Very early pregnancy and so much anxiety after miscarriage

I found out I was pregnant a couple of days ago.

i had a miscarriage about 4 years ago and have since had a successful pregnancy who is my gorgeous DS.

but now I’m pregnant again I have SO much anxiety, I’m terrified of miscarrying.

how do you reassure yourself to calm down? I feel like my head goes completely out of control!

@Cassarat I was using easy @ home test and thought they weren’t progressing fast enough but the first response put me at ease, I started to do one once every 2 days and it was much clearer line progression. Sometimes i think with daily testing its so much harder to tell the difference so just sends your mind crazy 🤣!!!

All I’m thinking now is that they’ve put me on edge! I wasn’t planning on testing daily but it freaked me out haha.
Maybe I’ll get some first response ones, may be cheaper as well. I’m getting 1 more digital for when I’m 6 weeks which should hopefully progress to say 3+ on it 🤞 had the 1-2 and 2-3 so that’s the last I need it to say!
Im putting my kind at ease with the fact that they were tested with different times of urine throughout the day 😅

@Cassarat Yes I think testing is sometimes a curse 😅

It definitely is. I done another this morning with my first morning wee. And it looks much better - still unsure about those 2 in the middle though!

im feeling nauseous still, I’m certain I’ll throw up anyday but I have been saying that a while now 🤣

oh no not the sickness! I’ve had 1 or 2 cramps today but they seem to have subsided for now.
I have been getting a very sharp intense stab underneath my right breast (rib area) for a few minutes, worse when I breathe in. Not going to overthink that. Boobs are feeling quite tender today as well x

Not sure I have any advice but I have felt the same. MC last Nov and now due by the end of the month.

I'm afraid that I didn't really find a way to cope and my advice would be to talk to a medical professional asap, maybe your Dr or the Early Pregnancy Unit where you'll self refer at 12 weeks. I didn't and it's been a rough and lonely time, it's really stopped me enjoying my pregnancy.

@Cassarat I’m so surprised I’ve not been sick yet. I’m guessing 6 weeks will be the week it starts if it does as that’s the norm…

im definitely less crampy then a week ago but still getting mild cramps here and there, I really can’t really when that stopped completely last time!

weird about your ribs, maybe things are just moving around and preparing!
same with the boobs! Especially my nipples 🤣 very sensitive

@Fortuny sorry to hear youve experienced that! I really didn’t enjoy my first pregnancy either. Really sad and deffo affected my postpartum period too, I never believed I’d meet my son alive so it was a shock when he was actually completely healthy 🤣

Hey! I came over quite unwell last night. My whole body had chills and I was dry heaving over the toilet so I just went to bed.
My right side is twinging quite a bit today where I believe my ovary is.. feels like it’s going to burst when I stretch or move suddenly. I want to call the early unit but with no blood I feel it’s a waste of time? At 5 + 3 what could they really tell me from a scan.

secondly HOW weird. I’ve been to the EPU this morning for the EXACT same reason.

they couldn’t see a pregnancy on the scan but they think it’s too early and I’m less pregnant then I thought, which I did think anyway. Had bloods done and waiting for a call back.

they didn’t seem too concerned and said they expect my bloods to double in 2 days. Praying it’s okay. I deffo urge you to go in!

Oh my goodness! I hope you’re okay? What was it that made you go? The pains in general? My right ovary hasn’t eased up with the twinges yet.

@Cassarat yes the one sided pain! It woke me up in the night and I just felt impending doom.

im now doubly anxious because they couldn’t see anything on the scan, although I know it’s normal at this early stage. they did say they could see my womb lining was very thick which should suggest my body is preparing for the baby.

I haven’t had the hcg results back yet wish they’d just call 😅

maybe worth calling epu if the pain is still there? Even just for the bloods?

The midwife seemed to think it was more likely a cyst created by the egg that was released which apparently can be painful, if they’d any reassurance for you xx

@Cassarat I don’t think it’s good news… my hcg levels are 1800, they should be able to see something at this point so I have to go back for another scan tomorrow.

oh no, I’m so sorry 😔 I’m not sure what levels the HCG is meant to be at different points. But if they said you’re measuring early that what you thought then maybe that’s a normal level for 4ish weeks 🤞 think I’ll call EPU tomorrow then as our symptoms have been soo similar that the one sided pain I’ve been getting may need looking at.
Please let me know how the scans go tomorrow!

I think she said 1800 is what you’d expect at 5 weeks but normally you’d see something on the scan at 5 weeks. I’m so worried it’s ectopic but we will have to see. I’m prepared for the worst now.

I’m sitting at a&e now, after a referral from 111 as I started having some shoulder pain. They’re not worried about my heart rate at the minute as my resting is 110bpm.
Doing some bloods and an ECG, then I think the EPU will see me. Surely they would have been able to see your tubes in the scan to determine whether it’s ectopic? Xx

how are you now? Could they scan you in a&e?

i think they said because it’s so early they may not be able to see the baby in the tubes or womb yet 😬 my scan is at 2 I’ll keep you updated

Hey! I got home around 2am last night, they done a cervix examination and couldn’t see any bleeding or unusual discharge. I’m going in again now for a scan at 12 to try and see where the pregnancy is at. I’ll keep you updated as well 🤞🏻 Best of luck today xxx

Hey’ I’ve just seen your message about constant pain, where abouts is it? Is it like cramping pain or ovaries maybe? How’re you feeling now?

scan was ok, not ectopic which is great - she saw the sac in the uterus and could maybe see the yolk sac but too small to determine so she’s booked me in for 5th October where hopefully they’ll be able to see more by then 🤞
The vaginal scan actually hurt a little - all the pressure and just constant for a good 20 minutes. Got some cramping now but I’m assuming it’s because of the scan.

that’s great. Same for us! A tiny sac with a possible fetal pole but very very small so also back for a scan on 5th 🤣

I’m 4 weeks which I think is right because I thought 5 would be unlikely!

Wow, very similar! She wrote on my form thing to takeaway that a possible very small in distinct yolk sac seen. Which has freaked me out tbh. I’m now just constantly concerned it’s not developing as it should be. These 2 weeks are going to be very very stressful - I’ve also woken up with less tender breasts than the previous few days. I’m so stressed 🤦🏼‍♀️ Xx

@Cassarat same here she said ‘MAYBE’ it’s the baby because it was that tiny. However I had a scan at the exact same time with my son and there was nothing in the sac, 2 weeks later there he was!

ive also felt very uneasy today. Less symptoms (I was sick yesterday) nothing today, less tender breasts too and basically no cramping! Only this evening have I had any form of symptom really!

been a hard few days for both of us. I was pretty certain I’d lost the baby only yesterday. Today my instant mindset was panic due to lack of sickness when I woke but but also, I feel like the misery I put myself through the last week being so anxious didn’t make a difference when I was faced with the fact there was potentially no baby. I thought preparing for the worst would help but I think it only made it more sad! Though a very pleasant surprise when all did appear well haha

im going to try and relax the best I can and lean into the experience. I’m trying to imagine myself with a little bump around Christmas and that makes me feel happy in a weirdly wishful way haha!

I hope these 2 weeks go quickly so we can see those babies with a beautiful heartbeat each 💕
