Thank you!

Mrs173 · 02/10/2022 09:56

Thanks for bringing me over @barneymcgroo 😊

barneymcgroo · 02/10/2022 10:02

Tried to link to it from the old one, but ran out of space, so hope you all find it.

39 weeks today - eek! Lots of braxton hicks, but not feeling too too tired. Had quite a busy weekend, so will see how it hits me tomorrow...

Bags packed, spare tens machine batteries in too, just making a crumble for lunch. 😋

Thanks for the new thread @barneymcgroo!

You’re getting close now! How exciting! Is this your first baby?

barneymcgroo · 02/10/2022 10:42

@B1993 3rd baby - and definitely the last! I'm still quite 'neat' (fundal height off the chart small, baby measuring fine - I'm tall...) so not feeling too too heavy or anything. Birth with DS2 was during lockdown, but was as good as I could have really hoped for, so hoping for similar this time. We shall see!

Srx1 · 02/10/2022 10:42

Thanks @barneymcgroo ! Oh wow so close for you!

I'm 34+3, feeling ok, was a bit tired last week due to getting up 4 times for the toilet . Can't believe how fast these weeks are flying, I still have lots of reading and mental preparation to do 🙈

Cruz86 · 02/10/2022 10:55

@sunnyd67 I'm 35+2 and also get really bad upper back pain. I'm wondering whether it's related to heartburn/indigestion? But the only thing that helps is laying flat on my back so doesn't make sense 😂

@barneymcgroo I can't believe you're 39 weeks! How exciting 😀

I found out this week that I've got anaemia so that explains why I'm so bloody tired all the time! And I've got my 36 week scan tomorrow so looking forward to that.

Hope everyone's okay!

X

Annny27 · 02/10/2022 11:54

@barneymcgroo thanks for setting up :D oh wow 39 weeks!!! Are you braxton hicks painful or just tightening? My bump sometimes tightens but doesnt hurt atall so wondering whether its BHs or not. What gestation did your other children arrive?

@Cruz86 I am anemic too and was feeling very tired and faint! But better now inhave been taking some iron tablets but now I have the constipation from those haha!

barneymcgroo · 02/10/2022 14:07

@arwen7 Missed you off!

Arwen7 · 02/10/2022 15:52

Thanks for setting this up @barneymcgroo! I can't believe you are 39 weeks already, next baby in the thread? Did you say you have an elective and do you have a date? Sorry if I'm getting confused ❤️

@Skl2021 I hope you are all doing well thinking of you x

@Srx1 @Cruz86 I'm also dealing with lots of night trips to the loo so feeling tired and middle back pain! I think it's all getting heavy now and being able to only sleep in two positions doesn't help.

I am not enjoying life at the moment! MIL and DPs sister have come to stay for 2 months which means they will be around for birth and first few weeks. They are lovely but MIL is old and can't do much, sister helps but also wants to go out to meet friends etc and I do stress out as I feel I have guests to look after and also I am very particular about my stuff and keeping the house clean 🙈. They say they have come to help and I am sure it would be helpful to other people to have family around but it's driving me crazy!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 02/10/2022 15:54

Thanks @barneymcgroo ! I've been relatively quiet as so much earlier on than many of you. Just trying to relax, not overthink. Have another scan a week tomorrow to see if this has gotten off the ground (should be 8 weeks at that pt)

sunnyd67 · 02/10/2022 16:02

@barneymcgroo that's amazing you are 39 weeks, so close! 😍
@Cruz86 I have had lower back ache since very early on, and for the last two/three days it has shifted to upper back and this pain is soooo intense! I will take lower back ache every day instead of this, I literally cannot stand longer than 10/15 minutes and I need to lean back on the sofa. I hope it shifts! I also suffer with heartburn.
@Arwen7 oh, I do feel for you, I wouldn't want my own family to stay with me for so long let alone my partner's 😂 a day or two is fine, but then they need to go, personal space is so important, especially at the moment.. I hope it isn't too bad for you!

barneymcgroo · 02/10/2022 16:27

@Arwen7 ohhh that sounds stressful... I think I'd go mad if my in-laws turned up for 2 months!

Not elective - going to try for second VBAC (had one with ds2), so fingers crossed for that. Been for a long walk this afternoon, but other than braxton hicks, nothing doing at the moment. And yes, a lot of night trips to the loo...

@Arwen7 that sounds super stressful, would literally be my worst nightmare with a newborn. I’ve tried to be really firm saying no immediate visitors this time as it’s our first time meeting / bonding with the baby too. Especially when we’ve all been through so much to get here!

@barneymcgroo you’re so close, so exciting!!

