Probably time for a new thread - forgive me if I forget anyone...

@Tofu35 Thank you! She's a gorgeous little bundle!

@mrshodgy21 Soooon!

@calimc83 I had a dream genie, think it was called. Wasn't the best, to be honest. Used it with first pregnancy, just found it comfier without second and third time around. It's long, goes between your knees, and turning over was frankly a nightmare. So not that one!

@RaliaMusca congratulations, will keep fingers crossed for you 💕

@sunnyd67 I would say make sure you are nice and relaxed, start by stroking breasts gently and watch a video for good technique before you start as it will avoid any damage to the nipples and be more efficient. But don't be discouraged if you get very little or even nothing as everyone's hormones are different and for some women the let down doesn't start until after the birth even if leaking before. I think the most important thing to remember is that while colostrum harvesting can be helpful if planning to breastfeed it has no correlation to whether bf will be successful or not - i.e plenty women who haven't even heard about it bf without any issues or the other way around but worth a try if you have the time/motivation.

@calimc83 I got the bbhugme and honestly it's been the best pregnancy buy ever. I can recommend it 100% It is pricey though so I got it discounted from Ebay.

Skl2021 · 12/10/2022 23:31

@Tofu35 thankyou ♥️ hope your doing ok? X

ZoeQ90 · 13/10/2022 05:37

I had an early scan and saw a beautiful little blurry blob, measuring perfectly on target with a lovely strong heartbeat. All looks good and I'm relaxing and getting excited now.

flowergarden16 · 13/10/2022 08:25

Congrats @ZoeQ90

@calimc83 I also found pregnancy pill really uncomfy this time despite my hips being super sore. Midwife said cushion between knees and ankle which has helped

I'm going to try colostrum harvesting in a couple of weeks (currently 34) but I didn't do it last time so no idea what I'm doing! X

Annny27 · 13/10/2022 08:29

@sunnyd67 I have only managed about 0.3ml in total of colostrum and only from one breast! But like @Arwen7 says, plenty of my friends couldn't get any colostrum antenatally and still successfully breastfed :)

@mrshodgy21 not long now!!!

@Arwen7 yep alot of us have "small babies" dont we! P s on my fifths palpable notes it says 'at brim" - what does this mean? Haha

mrshodgy21 · 13/10/2022 08:46

@Annny27 how long for you now x

Annny27 · 13/10/2022 08:56

@mrshodgy21 38 weeks this week and being induced some time on 39th week!

Any more signs or stop/starts for you?

Tofu35 · 13/10/2022 08:57

@Skl2021 I'm 31+5, so in that third trimester achey life now! Our home is quietly being taken over by various baby things- most things are small but lots of them (clothes) but our crib arrived yesterday so the boxes for that are in the dining room. We've asked the in-laws to keep some things in their garage too.

It's definitely looking more carboot sale than "nesting for baby" but hopefully I'll shake that lingering fear of not wanting to jinx things and get organising!

Tofu35 · 13/10/2022 08:58

@ZoeQ90 that's lovely you saw the heartbeat on the scan, delighted for you :)

Skl2021 · 13/10/2022 09:09

@Tofu35 third trimester 🎉 weeks will fly now and soon be baby time! Oh it's gets so uncomfortable 😣 I had enough by about 36 weeks! Aww we had all our boxes stacked in our front room for ages aswell 🤣 we didn't actually get organized until very late when I knew I was being induced 🤦 kept putting it off! Only did it when I literally had too 🙊 xx

mrshodgy21 · 13/10/2022 09:22

@Annny27 I'll be 39 weeks Monday but honestly I feel so uncomfortable last few days my back is killing had enough now lol!
Woke to a few pains last night but again nothing started!
I'm hoping the weekend when the kids go off to there dads x

Annny27 · 13/10/2022 09:45

@mrshodgy21 that would be ideal wouldnt it if you went into labour over the weekend!! Hoping it happens soon for you ad the end is sooooo uncomfortable

@Tofu35 oh gosh yes achey third trimester life haha! Yeah we cleared out a cupboard to put the baby stuff in as it was taking over the house haha

B1993 · 13/10/2022 10:54

I feel like I've got a lot to catch up on!

