I found out I was pregnant a couple of days ago.

i had a miscarriage about 4 years ago and have since had a successful pregnancy who is my gorgeous DS.

but now I’m pregnant again I have SO much anxiety, I’m terrified of miscarrying.

how do you reassure yourself to calm down? I feel like my head goes completely out of control!

@hopingthisistheone they said the same to me , I cried for hours honestly I was convinced it was the worst. Hopefully you should know very soon but this sounds so similar to me! There’s a thread on here from a few years ago where a lady had hcg of over 2000 and no sac, it was a happy ending and there was hundreds of comments saying the same happened to them! Try and find it because it gave me so much peace of mind! X

Hi all, sorry I’ve been so absent - thank you for the well wishes! I’m still bleeding and it’s still brown - not spotting though, feels like it’s getting heavier so I’m expecting to see red soon.
best of luck with the scan today! Mines at 2.40, basically just going to confirm my suspicions. I’ve been non stop crying since Monday night - my gut is telling me to prepare so that’s what I’ve been doing xx

Ahhh I can't find this thread but does give me that little bit hope. There's so many of us on here going through the same sort of things. It's so sad.

hopingthisistheone · 05/10/2022 14:17

Update from me guys; I'm back in tomorrow for a scan. They said if they don't find a sac tomorrow, it will be ectopic and I'll need to have treatment from the consultants. Signed off work for two days till I can deal with this.

xalexandra · 05/10/2022 14:21

@hopingthisistheone wishing you all the best for your scan tomorrow 🙏🏼❤️

hopingthisistheone · 05/10/2022 15:49

Sprinklerainbows · 05/10/2022 15:58

@Cassarat so sorry, I think there’s still hope, been thinking of you all day.

@hopingthisistheone glad to hear they’ve booked you in tomorrow. I’ll have everything crossed for you xx

@xalexandra thank you!

@Sprinklerainbows what a lovely relief for you and some good news to get you through the next few weeks 🌸

hopingthisistheone · 05/10/2022 16:00

Congratulations @Sprinklerainbows so happy for you. Xx

Sprinklerainbows · 05/10/2022 16:05

Thank you both! I’ve booked a private scan for 2 weeks time just to bridge the gap between now and my 12 week, so not too long to wait xx

xalexandra · 05/10/2022 16:07

I think if they see a heartbeat at 8+ weeks apparently the chances of miscarriage dramatically decrease, I had a private scan at 8+5 and it filled me with such relief and then my 12 week scan is on Friday. I think I'll defo book one between the 12 week and 20 week scan though because that seems like bloody ages!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

hopingthisistheone · 05/10/2022 16:08

@Sprinklerainbows did they not offer you a further scan before your 12 week for reassurance?

Sprinklerainbows · 05/10/2022 16:14

@xalexandra yes I’ve heard the exact same and I’ll be around 9 weeks so I know I’ll feel reassured like you were! good luck for Friday that’s exciting. I’ll deffo book another in between. I did with my son at 17 weeks, it was lovely

@hopingthisistheone no that’s it’s for now from the nhs until the 12 week x

I've got weird sort of feeling in my tummy, it almost feels like stretching etc and has been going on a wee while now. Maybe a good sign?

xalexandra · 05/10/2022 17:09

@hopingthisistheone a sign that something is potentially growing 😘

Sprinklerainbows · 05/10/2022 17:16

@hopingthisistheone yes round ligament pain! I had this a lot at the beginning, I feel it now and then when I go from sitting to standing x

Cassarat · 05/10/2022 17:17

Hello! I’m am overjoyed, my scan went really well - I was prepared for the bad news that when she showed me a 7 week baby with a heartbeat I just cried!’ 🎉🙏🏻 So pleased to hear yours went well too!!
best of luck with the scan tomorrow as well xx

xalexandra · 05/10/2022 17:21

@Cassarat that's brilliant news! So happy for you!

hopingthisistheone · 05/10/2022 17:26

@Cassarat congratulations!! So happy for you. That's great news. Xx

hopingthisistheone · 05/10/2022 17:27

@Sprinklerainbows I've now got cramping which is normally how miscarriage starts. :( maybe this is the end of the road for me. X

Sprinklerainbows · 05/10/2022 17:34

@Cassarat oh thank god. SO happy for you! Such great news 🤍

@hopingthisistheone try not to panic, cramping is sooo normal I had awful cramping after my internal scan last time x

Is body aching a sign? I feel absolutely knocked off, like I'm recovering from the flu or something. I never had this with my first pregnancy, just feel so tired and no energy whatsoever.

hopingthisistheone · 06/10/2022 03:20

Well ladies I've been up all night with the most awful period pains, waiting for the bleeding to come now. I've been through this too many times. Good luck on all your pregnancies and it was lovely chatting with you all. Bye. Xxxx

Worries are everyday during pregnancy. Pregnancy hormone changes, previous heartbreaking miscarriages, and sleep difficulties can all contribute to anxiety in expectant mothers.

What else can help with pregnancy anxiety?

Participate in regular physical activity: Physical activity is generally safe during pregnancy. Consult your doctor first if you are at risk for preterm labor or have pregnancy complications.

Make time to sleep. Whether it's a soothing bedtime routine, a pregnancy pillow, or a few nights away from your snoring partner, now is the time to figure out what works best for you.

Exercise mindfulness. According to research, mindfulness can help reduce labor anxiety and even prevent postpartum depression.
