Pregant after miscarriage - support thread

Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

Great news @WitcheryDivine was that your 12 weeks scan? If so then that's such a good milestone, I know what you mean though it never feels safe!!

Hope everyone well. Took a cheeky day off today. So rare for me to have a whole day with no work or child but was really needed. Hoping it will help me get through the next few days of parenting whilst managing tiredness etc

10 weeks today and boy am I tired! 😴😴 feel like I've hardly slept when in reality last night was an actual decent night sleep...I think! The night before I was up twice with low blood sugar...maybe it's just catching up with me!

Double figures woop woop @Brokenpancreas94 Every morning I wake early don't know if it is the heat the sound of the birds or pregnancy 😂 probs a combination!

Ah I know what you mean! I've got a terrible headache today now as well 😩

@tulipsunday @Brokenpancreas94 I'm the same today; after a super busy week at work I am wiped today, woke up at 5am with a headache, got some tablets and juice and went back to sleep, then had a nap at lunch time and basically not moved off the sofa all day... thank goodness that was my last super busy day this year 😂

I'm feeling very meh about food today, and the last few days it's so hard when you don't want to eat anything but also are hungry! I need to do a food shop but I'm so exhausted and I've no idea what to buy! So weird

@suz2285 @tulipsunday I've bought myself some chocolate today I just want today to be over tbh, arguing with my partner...possibly my fault and hormones but meh 🤷‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️xx

@Brokenpancreas94 oh no! It's hard isn't it! I've been so tired this week I've hardly seen the husband, he'll be home soon and I'm so unmotivated, don't know what's for dinner and just very meh 🙈

@suz2285 he's got the hump as well because he's trying to put up shelves and it's going wrong 🤷‍♀️
I'm doing jacket potato today, usually fills me up a fair bit just hope it doesn't trigger my IBS!! Xx

@Brokenpancreas94 oh dear 😂 house jobs are always the worst for grumpy partners!! It's never as easy as you think! Bit like my changing the car light last weekend! Nightmare!

I had a few weeks of loving the potatoes but now I'm back to no idea what I want again! Tbh I want Nando's right now but there's zero food in this house and I've just had no motivation to go to the shop tbh! I'm also getting hungry now so I need to find something, husband isn't home yet either....

@suz2285 the other day my friend sent me a reel with Lucky Charms (that American cereal with little marshmallow bits in) and now I can't think of anything else I want to eat but that. It's killing me 😂

@suz2285 I've not had jacket potato since being pregnant so who knows what will happen😂 when does your husband get home?

@moosey89 I've never tried lucky charms! Are they nice? Well they must be if you're craving them 😂

Hope you girls have all been getting on okay! I had a growth scan yesterday because my bumps measuring small, all okay though and they said they can see the babies got hair 🥹🥹 I don’t know why I just found that information so exciting🤣

@moosey89 sometimes b&m have lucky charms! They have an American sweetie section!

We had them lots as kids, I don't know if you still get any versions here though I know we don't get the American versions cos they're full of sugar and colourings hahah!

@Brokenpancreas94 yes definitely🥹🥹 I’d love for them to tell me what colour it is too so I’d know if they’re taking after me or their dad 🤣🤣

@suz2285 so know what you mean about not knowing what you fancy. I have had pasta bake for two days going to see if can stomach a stir fry later

@ChloeN that's so exciting! Not long to go at all! I think their hair and eyes often change colour once they're born anyway, I think? 😂
