Very early pregnancy and so much anxiety after miscarriage

I found out I was pregnant a couple of days ago.

i had a miscarriage about 4 years ago and have since had a successful pregnancy who is my gorgeous DS.

but now I’m pregnant again I have SO much anxiety, I’m terrified of miscarrying.

how do you reassure yourself to calm down? I feel like my head goes completely out of control!

I've had a quick read as there’s a lot to catch up on that I’m used to 😅 google is my worst enemy but also sometimes I get some relief from it telling me ‘trapped wind’ or ‘stretching uterus’. Haven’t googled much the past few days as I’ve been relying on the fact I’m feeling sicky every day all day the past few days. Taking that as my sign of things going okay 🤞🤞 @Sprinklerainbows and I both had a&e trips around the same day for the exact same reasons (pains). They kind of have to offer another scan 2 weeks later because at the time we had pains you couldn’t see anything really.
My scan revealed a gestational sac but not much notable inside - hoping my scan next Wednesday (I’ll be 7+4) will show a lot more! 🥰 xx

@Cassarat they saw something on my previous scan at 6 weeks so I'm sure they will see something at your scan! Hope it goes okay 😍😘 xx

@Cassarat glad you’re feeling a little bit more calm since the sickness started. Mines been horrendous today but not actually been sick weirdly!
cant believe it’s less than a week away for our scans now

@xalexandra thats good to know, I think I’ll be 6+5 by then according to my last scan (7+2 according to lmp)

Excited to follow all your pregnancy journeys and wishing us all the hope in the world.

I'm not feeling 'pregnant' as such but I'm only around 4-5 weeks. I'm going to phone midwife tomorrow just to see what they say regarding scans etc but I'm not hopeful they'll offer, may be better just booking privately. It's a small cost for the reassurance I need.

@hanginthere12 I found it really useful getting one at around 8 weeks! I didn't really feel pregnant till I hit the 8 and a half week mark, that's when the nausea started. From weeks 1-7 I pretty much had no symptoms and was worrying all the time why I didn't have any, then they just hit me in the face! Xx

@hanginthere12 I only really felt pregnant this week, now the nausea and sickness has started! I thought I may have got away with it but it’s hit me like a ton of bricks 🤣 maybe that will happen to you, or maybe you’ll be a lucky one!

@xalexandra literally exactly the same as me just for me at 6 weeks haha

The last three nights I have barely slept and always waking up through the night needing the toilet. I've also woke up two days in a row now with the worst headache that won't budge. Not sure if that's normal or maybe I'm just coming down with something. Still testing positive 3 days later so that's a plus. :)

Hi guys. Update from me.

My pregnancy assessment unit phoned me today after speaking to midwives. I'm booked for a early reassurance scan this Tuesday, I'll only be around 6 weeks so not hopeful they'll see anything. Still haven't told my partner I'm pregnant and he wouldn't make the scan anyway with working. I feel like I want to surprise him after I know everything is ok.

When are your scans?

@hanginthere12 that will be nice if you can get a pic and suprise him with it 😍 don't stress if the pic isn't very clear as it's 6 weeks but how exciting!

I've got my 12 week scan a week today 😄 exactly when I'm 12 weeks as well, I turned 11 weeks today xxx

@Sprinklerainbows hello!! I'm all good here apart from being hit with the cold the last few days. I'm around 5+3 today. First scan on Tuesday, so so nervous. I haven't made it past this stage in my last three pregnancies so i'm just hoping to keep going. This week is going to be a difficult one.

Still haven't told partner or anyone for that matter, the fact I haven't told anyone, kinda makes it 'less real' if that makes sense.. I just don't feel like telling anyone until I know something is there.

Scary but exciting week ahead for us all! No pregnancy symptoms as of yet but maybe that's just because I've been so unwell with the cold.

@hopingthisistheone oh bless you! Tbf when you’re pregnant you’re much more likely to get ill, so I’d take it as a good sign!
i can’t believe you’ve managed not to! I’m sure everything will be perfect on the scan.

Hello! I’m super anxious for the scan on Wednesday - I’ve also been super ill the past few days. I spent all of yesterday in bed feeling like I had motion sickness all day! Same again today, but I managed to get the washing in the machine for the first time in a week!
Still feel like I have motion sickness though, just want to be sick but nothing comes up!

@Cassarat oh bless you, that’s kind of how I’ve felt! It’s all day long but I’m only actually sick in the evenings!

I haven’t physically been sick yet, just the feeling of needing to constantly 😅 eased up today and since the scan is getting so close, I keep going over the fact she only saw a gestation sac and nothing inside 😔

@Cassarat i hope you’re not sick, honestly it doesn’t even take away the nausea it just continues 😅
remember it’s SO common to not see anything and she thought there might be a little something! There wasn’t anything it the sac for me either and we are around the same in weeks so it makes sense! Some apparently don’t see until 6+ weeks!

im meant to be 7 weeks today! But I recon I’m about 4 days behind that. But by Wednesday we should know for sure that there’s a beautiful growing baby in there. Sending love, I feel anxious too but trying to tell myself the facts which I know to be true. Plus this happened with my son and it all was fine xx

Thank you for all the reassurance. I’ve just started having some brown discharge and this is exactly how my previous miscarriage started. I’m going to head to bed for tonight and see what’s going on tomorrow down there 😔 I fear I may be out at 7+3 xx

@Cassarat I know it's extremely difficult to try and remain positive at this time but I think all we can do is hold on to that little hope.

So many people experience miscarriage but then go on to have healthy babies. Then others have miscarriage after miscarriage, with no explanation why, me being one.

We just have to hold out hope that this time will be our one, and if it's not, we will be ok and can keep trying.

Try not to worry and wait until your scan comes. With my miscarriages, I ALWAYS bled quite quickly and it was heavy. I knew it was happening.

@Cassarat im so sorry to hear that! I had lots of bleeding with my son, I had a cervix ectropian which is really common in pregnancy, call epu in the morning if it continues! Sending love xx

@Cassarat @Sprinklerainbows usually most people don't see anything anything less than 6 weeks, that's why they suggest any scans being 6+ weeks! And even at 6 weeks it can be really hard to find something, don't worry too much about the brown discharge either as it's completely normal especially in early pregnancy, I had some the other day and I'm 11+3! But if it resolves itself pretty quickly then there's usually no issues - also brown means old blood (red would mean new blood) so try not to stress, I know it's hard though! ❤️ Good luck with your scans xxx

My sickness has been so bad, I haven't even to work in 3 weeks, I haven't really done anything as I've been bed bound, this first trimester has been absolutely awful and very mentally draining but I'm trying to take it as a positive! I'm just really concerned I'm not drinking enough fluids :/ but my 12 week scan is on Friday so will ask for some more advice then. All they seem to say is "rest and drink water" but it's physically really hard to drink water when it makes me sick! Xxx

@xalexandra i feel you with the sickness, with my son I had HG and was sick 20x a day, it was horrendous. I can feel it’s building up for me this time round, I was sick about 5/6 times yesterday 😬 nothing worse, the only good thing is I find it slightly reassuring that hopefully the pregnancy is a healthy one 😅xx

Does anyone else feel like they have hot flushes or just me? 😅 I feel like I get really hot at night!

Well ladies I have just been for my scan, unfortunately they couldn't see anything, not even a sac. I'm devastated. They took bloods but I'm not hopeful.
