I found out I was pregnant a couple of days ago.

i had a miscarriage about 4 years ago and have since had a successful pregnancy who is my gorgeous DS.

but now I’m pregnant again I have SO much anxiety, I’m terrified of miscarrying.

how do you reassure yourself to calm down? I feel like my head goes completely out of control!

Hello! Feel like I haven’t seen baby for months 😬 finally got my next few appointment letters through. They seem to have booked me in for every growth scan until she’s here! My next scan is 28th Feb 🤞 xx

Sprinklerainbows · 18/02/2023 18:31

@Cassarat bless you! That’s exciting!
we’ve just had our 12th scan 🤣 sounds so excessive but I do feel lucky to have seen her so much!

I recently found out I was pregnant two days ago and when I wipe there was pink spotting. Today it’s gotten a little darker and but it’s still only when I wipe. I went to the ER last night before the different kind of color from today and they did a internal ultrasound and it showed (IMPRESSION:
Early intrauterine pregnancy present with yolk sac evident. Fetal pole not yet identified. Gestational sac is too small to date.

No acute abnormality.) what does that mean and should I be worried or what do I look for. I feel so anxious and I don’t have a appointment til the 24th and then I gotta set up a obgyn appointment.

@Sprinklerainbows oh thats brilliant! As long as she's growing at her own little speed 💓
@Cassarat me too! I'm 32 weeks and haven't seen her since 20 week scan! Haven't got a scan yet till 39 weeks 😂

xalexandra · 21/02/2023 22:03

@Katie95xx I think it just means it's sooo early! Literally could be days but there wouldn't be a heartbeat yet and it's too small to give a date of conception so they can't give you anymore info. Usually when it's so early, you usually do have to come back in a couple of weeks - usually around 6 weeks to see if there has been growth or a heartbeat!

The blood could be implantation bleeding which is entirely normal - it usually occurs 10-14 days after conception so try not to stress!

It's annoying to have to wait a little longer - but it just has to be done because it's so early still! Xxx

Sprinklerainbows · 27/02/2023 11:28

@xalexandra how’re you doing?

we’ve got 3 apps this week 🤣 fetal medicine, midwife and consultant. Hopefully she’s okay in there we’ve had some reduced movements lately. I haven’t gone in for monitoring but she’s keeping me on my toes 😬 back to usual kicks today thank god. Xx

OP posts:
xalexandra · 01/03/2023 19:22

@Sprinklerainbows how big do they think she is now?

I'm all good thanks, I went in for reduced movements the other day but all was fine - they referred me for a scan which I had last night and I can't believe it but they think she's 6 pounds already 🤣 god help me! Im 33 weeks tomorrow. I'm tiny too only 5 ft 1 - if she keeps growing at this rate I'm going to have a giant baby! I know how inaccurate these scans can be though as what everyone keeps telling me and how they've been told they're having a large baby then the baby comes out normal size! Got to have another GD test though because of it but seems pointless at this point because I'm due next month! Apart from that though, all good and she's all healthy so that's all I can ask for 🫶🏻 xx

Sprinklerainbows · 01/03/2023 20:32

@xalexandra oh my goodness!!! Tbf yeah I’ve never known anyone actually have a large baby like they say 🤣 but that’s a whopper!
how annoying about the GD test thought I’ve heard it’s not pleasant

we had our scan today, she’s measuring just below 2lbs so the opposite end of the scale 🤣 blood flow is still good so onwards we go! She’s dropped a little lower off the chart but she seems to go up and down a bit. They didn’t seem too concerned. Currently breech again which is fine because we’ve got time for her to turn but she just can’t make up her mind! She’s in a different position each time we go 🤣 my son was head down and stayed that way from 20 weeks!