Just a quick update from me though, after bleeding early on in this pregancy, I've had a scan and everything looks good! Baby measuring 5-6 weeks (I date myself at 6+1 today so hoping that'll be confirmed at 12 weeks). Even though it's so early and baby measured 4.2mm, I saw the heartbeat 💗 I'm over the moon!!

Are there any ramzi theory experts on here that could give me a prediction? (The scan was done abdominally, if that makes a difference?)

Annny27 · 13/10/2022 11:04

@B1993 wonderful :D my guess is boy!

B1993 · 13/10/2022 13:53

@Annny27 Thanknyiu for the guess! My little boy would be happy if he got a brother! 💙

arianasky · 13/10/2022 15:01

Eee some of you are so so close now 🎉 and amazing news to the ladies with good early scans amazing 🌈

I had my 34 week midwife appointment today and I asked about if at the next scan would they look to induce me if he doesn't stay on his centile and she said yes and she also said if she was a gambling lady she'd put a bet on that they will be looking to induce me at 37 weeks 😬 scary to think 🙈 I came back and packed my hospital bags straight away so that's one thing done. I'm just ranting really but thought I'd update

Bridgey8 · 13/10/2022 17:17

Sorry guys been MIA - I don't know where the days go with a baby! Hope everyone is doing ok! Xxx

flowergarden16 · 13/10/2022 20:00

Hope all ok your end @Bridgey8 !

@arianasky eeek that's soon. I think we have same due date. I am having my section either 38 or 39 weeks so think I'll be nearish to you

I feel ready to pop and only 34 weeks

Congrats to everyone here with happy baby news

Skl2021 · 13/10/2022 21:16

@arianasky hopefully baby keeps cooking as long as possible but at least your prepared if you are induced! Not much longer to go ♥️🙌 x
@Bridgey8 how u doing? X

Arwen7 · 13/10/2022 21:51

@Annny27 it means where baby is in relation to the brim of your pelvis which is roughly the start of the pelvis, so below the brim would be engaged above the brim would be not engaged so sort of beginning to engage? Tbh a term older midwives would use as it's a bit loose, these days its more common to see 2/5ths, 3/5ths and so on, same concept but 5/5ths would be not engaged and 1/5th (of baby's presenting part) palpable would be very engaged if that makes sense. Does it feel like baby has dropped a bit? Many times I find it difficult to tell unless baby is well engaged or not engaged at all so what the woman feels has a lot of relevance.

@mrshodgy21 gosh getting really close, how exciting!

@ZoeQ90 fantastic news 💕 also @B1993 although no idea of telling if boy/girl 🥰

@arianasky hope the next scan goes well but if you get the early induction well done on preparing the hospital bag, I want to do it soon too, crazy it feels so close now 😬 @flowergarden16 we 3 share almost the same due date if I'm not mistaken and I feel the same, all of a sudden everything hurts and I am exhausted 😫

I had my growth scan today and she's caught up so very happy about it, no need for more scans at the moment 😌

arianasky · 13/10/2022 22:00

@flowergarden16 I know so crazy! I'm hoping he puts on some weight before next scan so I can keep him cooking a little longer 🙏🏻

@Skl2021 I hope so 🙏🏻

@Arwen7 aww I'm glad it's done It feels a bit of a weight off at least

calimc83 · 14/10/2022 08:37

Thanks for the pillow recommendations ladies! My sis in law recommended the bbhugme as well. But it's £££. Not sure I can bring myself to spend that much on a pillow 😆 xx

Annny27 · 14/10/2022 08:45

@calimc83 I got the queen rose pregnancy pillow from Amazon it was about 40/50 and its lovely :D takes a few days to puff up after arriving though

@Arwen7 ah okay that makes sense. Yeah they feel a little lower in the most recent days so probably making their way down into the pelvis. I am 38 weeks first baby though so was expecting it to happen soon ahha. But as baby is on the small side I guess they have more room than most.

Glad your baby has caught up and it looks like home birth is still likely for you 🥰🥰

mrshodgy21 · 16/10/2022 15:19

Right ladies I need some advice to bring on proper labour after hours of contractions Friday and then stop and this was twice! 😡
Went triage examined me and she could only get finger tip in cervix 🤦🏽‍♀️ I've just about had enough
So glad while she was checking baby I had a contraction and she felt it so at least that midwife knows I weren't lying
We just want our baby boy here safe now and this is 2nd time this has happened and my anxiety is through the roof 😢 x
