That's cool we're all pretty much in a range together then! Just wondered outbid curiosity with miscarriage etc that's partly why I always said I'd wanted to be done with babies because I know they say the risk heightens nearer 40. So unfair that men can keep going till they die pretty much 😒 as if woman don't have it hard enough!

Me and OH always agreed 3, when our eldest came along and turned out he had severe special needs we then changed to 2, but after seeing what a positive impact that had on us all we had another. And we we're set on 3 as we were both 1 of 3 siblings in our families but I didn't feel like I was done with pregnancy so here we are! Who knows I may never feel like I'll be done but I think 4 is my limit I need to buy a 7 seater as it is now lol don't want to aim for a minibus X

Older sperm definitely contribute to miscarriage, it's just that is women bare the brunt of the actual physical loss 💔 not fair at all!

@MooBugz that's lovely you have found such positivity after having a special needs child 🥰

Nice we are all similar ages. At the moment definitely thinking 2 is my max as I feel so rotten and just don't want to do this early pregnancy part again. I did used to want 3 but have always oscillated between 2/3 so reckon we might stop at 2. DH only wants 2.

I bought some tik taks and they're helping the nausea a little - thanks for the mint recommendations.

I'm having some heart palpitations, has anyone else had these? X

Preseli · 08/09/2022 21:05

@MooBugz I seem to be the outlier here as I'll be 27 at the end of October.

I think we will probably only have the 1 child as although I think I might want 2 my husband doesn't as we would have to move or have a loft conversion in order to have the space so it would take away from what we would be able to provide for any children.

Pregnancy also seems to be quite difficult for me physically so I'm not sure I will want to go through this again!

@Skylark1990 I had heart palpitation which I think was due to anaemia, but then I also couldn't walk up the stairs without having to take a break. Maybe ask your midwife if you are worried, it's likely nothing but it's not worth worrying over xx

Preseli · 08/09/2022 21:14

oh, and my birth plan is to have a c-section as after my late loss last time I don't think I can mentally go through labour again, I just want them out as quickly as possible :)

Scorpio8 · 08/09/2022 21:20

If you feel baby move it's normal if you don't feel it everyday?

I

LittleLottle · 09/09/2022 07:01

@RedElleJ that is so cute! I cant wait to hear and feel baby!

@Scorpio8 that's normal in the beginning

This is baby number 2 for us and we're 98% sure we're done at 2

Hagster · 09/09/2022 12:23

@Scorpio8 entirely normal for movement to be hit and miss for ages, think it's about 24 weeks? I only feel mine every 2-3 days and I'm 17 weeks.

I had a vaginal birth with DS, was induced due to Obstetric Choleostasis but had a very positive experience. I think it was partly due to mindset and partly remifentanyl which was a brilliant drug to help! I feel weirdly more nervous this time, not sure why since it was positive but I've got time to get in the right mindset.

Lovely to hear about everyone's experiences, just shows how the 'right' thing is so different for everyone.

doingitalllagain · 09/09/2022 13:42

@Scorpio8 I'm nearly 18 weeks and definitely not feeling everyday, I'll have days where I feel him a few times and then nothing for a couple of days.

I've missed lots of posts so I'm not sure who asked about age and birth plans etc, I'm 27 and this is my third pregnancy, second baby (hopefully!). I'm not sure what to do with my birth plan, I had a caesarean with my first due to breech and last time was set on having another. After miscarrying and hours of contractions with the medical management part of me wants to do it again and reclaim it as something positive, it was just soul destroying labouring for 4 hours knowing there was no baby at the end. I worry it'll be a bit re-traumatising though. My caesarean was a breeze but I would love a third so my midwife said if I can avoid it I should.

I'm 17+5 today. I lost my last baby at 17+5, so it's a bit of a weird feeling and I feel a bit scared today, but it'll be nice to get past it. It's a bit discombobulating and I fell pregnant again very quickly after my miscarriage and both have sort of merged into one, I've been pregnant nearly 9 months in the last 12 and I feel so fed up and like I've been pregnant for years yet I'm still so early and not even halfway! It's frustrating, although I'm happy to be pregnant, I just want him here.

madeinthe80z · 09/09/2022 14:52

Hi all, hope you're all well. Spent the morning at the hospital today, had a consultant appointment (routine as my bmi is just over 30), hooping(?) cough vaccine and they think I might have a UTI.

The injection was painful! As was the almost 2 hour wait to be seen! Anyways, all done now. Just over 2 weeks to my 20 week scan. I want it to be here soon as I think I can feel some movements every now and again but not sure.

I'm 36, had my DD when I was 33 - pretty straightforward labour, 15ish hours in total, about 3 hours in the birthing pool but had to get out to push her out at the end. Same again please!

MooBugz · 09/09/2022 16:05

Happy Friday everyone ❤️

Nice talk hear about all the different experiences and circumstances thank you for the input!

@doingitalllagain I hope you've managed to get through the day ok I can't even begin to imagine what that must have been like and the trauma behind today.

@madeinthe80z ouch I always find one of vaccines sore too can't remember if it's the flu or whooping cough as they are usually at the same time aren't they 😬

Praying we all have a good ish labour howeber it goes! Best we can do is go in with an open mind and hope for the best as long as our babies are healthy what's a little burn eh..🔥🙊

How is everyone doing?
I'm just under 17w and exhausted. Feel like I look ridiculously pregnant too. I don't know if it's my 2y DD, a stressful job or old age!!! I am 39 and will turn 40 a week before due date. I'm definitely stopping then!

RedElleJ · 10/09/2022 06:46

Hey @WonderWoop

Sorry to hear you are feeling so tired. I’m just over 16 weeks and I won’t lie but I have felt better. However, I didn’t actually realise how tired I was in the first trimester until now. My husband and I were talking and I’ve pretty much been pregnant all year so I think I got used to the first trimester tiredness.