Ive been in “early latent labour” since Tuesday, it’s so frustrating. Contractions that get into a rhythm (coming every 6/7 minutes for a few hours) then totally stop dead, only to start again a couple of hours later but they aren’t progressing much in intensity. Been in hospital getting monitored but until I’m in established active labour they won’t bring my c section date forward (currently 37 weeks & it's booked for 39) hoping it’s not another 2 weeks of this as feel like I can’t do anything for fear of the contractions picking up or my waters breaking. It’s making looking after a toddler a bit difficult too 🤦🏻‍♀️

@skl2021 I appreciate you will have your hands full but just wanted to say thinking of you & your little boy, hope you’ve had a positive weekend and all is looking good for getting out of special care tomorrow 🤞🏼

Arwen7 · 02/10/2022 18:15

Thanks ladies I feel better to realise it's just not me thinking like this. I just don't know how it happened, there was some talk about visiting and then sister booked visa and flights and it was too late to think properly but as I appreciate they want to help and I'm sure they will, I'm also sad not to be on our own with our first baby. Not sure how I will survive the next few weeks but have no choice now and better to take it as well as we can.

@barneymcgroo ahh nice. 3rd baby so hopefully quick and easy... any day now!

@speake1 ah that's annoying. If your waters broke and/or your labour became established they will just bring you in for a section straight away. But maybe you would rather wait til your scheduled? Get your bits ready just in case!

barneymcgroo · 02/10/2022 18:42

@speake1 Well maybe you're going to be next then! Hope you're not too uncomfortable - I went into latent labour with DS2, not too painful, thought I'd be there for days. Had him that evening - escalated rather quickly... Hope your bag is packed!

@Arwen7 You're not being unreasonable to feel like that. My in-laws came to stay the day I got out of hospital with DS1. I was completely overwhelmed and bewildered, though I completely understand why they wanted to come (first grandchild). My MiL has since apologised for this - we do get on pretty well, luckily. Hopefully you won't be too overwhelmed, as you actually know what you're doing! Though two months is A LOT - could they go and stay somewhere else for a bit?

Congrats @Skl2021 so happy to hear of the new arrival! So sorry it was traumatic. Sending loads of love xxx

Arwen7 · 02/10/2022 19:00

@barneymcgroo yes I am trying to take it in a good way but I'm actually so stressed about the whole situation. I feel like the MIL now is my responsibility too as she is old and not independent and tbh it's the last thing I need/want. Luckily we have just built a summer house at the back and they are staying there, but even though it's nice and cosy they are most of the time in our house which of course I understand they want to be with us too. They can't go anywhere else as they come from another country 😂 and not used to here. Them coming over for this extended time and 'wanting to help' is a cultural thing too so I don't think it would have worked even if we had said no but if there is a next time I will definitely make sure this does not repeat. It's all a bit overwhelming already, not sure whether to laugh or cry. But they are both lovely and they help by doing the dishes and cooking sometimes so it's not all terrible.

arianasky · 03/10/2022 11:08

@barneymcgroo thank you for the tag, eee so exciting for you now I can't believe how quick that has come around 💕

@speake1 ooh sounds promising hopefully it progresses or they'll bring you section forward

@Arwen7 wow I like my in laws but I don't think I'd cope with them living under my roof for 2 months I can understand why you're stressed! I guess just make the most of the extra company and help 💕

33 weeks now and oh my the heartburn 😭 the last two days I've been vomiting a lot from it not sure if COVID leaving my body is contributing to it aswell. I also had a lot of braxton hicks yesterday but apart from that touch wood I'm not to uncomfortable 🙏🏻 I'm hoping the heartburn clears a little as I'm sick each time I go in a car and DP's grandmothers funeral is 2 weeks Wednesday, I'm so scared I'll vomit in the car or just as we get to church i'm considering asking the GP for anti sickness I can take for that day not sure if that's a bit OTT of me though?

aesgriff · 03/10/2022 17:03

@skl2021 massive congratulations to you 😘 hope you and little one are doing okay xx

so lovely to binge read the last two threads and see how everyone is doing! I’m 37 weeks and just started maternity so I’ve got time again on my hands woohoo xx

barneymcgroo · 03/10/2022 17:31

@aesgriff Sorry, forgot you!

Don’t be silly @barneymcgroo 😘 I’ve been rubbish at staying in touch! How are you? Xx

barneymcgroo · 03/10/2022 18:29

@aesgriff Sooooooo tired today! Found myself falling asleep while reading to my 2yo. Had a big long walk yesterday, so possibly just need to take it easy...
Just been sent to bed for a bit by my husband while he baths the children. And then a quiet evening and early bed, I think...
How are you getting on? Hope you're able to relax for these last few weeks and get all the last bits sorted.

OP posts:
aesgriff · 03/10/2022 19:13

@barneymcgroo you deffo sound like you need an early night!! I’m loving going out for walks but it just feels like I need a constant wee the whole way round 🤭
All okay here, final growth scan on Wednesday and then induction booked for a few weeks times. Starting to feel very real!
Any advice for hospital bag packing? Xx

Srx1 · 03/10/2022 21:24

@Arwen7 oooh I hope you won't be too stressed with your in-laws there for so long, hopefully they help more ( around the house etc) than be in the way..
I'm gonna have my mum over for slightly less than a month(coming from a different country too) but I know that's different and I'll want my mum here for mostly emotional support just before and in the first weeks.

I have no idea if I had braxton hicks 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just occasionally get a bit of an uncomfortable feeling in my lower abdomen, similar to some post period pain but then it stops. I need to finish off the final preparation bits, looking forward to maternity leave starting in few weeks!
