@mrshodgy21 i have no advice but I feel your pain, I’ve been in “early labour” since the 27th September, multiple admissions & nothing. 6/7 hour bouts of contractions 3 minutes apart lasting 50-60 seconds that then just stop. Loving they this has been life for 3 weeks 😅😅

mrshodgy21 · 16/10/2022 15:27

@speake1 it's absolutely awful how far are you?
I had this 2 weeks ago then again Friday it's absolutely draining last time I spoke to the doctor I asked him what his views on castor oil was and he said no harm in trying so I did just that Friday and all it done was give me hours of contractions then stop
I explained to him just how I was feeling after the 3 losses last year and about been induced he said it's to early for that but was ok with me trying castor oil
We just want our boy here safe and the way I felt at the beginning of pregnancy is all back again!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ x

mrshodgy21 · 16/10/2022 15:28

@speake1 my contractions have been every 2-3 mins last 45-50 seconds aswell 🤦🏽‍♀️

speake1 · 16/10/2022 15:32

@mrshodgy21 its so frustrating, hopefully you won’t have too much longer to wait. Have you tried expressing colostrum, that’s supposed to help? Also clary sage in the bath, maybe miles circuit & lots of walking? I’m 39 weeks, c section was booked for tomorrow but has been cancelled so waiting to hear now when it is. Hopefully we’ll both have babies by the end of the week 🤞🏼🙏🏼

mrshodgy21 · 16/10/2022 15:36

@speake1 oooo no that's gutting for you for it to be cancelled I would be fuming! I'm 39 weeks tomorrow
Think cause I had all my babies early I was set for this one to be early glad I'm not the only one that has been through all these contractions then nothing!
I've tried everything my husband is tired of me jumping on him now 🤣 x

barneymcgroo · 16/10/2022 16:01

@mrshodgy21 @speake1 how frustrating! No ideas here - a big sneeze set mine off! Sending lots of good wishes, and calming thoughts, and hope you get some action on the baby front soon!

OP posts:
mrshodgy21 · 16/10/2022 16:04

@speake1 I hope so to and fingers crossed you get your c section soon aswell xx

Cruz86 · 16/10/2022 16:05

Try and stay as relaxed as possible @mrshodgy21! Do things that make you laugh/happy. Walk sideways up and down the stairs. Clary sage oil in the bath. Just keep the positive vibes 🙌🏻 Not long now hopefully x

mrshodgy21 · 16/10/2022 16:05

@barneymcgroo sorry didn't even see that was your reply thank you and hopefully not to much longer to wait! X

speake1 · 16/10/2022 16:29

@barneymcgroo thank you, hope you’re having a great first couple of weeks with your little girl 💕

Annny27 · 16/10/2022 16:52

@speake1 @mrshodgy21 fingers crossed you both get something consistent soon! Must be exhausting :(

I am 38+2 and not even a whiff of a braxton hick never mind a contraction - being induced at 39+3 I think but would like it to happen naturally. I might get the pepper out and see if a big sneeze helps @barneymcgroo hahah

barneymcgroo · 16/10/2022 18:16

@Annny27 I'd been having mega braxton hicks for weeks, but they didn't hurt at all. The one after the sneeze was like mild period pains - had a frantic packing/car seat session, and lucky we did! Our little girl is fab. Just dealing with massive boob engorgement at the moment - should calm down soon, as it feels like I'm water boarding her at every feed...

Can't wait to hear about all your babies!

@speake1 @mrshodgy21 oh how annoying!! Rest, relax, hydrate and eat well as much as you can is my advise and also to ignore the contractions for as long as possible. Deep squats too. X10 dates a day, clary sage when contractions start if you are low risk, raspberry tea... but at the end these babies decide! Keeping fingers crossed for you it doesn't take much longer. @Annny27 hope your labour starts spontaneously before the IOL.

Thanks @Annny27 I seem to be having a bit of pregnancy induced hypertension now so even though after a couple of readings my BP settles I know in labour may be more difficult to avoid that and in a home birth it would mean transfer... so I am meeting constant tomorrow to request an elective section, I guess booked for 39w - in 4 weeks time!

calimc83 · 17/10/2022 19:07

Hey hope u are all doing ok? Sounds like it's not long till some of these babies are due! Exciting 🥰. I had my first consultant appointment today. Was just to discuss the birth - they never tell u what's best though?! It's so frustrating..so I've had 2 3rd degree tears and debating whether a c sec will be the way forward this time..I'm just apprehensive of going through a big operation 🙈😬. Oh and my blood pressure was high as well..ffs! Not great. I'm to go to the midwife on Mon to see if it's come down. I'm not sure if the anxiety of the appt set me off or the fact she did a last minute scan as the equipment was there 😫 xx

mrshodgy21 · 17/10/2022 19:21

Soooooo our little man arrived this morning kian weighed 7.7 at 3:53am contractions started at 11pm and my god they were coming thick and fast! X

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 17/10/2022 19:22

Congratulations @mrshodgy21 - lovely name!

speake1 · 17/10/2022 19:25

@mrshodgy21 congratulations 🥰 xx

Annny27 · 17/10/2022 19:27

Wow another fast labour @mrshodgy21 congratulations:)

@Arwen7 ahh sorry your blood pressure is giving you some hassle but it's good you have thought about your options and can speak to the consultant about csection 🤞🏻

barneymcgroo · 17/10/2022 19:37

@mrshodgy21 Ooooooh how amazing! How absolutely wonderful! Hope you're feeling okay, recovering well and enjoying cuddles with your little man!

Cruz86 · 17/10/2022 19:41

Oh wow!! Congratulations @mrshodgy21, what a fast labour! Hope you're both doing okay. Time for lots of newborn cuddles 🥰 Did it just start with contractions? X

Skl2021 · 17/10/2022 19:46

@calimc83 what's making u want a section? The tears? This time I had a 2nd degree tear and stiches. It's the First time I have had stiches or a tear. Haven't found it as bad as I thought I would. The thought of a section also scared me 🙈 never had an operation or been in hospital other than for birth! Hope your blood pressure comes down by your next appointment 🤞 hopefully like u say it was just anxiety. X

@mrshodgy21 huge congratulations 🎉💞 xx

Srx1 · 17/10/2022 19:50

@mrshodgy21 Congratulations 🥳🥳

Shefliesonherownwings · 17/10/2022 20:05

Congratulations @mrshodgy21, that is very fast but at least it’s over quickly.

Im off to the early pregnancy unit tomorrow morning for a scan. I’m 9 weeks so
hoping everything is still all ok. I have to go on my own as DH can’t get the time off work so I’m feeling pretty nervous. Fingers crossed.

mrshodgy21 · 17/10/2022 20:29

@Cruz86 well when I spoke to the doctor about his views on castor oil he said it wouldn't hurt so thought sod it went sleep getting few pains but thought was false labour again woke about 11 with such agonising pains ans it went from there lol
I no people have the views on castor oil but I'd had enough and the doctor weren't to bothered about me trying it lol x

flowergarden16 · 17/10/2022 20:50

Huge congrats @mrshodgy21 !!
