I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

My test was lighter at 11DPO in the morning and I panicked but then darker by the evening. Waited until this morning (13DPO) to test again and it's no where near doubled, in fact it's lighter. Just accepting this as a chemical now and waiting for the bleeding to start! Wish you guys all the best with your beans 💕 x

Oh @NalaNana i really hope it’s not the case.

whilst I wish none of us were in this situation, it is comforting to know I’m not alone (hope people understand where I’m coming from with that). I text my manager in a mad panic yesterday saying I thought it was happening again as I didn’t know who to talk to. My mum is no longer with us and I don’t have a best friend to talk to. She probably thought I was mental taking so many tests!

i can see someone darkness in mine from this morning (bottom) but compared to others online it makes me panic. I wish I never knew about line progression and darkness.

@NalaNana I read that progesterone takes 48-72 hours to double. Looking at your 11 and 13DPO AM I definitely see progression! And there's really good progression from 8-11 PM too. I know it's nerve wracking, but I would still be optimistic if I were you 😊

@bubble55 I also think your tests look fine! 👍🏻

HopingForBaby2 · 25/09/2022 12:19

Can I join please? Got my positive this morning at 11dpo. This is my second baby (my partners first), and my first is almost 11 years old so a huge gap!

My symptoms have been period like cramps and lower backache since 6/7dpo, on/off nausea and indigestion.

Going by my last period my estimated due date is 6th June, and my younger sister has also found out she's pregnant with her first and her estimated due date is 5th June! So it's very exciting and I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for a healthy pregnancy journey 🤞🏼🥰

B1993 · 25/09/2022 13:14

@HopingForBaby2 Welcome and congrats! I think our due dates are going to be similar (I can't be exactly sure of mine as I conceived right after a m/c).

B1993 · 25/09/2022 13:17

Naturally I caved and tested after seeing all of your tests 🙈🙈

The picture with blue background is yesterdays at 5pm. The white background is from just now.

I can't remember how long I help for yesterday and didn't keep track today since I wasn't going to test (🤦🏻‍♀️) but I think it looks a bit darker!! That of course could be down to more concentrated urine but I'm really hoping this is a good sign! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@VesperLindt Thank you!
I've woken this morning to no spotting in my liner or when I wipe so I'm praying to the pregnancy gods that the baby is still safe in there!! My last miscarriage was intermittent though and I had brown spotting which stopped for 5 days before starting back up again and then progressing to pink and red blood over the space a few days later.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but also remembered that I took a thrush pessary treatment Thurs night and one of the listed side effects is vaginal bleeding. I'm not sure what the chances are of the bleeding being delayed until 2 days later though, so I might pop into the pharmacy today and see if they might know.

Being in limbo is honestly so hard. I wish I knew either way so I could enjoy these early days or prepare myself for what's to come.

RE dates, mine change from 1st June to 7th June depending if it put the start of my last 'period' (m/c bleed) in or possible conception date, which I believe want until CD21. I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed that I make it that far, but only time will tell now I suppose.

I will be keeping everything crossed for you, I had two days of spotting followed by a bit of brown blood about a week and a half ago, and haven't had any since, fingers crossed, I was convinced I was having another miscarriage but thankfully I've not had any since.

Please keep us updated and wishing you the best!

Hello! Just did a test this morning as I had my suspicions whilst on holiday, feeling bad as I was still having a small glass one wine every other day 😅. This is my second, my son is currently 15 months and my period had just come back in August... Got pregnant a LOT quicker than last time so thought it would be the same... Very excited but nervous!!

Algor1thm · 25/09/2022 16:50

Big congratulations to all the new joiners!

Just wanted to chime in re: line progression to agree that FMU and long holds don't always lead to the darkest lines - top pic is from this morning FMU at 12DPO after an approx. 8 hour hold. Bottom is this afternoon after an approx. 45 min hold having consumed a lot more liquids. You can't compare two tests taken on the same day. There are too many factors at play that are too hard to predict.

Line progression can only really be compared over a 48 hour period. You'd expect the later test of two taken 48 hours apart to be darker, otherwise it may be a cause for concern. But even 24 hours isn't enough time to compare accurately.

Have my fingers crossed for everyone on this thread!

Fingers crossed everyone ❤️ I'm planning on not testing again until Tuesday (haha we'll see!)

