Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

First day back at work today after 2 weeks off and I'm bloody exhausted. I've been exhausted since about 11am to be fair, I was tempted to use up some annual leave to go home early but I persevered. Told my manager about the pregnancy and just said I feel exhausted and sick and that I needed extra breaks. I managed some grapes on my morning break but then felt too full to eat my chocolate bar, had that on my lunch and somehow managed to eat my bowl of pasta even though the thought of it made me sick when I took it out the fridge. Managed Stir fry and noodles for dinner but had to take the chicken out, almost burst into tears at the dinner table because not being able to eat properly or enjoy food and have proper portions is just making me emotional. I remember bursting into tears at a similar point when I was pregnant with my son just because I wanted to be able to eat and trying to remember what it's like to eat normally and not feel tired all the time 😭

tulipsunday · 14/06/2023 20:23

@WhiteHorse92 can really relate. Just nearly had a little cry as threw up my dinner. First time have done this - went to put my plate in the dishwasher and there was this awful chemical mixed with food smell that just set me off. Didn't help that my son was being an absolute pain at bedtime which had set me on edge and didn't help how I was feeling. Ah well - hopefully we can feel better soon and resume some normality.

Brokenpancreas94 · 14/06/2023 20:42

@tulipsunday ahh hope you feel better soon! Think it's this heat that isn't helping either!

tulipsunday · 14/06/2023 20:50

Thank you @Brokenpancreas94 very true ☀️ Just seen your update what a long old day for you. Glad things were generally looking ok and good to get your scan booked in 😊

Brokenpancreas94 · 14/06/2023 21:25

@tulipsunday thank you, the team were lovely too, which was good. Already asked me about delivery method, was a bit overwhelmed thinking about that! 😬hoping all goes well, need to try and relax!

Brokenpancreas94 · 15/06/2023 09:12

Well i can't move my neck this morning, woke up had a stretch and then felt a pain in my neck 😩now it's a bit sore!

suz2285 · 15/06/2023 11:10

@Brokenpancreas94 getting old! 😂 hope you're ok, it's painful when you pull things in your neck and back!

I had a little panic last night, scan on friday and i feel like i'm just not feeling as bad as i was so i'm worried. This morning I did feel that weird tummy feeling, it's not nausea but it's not feeling the best and needing to eat something, so hopefully all is ok, think i just need this scan now so i know! Work is really busy today and probably until next week so that's at least keeping me occupied!

Brokenpancreas94 · 15/06/2023 15:32

@suz2285 I really am 😂😂

Ah yeah it's so scary! I'm so hungry today and that's making me think somethings wrong because I don't feel sick, but it's probably just the cyclizine and omeprazole working!

Good luck with your scan tomorrow xx

tulipsunday · 15/06/2023 18:15

Good luck for your scan @suz2285 how's your neck? @Brokenpancreas94 Also feeling generally less sick though still have moments (like last night 😂)

Bit of a crap day here as my husband's van was broken into. Such a hassle as he needs it for work and stuff was taken x

Brokenpancreas94 · 15/06/2023 18:20

@tulipsunday still sore 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ can't really turn it I look stupid 😂😂 my nausea is starting back up again so taken another cyclizine.

Oh no, sorry to hear about your husband's van! Some people are just so heartless, my dad was broken into the other week and they didn't even know they'd been broken in until my step mum got a notification from her bank saying she had withdrawn money from an atm but she was laying in bed!!

Calcium & Vitamin D supplements, are they okay for us to take? Xx

ChloeN · 15/06/2023 19:51

@Brokenpancreas94 no idea about calcium but I took vitamin D xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 15/06/2023 19:54

@ChloeN yeah I was looking for some vitamin d today but it was a combined Calcium and Vit D although the consultant yesterday said I probably won't need any Vit D because of how sunny it is xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 15/06/2023 21:38

I'm 8+5 today, which is when my last pregnancy stopped growing, so nervous 😞
Only 20 days to go 😕

suz2285 · 16/06/2023 04:47

@Brokenpancreas94 I'm taking calcium with vit d, midwife said it was fine, they do say everyone needs vit d as we're mostly all deficient and they do recommend it most places but they'll never likely test it so 🤷‍♀️

I'm so nervous too, got my scan tonight

I say tonight it's 5am almost, didn't get home until 11pm from a concert and then we've been woken up by some major incident happening on the street next to us! Looks like a fire or some sort of contamination, police, fire and ambulance blocked off the street so I sat and watched that for 30 mins still none the wiser as to what is actually going on tbh! 😂😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/06/2023 07:52

@suz2285 Holland and Barrett was wrong then...she was like nope pregnant women defo can't take that 🙄

Good luck with your scan!

Ooo what concert did you go to??

suz2285 · 16/06/2023 09:10

@Brokenpancreas94 unless there was something else in it? No idea! But a quick google suggests ok 🤷‍♀️ I honestly never thought about it, you get calcium and vitamin d in a diet anyway so why would it not be ok? It's all so confusing 😂

It was Elton John! He was meant to play in 2020 but it was postponed and everyone had paid £££ for tickets and waited 3 years, my pals friend hurt her back 2 hours before and I got a last min txt just as I was about to leave work asking if I wanted to go for free so I just went straight from work 😂😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/06/2023 09:23

@suz2285 I've no idea 😂she tried directing me towards the pregnancy stuff I was just like no I've already got some...

Ooo that sounds fun! Was it a good night! Not good about your friend though!

tulipsunday · 16/06/2023 12:50

@suz2285 amazing was the concert good? Hope scan goes well today.

@Brokenpancreas94 that's awful about the burglary hope they got the cash back. Had to take my husband to work today need to remember to get him later 😂

Always strange getting to the point a pregnancy ended but good when you get past it 😊

suz2285 · 16/06/2023 13:10

@tulipsunday concert was good even more so as it was unexpected and free 😂 will update re scan later 🤞🤞

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/06/2023 14:33

@tulipsunday I think so because there was cctv of them taking out the cash...that'll teach her for keeping her pins in her bag with the cards 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hoping it's all okay 😬 blood sugars are a bit all over the place so that's making me nervous

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/06/2023 17:45

Just had some jelly like discharge with a slight tinge of pink 😩

tulipsunday · 16/06/2023 18:22

@Brokenpancreas94 aw perhaps your hyper aware at the moment as around the time your last pregnancy ended. I know I was like that around then. If only a slight tinge of pink hopefully it is nothing x

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/06/2023 18:43

@tulipsunday hopefully not, just so paranoid 🤦🏼‍♀️

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/06/2023 20:16

Sorry if tmi but just had this...no pain though! Wondering if it's the bleed that was beside the sac

suz2285 · 16/06/2023 20:24

@Brokenpancreas94 looks like really old blood, hopefully totally fine and a tiny bit 🤞

My scan went great, healthy baby, good heart rate, was wiggling about and waving it's hands! Pictures we got are rubbish quality, I don't think they push hard enough to get a good clear image 😂
