I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

Fingers firmly crossed for you @B1993

I am joining the June crew! Also second baby (who will also be 3) had a fairly decent positive at 9dpo and NHS due date calculator gives me a 1st June dd! 🙌🏼
Mildly concerned it’s twins as they run in both mine and DH’s family and a CB test said 2-3 weeks this morning even though I think I’m only a week and two days post implantation 😬

The clearblue dates go off conception not implantation, so 9 days past implantation = 2-3 weeks past ovulation

Veryxonfused · 24/09/2022 23:56

@VesperLindt also congrats we’re due date twins :) and I also got my positive at 9dpo last Saturday!

Blossomhoney · 25/09/2022 05:57

@VesperLindt hi 👋 congratulations I’m also due on 1st June according to the nhs calculator

B1993 · 25/09/2022 06:37

@VesperLindt Thank you!
I've woken this morning to no spotting in my liner or when I wipe so I'm praying to the pregnancy gods that the baby is still safe in there!! My last miscarriage was intermittent though and I had brown spotting which stopped for 5 days before starting back up again and then progressing to pink and red blood over the space a few days later.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but also remembered that I took a thrush pessary treatment Thurs night and one of the listed side effects is vaginal bleeding. I'm not sure what the chances are of the bleeding being delayed until 2 days later though, so I might pop into the pharmacy today and see if they might know.

Being in limbo is honestly so hard. I wish I knew either way so I could enjoy these early days or prepare myself for what's to come.

RE dates, mine change from 1st June to 7th June depending if it put the start of my last 'period' (m/c bleed) in or possible conception date, which I believe want until CD21. I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed that I make it that far, but only time will tell now I suppose.

Blossomhoney · 25/09/2022 07:48

@VesperLindt that’s great you have woken up with no blood, keeping everything crossed for you.
Good idea mentioning to the pharmacy.
I had brown yesterday morning and got myself into such a state.

with dates I’ve just gone by what the online calculator says as this month I decided not use use ovulation tests.
With my other children when I went for my scan I was always a week less than online said.

VesperLindt · 25/09/2022 07:52

PHEW!! Thank you @Veryxonfused thats put my mind at ease re twins 😂 and yay for dd twins!

I hope you continue to have no more bleeding today @B1993 Limbo is so hard, you just have to take each day and hour at a time. Try and book in some activities to take your mind off it or read a good book!

B1993 · 25/09/2022 08:39

Thank you @Blossomhoney and @VesperLindt
I have managed to hold off from testing so far today. If I don't get any more bleeding over the next few days, I'm going to try not to test until Wednesday when I think I'll be 14DPO - I may not have that much willpower though so it could be sooner. So far today, no more spotting though! 🙏

@Blossomhoney I think brown spotting is fairly common in early pregancy so try not to worry! I know that's easier said than done because I was in the exact same position. Sending you lots of good vibes 💜

Totorotoes · 25/09/2022 08:40

Hi all, I am taking the plunge and posting on here and hoping I'm not tempting fate! 🙈
I'm 40, and this is my first pregnancy from my first round of IVF. The online calculators say I am due 2nd June, but I may be induced before then because of age/IVF.
I got a faint line on Friday (9dp5dt) and a 1-2 weeks on a digital yesterday, and apparently I am 4w2days (I find that crazy as the little embryo only went in 11 days ago 😂). My test today was a little lighter so I'm a bit panicky but I'm hoping it's just because I drank a lot of water yesterday evening after being out in the sun. Trying to remain rational! 🤞
Good luck and best wishes to everyone, and massive congratulations to you all!

bubble55 · 25/09/2022 08:52

I took another test today after it got lighter yesterday and it’s slightly, slightly darker but not a lot. I don’t know what to think and feel like I’m waiting for the inevitable :( I’m on edge and i feel numb because there’s barely any success stories online for similar situations.

Hello. Joining you all here, but tentively. Got abfp yesterday, but I'll be 39 this week and this will be baby number 6 😂

Not planned, but hey-ho. I also get really bad sickness so 🤞 its not as bad this time around.

Due early June 🥰

Greymalkin12 · 25/09/2022 09:01

@B1993 fingers crossed for you!
@bubble55 I think like @Totorotoes said perhaps it depends a bit on how much water you've drunk?
Congratulations to everyone and good luck. Would someone be able to send a link to the Facebook group please as I couldn't find it x

bubble55 · 25/09/2022 09:03

@Greymalkin12 i don’t drink anything during the night though and stop drinking after a certain time. Who knows. I just hope I’m wrong.