NalaNana · 25/09/2022 18:07

Thanks @B1993 @bubble55 @Algor1thm. It's a trying time isn't it?

I've done another test this evening and it's darker but this is just not how we're told that HCG behaves in a viable pregnancy!

These are tests from the morning and evening of 11DPO, and the morning and evening of 13DPO. In both morning tests the line is light, and in both evening tests the line is dark.

Starting to mess with my head a little so I'm just going to call my GP tomorrow to explain - I doubt they'll want to do any bloods but at least that way I can log it x

I just did my second test, it was a pack of 2 and I did the first on Thursday.

Trying to think that I won't buy any more, but we will see 😂

It's so exciting, but so surreal.

I'm going to ring the community midwife team tomorrow, that might make it feel more real.

I'm bursting to tell someone, anyone! This group is my saviour 😊

Hope everyone is feeling okay today. How are people's symptoms?

June 2023 Babies 🌞
Algor1thm · 25/09/2022 18:21

@NalaNana honestly that's completely normal. It doesn't mean your HCG is going up and down, it's just the concentration in your urine!

@miamiibiza at least you get to contact the midwives so early! My local service won't let me make contact until I'm at least 6 weeks. I know it's only 2 more weeks but I can't wait to get the ball rolling!

OP posts:
bubble55 · 25/09/2022 18:48

@NalaNana i can see your difference between 48 hours x

Weefreetiffany · 25/09/2022 18:48

Hi @miamiibiza that’s a really strong line, congrats! I do wonder why some women get worse symptoms than others- I’m super emotional and got a bitter taste in my mouth that sometimes becomes nausea. Got the progesterone hunger too- only way to feel fine is to have just a bit of food in my stomach at all times but this led to major weight gain for my first pregnancy! Don’t really want a repeat this time. How are you feeling? Any symptoms?

also my husband has got a cold and was feeling too tired to do much earlier… should I murder him now or later? Just kidding, the hormones aren’t that bad yet!

Blossomhoney · 25/09/2022 18:58

i’ve been fighting a cold for the past week (I feel like most people seem to have a cold at the moment)
my favourite drink is tea and i have gone right off it.
I also have a weird taste in my mouth.
my boobs look more veiny too.
the last few evenings about 8pm i have felt really sick.
My last pregnancy I was sick for the whole 9 months 😬 hopefully that won’t be the case this time.

how is everyone else doing?

Sneezymcsneezy · 25/09/2022 19:06

@Blossomhoney definitely the morning sickness is kicking in, it was the same last time, literally so early. Excess saliva production... Again and feel so hungover

miamiibiza · 25/09/2022 20:16

@Weefreetiffany I feel okay. Keep prodding my boobs to make sure they still feel slightly tender! And I'm definitely more hungry than usual, but I don't want to fall into the trap of eating lots and then gaining masses of weight. My last pregnancy resulted in about a 4 stone gain, and I really don't want that again 😬

Okapi99 · 25/09/2022 21:20

Ah I've no symptoms at all yet, just feel like I need a wee all the time really

I also have a 15mo and also took so long last time that I was really shocked this time when it happened quickly. I have also been having a small glass of wine before realising, read your post like is this me? 😁 When do you think you will be due?

jjunebug · 25/09/2022 21:31

Oh and I also can't find the Facebook group!
Would love to join one though as my last one from mumsnet has been an absolute godsend and we all still post regularly 2 years later

Hi I found out today I’m also expecting a June 2023 baby if my calculations are correct then 3rd June! Congrats to you all. This is number 2 for me and it was a big shock, wasn’t actively trying still haven’t got my head around it but here I am just going to wing it like the first time round 🙈

Congratulations! How are you feeling symptom wise?

This was our first month TTC and I honestly expected it to take a good few months so was really shocked to have caught on the first month, and feeling really lucky!

Algor1thm · 26/09/2022 07:20

@HopingForBaby2 me too, this is technically a planned pregnancy but all happened so much faster than I was expecting, feels like a surprise!

How are you all feeling? As I’ve had two HG previous pregnancies I’m waiting for the sickness to kick in, I can’t enjoy pregnancy as my anxiety has already started about being poorly 😥 I’m trying my best to stay positive, 4w3d based on my last period and I’ve woken up today feeling totally hungover which is how it all started last time 😭