OP posts:
xalexandra · 01/03/2023 20:38

@Sprinklerainbows I've already had one about 3 weeks ago which is what is annoying but they want me to do another one incase it's developing 😂 I don't think there's any major worry though, I'll just have another scan at 36 week if GD positive and I've got one at 39 weeks anyway, hopefully she's done all her growing now and she'll slow down a bit 😂

Awww yeah everytime midwife checks my bump, baby seems to be in a different position! I don't think they worry too much about position until ready for arrival - brilliant news she's doing well though even though she is small, just a couple more pounds and she will pretty much be a healthy bubba 🫶🏻💗

Sprinklerainbows · 01/03/2023 20:47

@xalexandra yuck poor you! Good they are keeping an eye. They seem to love to diagnose women with GD 🤣 the threshold is so low (compared to normal diabetes)

nice to have some extra scans though!

They definitely don’t worry until around 36/7 weeks then they struggle to turn on their own after that, because its so squished in there 🤣😅

Aw thank you, yeah she’s doing well thank god. I’m hoping she can double her weight minimum over the next 8 or so weeks. So that when she’s born she’s got a better chance of coming straight home with us. My only other worry is that they warned me about the placenta struggling in the third trimester so nows the make or break really. Hoping it carries on behaving until the end 😬😅

OP posts:
xalexandra · 01/03/2023 21:00

@Sprinklerainbows I know! At this point I'm not even that bothered because it seems to late to manage diet etc, if she's going to be big then she's going to be big!

Is there a reason for your placenta potentially struggling in the third trimester? Do they have an idea of how and when she will be coming or will they allow it to happen naturally? Is a C sec best for something like this? I suppose it depends on what happens to your placenta as well! I hope there's lots of rest for you between appointments so you can carry on cooking her nicely 😁

Sprinklerainbows · 01/03/2023 21:10

@xalexandra that’s very true! They defo try and induce you if she stays big🤦🏼‍♀️

They assume her size is more likely due to the placenta. I had lots of bleeding and high blood pressure in early and that can cause placental insufficiency. Which essentially means it doesn’t form properly so can’t sustain the baby later on in pregnancy.
no we won’t be allowed to go past 37/8 weeks. So she’ll definitely be there around early May time. Atm it’s likely an induction over c section because there’s no real need for one. Apparently small babies are more likely to go into respiratory distress via c section so would rather avoid that!

The stress of pregnancy! So glad she’s my last 🤣🤣🤣

OP posts:
Sprinklerainbows · 05/03/2023 08:52

@Cassarat @xalexandra either of your got the third trimester insomnia? It’s slowly killing me!!! I’m feeling much more ‘pregnant’ than I did at this stage with my son. Literally can’t believe there’s minimum 7 weeks of this left 😵

OP posts:
xalexandra · 05/03/2023 09:02

@Sprinklerainbows yes! It doesn't help that I need to go to the toilet a minimum of 5 times a night 😂 I have such broken sleep, I sleep and hour or two hours here and there!

Sprinklerainbows · 05/03/2023 09:10

@xalexandra ugh it’s so miserable 🤣 i actually don’t get up much to wee in the night thankfully. Instead I just lay there waiting for morning 🥴
im only working 3 days a week, I have no idea how people work full time the whole way through. Although looking after a toddler all day is similar I suppose 😅

OP posts:
xalexandra · 05/03/2023 11:18

@Sprinklerainbows oh that's good! Full time would never work with all the appointments as well 🤣 I'm just finding myself getting so tired again like the first trimester! Waiting for results from the 2nd GD test, 34 weeks on Thursday! 😬

Sprinklerainbows · 05/03/2023 12:04

No it’s true 🤣
Hopefully you’ll get them back tomorrow!
not long now!!!

Sprinklerainbows · 16/03/2023 12:39

@xalexandra how’re you doing?

I’ve had a really weird scan today and feeling so uneasy about it. Up until now baby girl had been measuring small but on her own little line just believe the 3rd centile. Today I had a scan had her stomach has literally doubled in size and left the head and legs behind (still below the 3rd) and they’ve mentioned about the possibility of downs again because apparently that type of asymmetric growth can be a sign of it.

THEN she also thinks my placenta is still looking too low to give birth vaginally rn so I need to go back next week for an internal scan to measure for sure.

im absolutely beyond done 🤣

hope you’re both doing well!