B1993 · 25/09/2022 09:16

@bubble55 The limbo is unbearable - I'm right there with you!!

It could possibly the the time of day you're testing though. I tend to get stronger lines in the afternoon/evening compared to my FMU and it's actually quite common for that to be the case! It make sense if you implanted in evening, I suppose. Here's a chart that I found a while ago that might give you a bit of reassurance.

@Totorotoes I forgot to mention you in the last message but it might be useful for you too!

Good luck both! 💜

Fredthespider · 25/09/2022 09:31

@bubble55 I’m also having a bit of a testing crisis. I had a very faint FRER on Thursday, much clearer yesterday and a cheapie had the faintest of lines. But a repeat cheapie test this morning is a stark white negative. I’m 13 DPO and was hoping to be able to use up the stupid amount of cheap tests that I bought but they are so rubbish (at least that’s what I’m telling myself). Trying to avoid buying more FRERs, but I think I’m going to cave!

Totorotoes · 25/09/2022 09:33

@B1993 thank you, yes that is reassuring! My problem in the afternoon is that I can only hold for about an hour!! 🤣 My sister has told me to step away from the tests, she had very light tests too and 2 successful pregnancies, so I am trying to remain hopeful.
Wishing you all the best as well, I hope your spotting stops and your tests stay positive 🤗 this is a hard journey isn't it?

Veryxonfused · 25/09/2022 09:42

My tests are also always darker in the afternoon - even when comparing FMU to say a 1 hour hold
weird because I don’t remember having that with my first pregnancy

B1993 · 25/09/2022 10:03

@Fredthespider Which brand did you use? I bought a loaf of OneStep strip tests from Amazon (the very sensitive ones) and they have been great! I've got early postives at 8DPO both this pregancy and the one last month. I wouldn't say progression in lines is amazing but there's still a slight but obvious difference. Might be worth giving them ago to save on expensive FRER tests.

@Totorotoes you do need to limit fluid intake. I've found that even a 2-3 hour evening hold for me is as dark as as FMU!!

Totorotoes · 25/09/2022 10:07

@B1993 @Veryxonfused I'm going to try an evening one later, or tomorrow, if I can! That chart certainly suggests it may be more accurate too.
@Fredthespider I tested with a clearblue digital, a FRER, and a cheapie the clinic gave me- all with the same wee. I got positive from the CB and FRER but the cheapie was negative. I guess it isn't as sensitive, some cheapies are probably better than others I guess. So don't fret!

Fredthespider · 25/09/2022 10:10

@B1993 yeh they’re the one step ones, I think I just got a dodgy batch tbh (and officially they are expired as I bought them ages ago 😬) I remember them not being great when I had an ectopic pregnancy, I bought them so I could test until it went negative and they were negative even though my bloods were still fairly high positive.

I think I was just hoping that I could switch from FRER to them for reassurance but there is definitely no reassurance right now 😂 my OH has suggested we get some more FRERs off his own back so I’m not going to argue with him.

Fredthespider · 25/09/2022 10:16

@Totorotoes glad it’s not just me! I used the same urine sample yesterday for both tests and got the same result as you. Congratulations by the way! I have everything crossed that it only takes you one cycle 😊

Greymalkin12 · 25/09/2022 10:16

I completely understand the testing thing, I went to the supermarket yesterday and couldn't bring myself to spend £10 on tests when I've already like taken seven since testing positive, so have sneakily bought another load of one step ones...

theodora2146 · 25/09/2022 10:19

Is it normal not to have many symptoms yet? I am going to the toilet more frequently plus lots of wind and I'm quite bloated. Boobs are a bit on and off with tenderness. Not really any cramps as such, a few mild ones that go away. I'm 4w+3 and my eyes feel tired like I've not slept properly but I don't yet feel like I've got no energy.

Am I thinking too much into it or is it normal as it's still very early.

B1993 · 25/09/2022 10:30

@Fredthespider, that could definitely explain it!!

@theodora2146 It's common not to have symptoms until around the 6th week of pregancy. Saying that, with my first pregnancy I could count on one hand how many times I felt nauseas the entire nine months!! I didn't have cravings or aversions either, and that was a healthy full term pregnancy.

Funnily enough, the pregancy I had last month was really reassuring as I developed symptoms super quickly!!! I was getting nausea and aversions by 4 weeks. Obviously that ended in miscarriage at 5 weeks.

What I'm trying to explain is symptoms, or a lack of them, don't indicate how well a pregancy is progressing. At this stage it's still really early anyway, so definitely no need to worry. 💜
