. My little boy was dark as a newborn then it fell out and grew back light blonde which has stuck. @Brokenpancreas94 definitely found this pregnancy harder than my son's hopefully you will start to feel a bit better I did from 10 weeks xx

@tulipsunday hopefully I start to feel better then, although when I do feel better I will be paranoid something is wrong...can't win!

Does anyone else have their dinner and then feel exhausted/drained pretty much straight away 🤷‍♀️

Every night @Brokenpancreas94 I try and stay up for an hour to spend time with my husband otherwise we don't really see each other but all the time I'm thinking I'm just ready for bed 😂

Glad I'm not alone then @tulipsunday 😂 I usually go to bed around 11 or just after but I'm struggling to make it to 10! 😂

Ah yeh 10 is my limit 😂 my sister who is pregnant text and said after feeling nauseous for weeks she has had a Chinese take away and feels the best she has had in so long! May have to try one lol

@tulipsunday @Brokenpancreas94 I mean 9.30 is my normal bedtime but some nights I don't make it till 8.30 😂😂

Just did my Asda shop and god it's hard to decide what to eat! And fruit is so blooming expensive which is basically all I want, kinda off most veg which is weird

We went to the beach today...have a sunburnt knee 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ typically the one place I didn't put suncream on like an idiot!

@suz2285 it's hard isn't it!! I don't know what I fancy eating anymore either but I want to eat if that makes any sense? 😂

@Brokenpancreas94 haha sorry about your knee! I had to put sun cream on to cut the grass, then went swimming and it'll all be washed off not but haven't been outside much since then!

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, I'm hungry but nothing sounds good, constantly! 😂 I was so excited about breakfast this morning as I was starving but I took a few bites then felt full, I struggled through it though hahah

I made Shepherd's Pie for dinner but having gone off meat I swapped lamb mince for lentils and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Have been my usual exhausted self all day but felt so much better having a big dinner I enjoyed. Also my boobs have randomly started hurting again and they haven't hurt since about week 6!

@suz2285 it's so sore haha, I'll make sure I cover myself head to toe next time 😂😂

@WhiteHorse92 mine hurt every now and then mainly when I take my bra off 😂

I'm working my second job today running a bar. Still got at least another hour on shift. Send help! I'm falling asleep standing up, keep forgetting what people are ordering or what I'm in the middle of doing 🥱🤣

Oh @moosey89 that sounds tough hope the next hour goes quickly and you can go home and chill.

Was doing okay today but now feel sick and IBS is kicking in again, think it may have been the doctor pepper I had to treat my hypo 😫

@Brokenpancreas94 thank you - thankfully it was a quiet night and I got to lock up an hour early. Lucky really as I was forgetting everything people ordered! Nightmare really when you're serving people.

@Brokenpancreas94 I've been feeling sick again tonight too, I had to take a tablet for the first time in ages so I could try and eat some dinner! Feeling very emotional as well, so that's fun...

@moosey89 nightmare! I've kinda lost a bit of motivation for work now my busy time is mostly over I dunno if I'm just exhausted or what but I've got loads needing done between now and Christmas so I need to find some 😂

@suz2285 haha yeah - only good thing is that it gets me out of the house! My main job is 100% work from home because I work for a US company from the UK, so way too much time to overthink on my own 😂

I'm in a wierd place at the moment where I'm starting to feel excited about the possibility of a pregnancy working, but being so scared that it won't. Every twinge sends me off worrying though. Scan on Thursday, which will be step 1 of believing it might happen. Right now I find it hard to even believe I'm pregnant, even with the tiredness.

@suz2285 it's been horribly hot and humid today too that's not helping either! Still feeling sicky as well! Just want cold drinks and ice pops really I think 🥲

@moosey89 I don't massively enjoy wfh either I find it lonely and too much time to think, I need to keep myself busy with walks/workouts between work but I haven't been doing as much of that cos 'first trimester' etc etc 😂 have you had no scans up till now? Hope you feel better after Thursday!

@Brokenpancreas94 sorry you're feeling so sicky, is the cyclizine doing anything? I'm def with you on the cold drinks I bought an ice maker/holder thing for the freezer and some ice lollies too, I just want everything to be super cold! Though we seem to be due heat/rain now on and off for weeks, which is not ideal

Also I think this thread caps at 1000 posts which we're about to hit we might have to make a new one

@suz2285 yeah I've not been able to do as many workouts or walks as usual! I usually workout 6 times a week and I'm down to 2 maybe 3.

I've not had any scans as yet - didn't want to go in that grey period where you might not see what you think because it's a bit early as that would make me panic. I had a nightmare last night that it was a missed miscarriage again 😥 so praying that isn't the case!