OP posts:
xalexandra · 16/03/2023 16:03

@Sprinklerainbows I'm good thank you! Got a month left till due date but might get induced at 39 weeks because of baby measuring a bit bigger the whole time but will know closer to the time 🙂

Oh no! I've heard the stomach measurement is the most inaccurate - I've known a few people where the abdomen measurement is larger (including mine!) but from what I know it's the most inaccurate so try to stay positive about it 😊 it's annoying when they mention something like downs again because you can't get it out of your head, but also them measurements are soooo inaccurate. My babies stomach measurement is off the chart 🤣 I think that's the problem with the constant growth scans (granted you need them obviously) but so much can change and you're constantly getting new information from the scan. Try not to worry too much about that, although I know it's easier said than done!

Ah but double whammy with the slightly bad news. How do you feel about a C-sec?

Is she still cooking nicely? Xx

Sprinklerainbows · 16/03/2023 22:46

@xalexandra oh wow not long at all! That so exciting, I wonder if she’ll actually be big after all…

have you got a name yet?

I’m hoping it’s just a random measurement because it was a different person scanning to normal.
I have accepted the fact she might have downs or another genetic condition but was feeling really positive about it considering there’s not been any more signs but now I’m worried again haha

I honestly would be devastated with a c section. After a super positive quick vag birth I was so excited to do it again. Plus recovery with a 2.5 year old is terrifying, he’s such a pickle these days (lots of tantrums and running off when we are out etc) my husband will only be on Pat leave for 2 weeks so I think I’d struggle a lot recovering from the surgery with 2 on my own 🫠

OP posts:
xalexandra · 16/03/2023 23:11

@Sprinklerainbows yeah it'll be interesting to see how big she actually is! Yes, I think she will be called Ottilie and middle name Florence! 💕😊

Aw I'm feeling positive for you, I bet she will be fine and healthy - just maybe a bit small and earlier. These measurements just always seem all over the place with everyone! And more so when you have different sonographers, I'm surprised they don't have the same sonogrpaher for you considering the worries. Is there good blood flow and good heartbeat?

Hopefully you'll be able to have a normal birth 🙏🏼 I know some people need that good solid 6 weeks to recover but also heard of a lot of people who are out and about in 2 weeks, I can imagine it would be tough with a child already though. Have you got other support around you if you need help? My OH only has 2 weeks off too, seems like nothing doesn't it 🫣 have you thought of any names? Xx

Sprinklerainbows · 17/03/2023 07:28

@xalexandra aw that’s a beautiful name! I feel like all my friends have been told they are having big babies and they end up about 8lbs 🤣

aw thank you I really hope so. So normally it’s the fetal medicine consultant who scans me but I had to have the extra scan because of movements. She still doesn’t actually have a patterns and jusy disappears for a few days a week 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️
blood flow looks good atm! But that’s what they are keeping a close eye on, hopefully it stays that way…

Yes me too, seems like it’s different for everyone. I’ve never had surgery before so I’m not sure how my body typically heals.
my parents are local but both work full time, it’s so hard isn’t it! 2 weeks goes in a flash 😭
yes we’ve got a name too she’ll be Delphine (known as Delphi) Olive

OP posts:
xalexandra · 17/03/2023 09:26

@Sprinklerainbows Delphi is so cute! Absolutely love that 🥰

It is ironic how someone different scanned you and you got that news! When is your next scan with the feral medicine consultant? But it's good they are keeping close eye on blood flow, blood flow is a fact whereas measurements aren't so as long as she's got good blood flow then she's doing well 💕

Oh.. bloody movements, wish we didn't have to focus on them so much, another thing that causes so much stress and worry with not knowing what's normal or if she's ok in there!

I know the dreaded C sec isn't what you want, and you may even likely get to have a normal birth! They just have to inform you of these things if there is a small chance of it happening, we don't know how you will have her but you will have a beautiful baby at the end of it 😍 and I'm sure be thankful for when this journey is over! 😂