I will say that I tired very quickly though! Will do like one thing and I’m ready for bed again 😂 When work is stressful I lose my patience a bit more quickly too…very unlike me.

I think a stressful job and a little one would be tiring anyway - let alone growing a new little one. I hope you are getting lots of rest when you can.

I have always said I want 3 kids but I’m 29. I’ll be 30 about a month or so after little squish arrives so I think 2 might be the limit…if we can have another that is. My hubby is happy with 2 but I secretly hope the next time, it’s twins haha!

Furbabymum15 · 10/09/2022 08:16

@STom2 @Lmcc88 @Rubes1234 Thankyou all for your kind comments❤️ I feel OK since the bleeding stopped. I'm still waiting on a period then I have progesterone pessaries at the ready to try again. I'm just trying to concentrate on myself for now I think mental recovery is the hardest. Was supposed to be doing the Great North Run tomorrow but had to defer til next year. Xx

Lmcc88 · 10/09/2022 09:57

@Skylark1990 thank you so much for your recommendations I’ll definitely look into this!

@MooBugz thank you! I’ll try to prepare as much as possible and hope that everything goes smoothly!

hope everyone is doing ok!

Rubes1234 · 10/09/2022 20:56

Hey everyone.

I can’t remember who asked but I am 31. Second pregnancy, first baby hopefully!

We went for a gender scan today @17+3 and we were told we are having a little girl! I’m still waiting for the 20 week scan to confirm before we tell family but it’s so exciting! Fingers crossed!

@doingitalllagain I can’t even imagine how hard yesterday must have been for you! Sending lots of hugs! Your a brave cookie! I also think we are super close in dates! What’s your due date?

Im also an absolute crank at any kind of exerting daily task. I feel like I do the most menial thing and then I need a nap. It’s starting to get annoying as I need to do so much! 😅

MooBugz · 11/09/2022 09:15

Happy Sunday everyone!

My hormones have been in overdrive this past week I seem to have cried so much and overreacting/over sensitive about things. I do think part of what's been playing on my mind is my baby that didn't make it would have been sue over the next week and it makes me really sad.

We agreed to go to a friends kids party next weekend but really cba going so need to think of an excuse. We aren't the closest but at the same time I've already said I wild take my kids along a week ago 😬 should have just declined lol

Hope everyone else is doing good, can you believe we are getting to the halfway mark ladies it's been a hard heavy getting here for most of us X

@RedElleJ conceiving after mc, while really fortunate to conceive so soon after, must be tough as you say, you probably feel eternally pregnant. Sending you Flowers

At 30/31 you have heaps of time, I'm jealous! I had DD at 36. We got married when I was 31 but it was a long journey and I lost my dad which made me emotionally able to try for a while. Looking back I wish we could have started sooner though.

Haha I wanted twins until I had DD and realised how I could barely cope with 1! 😂
I'm hoping she will be a helpful big sister at the grand old age of 3 + 2 months though...

WonderWoop · 12/09/2022 08:02

@MooBugz sorry to hear about feeling low, be kind to yourself right now

STom2 · 12/09/2022 08:43

@WonderWoop I used to feel the same about wanting twins (run in my family), until I had DS. Then realised I'd have lost my mind 🙃 Think my age is a factor though. Ie if I'd had twins in my 20s I probably wouldn't be as tired all the time!

doingitalllagain · 12/09/2022 10:14

I am seeing my midwife this afternoon and it can't come soon enough, she's lovely and is checking the hb for me so I can avoid forking out for yet another private scan. I'm not feeling pregnant and no movement for a week nearly now, I feel like my bump has shrunk too and after last time being at this stage is worrying in itself so I'm hoping she can tell me all is well but got a horrible feeling of history repeating itself! argh!

OceanbreezeSun · 12/09/2022 10:48

@MooBugz I hope you are feeling ok, we all have the hormonal moments, but it’s to be expected that you will feel sad around the time your baby will have been due. I hope this week is a better one❤️

We have the 20 week scan this Thursday, just hoping all is ok. We are going to find out the gender too, I was contemplating not finding out but who am I kidding, I can’t wait! 😆We are excited and it’s still a surprise whether we find out this week or at birth!

@doingitalllagain
I hope your midwife appointment goes ok, I know it must be such an anxious time, thinking about what has happened in the past. I’m really hoping all is ok, you will soon hear baby’s hb ❤️

Scorpio8 · 12/09/2022 12:08

@doingitalllagain

I know that feeling but will wait until my scan now. But I do feel odd movement hopefully that's what it is not wind.
I am kind of done worrying all the time as many people say baby doesn't move all the time.
Sometimes no sympathy on pregnancy section

I wish you good luck with your appointment.

It is so hard isn't it. I keep telling myself I'm done worrying but it creeps back in every time. It's annoying as I know it's normal to not feel movements yet, it's just this bad feeling I keep getting and convince myself it's my body telling me the baby has died this time as I was blissfully unaware last time. I know realistically it's just anxiety, but argh!

Scorpio8 · 12/09/2022 12:41

@doingitalllagain

I totally get and even with all the reassurance something keeps telling you something not right.
Try keeping it out of your head until appointment. Go there try be positive. I was like this at 12 wk scan went a long was terrified something was wrong but everything was fine. Then I was okay but since then other stuff happened and worried again. But trying to be positive got some unhelpful comments not on this thread but others I posted so keep my mouth shut and pray everything okay.

MooBugz · 12/09/2022 13:59

Good luck @doingitalllagain @OceanbreezeSun with your appointments today.

One step at a time we'll get there 🌈
