Hello everyone!

I am so sorry for the silence...I couldn't remember by login and then I didn't know which email I had used.

I hope everyone is doing well with little ones?

I am however, never locked out of IG so feel free to drop me a message and I am happy to stay in touch that way :)

My little girl is 5 1/2 months now, we are having some sleep issues unfortunately so I am in the depths of learning how to break the feeding to sleep association and how to get her to stop waking during the night (she never used to) but other than that things seem to be going well.

If anyone does have any sleep advice that would be good.

Sending you all lots of love x

Lovely message @MooBugz ❤️
thank you for starting this group, it was a great comfort the whole way, especially those first 5/6 months.

Belated congratulations @Skylark1990 💖 I hope you and dd are well.

I hope everyone and their little ones are doing ok too

@Rubes1234 Time really does fly doesn’t it, the newborn stage goes too fast 🥹
I hope you are fully recovered from the gallbladder surgery😩

Ds is nearly 6 months old, he cut his first tooth recently, chewing everything in sight! Next stop - starting on solids! I love weaning, so funny watching the funny faces they pull exploring each new food. It feels like yesterday I was doing the same with dd.

Hi everyone!

Little lady turned 5 months yesterday I have no idea where the time has gone 😭 but we have been enjoying every minute of it.

I hope all you guys are doing great and that your babies are filling your world with joy. Just think how far we have all come from that hard journey at the start where we we're filled with anxiety and worry.

As this group has come to a natural end I bust wanted to thank each and every one of you that shared and cared. Thank you for being a part of this difficult journey and all the kind, brave words along the way.

We never did manage to create a WhatsApp group or anything did we! Feel free to message me if you wish to keep in touch via Instagram or something.

Have a wonderful life either way and thanks again you beautiful lot. I wish you all the very best 💕

Aw that's lovely I'd be happy to follow you on IG 💕 I'm so happy we all got our happy endings!

Ah @MooBugz ! That message is too cute! I’d love to keep in touch.

@Skylark1990 aaaah I’ve just seen your news! I’m so so happy for you! Very late and very happy congratulations to you!

I had the dreaded gallbladder out, all straightforward but the healing was rough and not being able to lift baby girl for so long to not bust stitches. That Was so hard. They ended up whisking me off to a semi private hospital though (due to no dates for emergency surgery at hospitals) which was very swanky. May request this one for the next baby. I say that like I wouldn’t be petrified all over again and join another one of these groups for actual therapy! 🥰

Hope all the babies are doing well and not doing too bad with the dreaded teeth that are coming in. We have two cut through already 🥹 time really is flying and these last two weeks everything just seems to be new and exciting but also crippling my emotions 😂 where have the baby’s gone!!!

love to all xx

Definitely @Lmcc88 They are all so unique that there’s no one size fits all, would be so much easier if there was! 😂

We’ve just reached the dribbling stage where she wants to chew on anything she can get her gums round. I thought 3 months was far too early to be thinking about teething but apparently they can start to prepare their gums from this age. She’s literally growing up before my eyes. When people say time flies it really does.

I have no idea where the time is going! My little boy was 3m on Wednesday

@Lmcc88 I decided to let her sleep right through this morning and I’m not going to be doing it again. 😂 I was laid awake as my boobs were so full, she woke up at 6.30am and I fed her but she guzzled that much she then continued to spit up copious amounts of milk all over and I still had to pump to relieve pressure. I much prefer a little middle of the night change and feed so we both get chunks of sleep and she keeps her food in.

She’s 3 months old today, where does time go?!

@ChangeHtotheP that makes perfect sense! DD was a little smaller than the babies that are the same age but definitely seems to be catching up now! I think it’s just a worry isn’t it? Deciding what’s best sleep or food and being solely responsible for that! Sounds like you’re doing an amazing job!

@Skylark1990 I know! Haha! We are so lucky boy loves his sleep! Lying beside me zonked on second nap of day already even though he slept from 12 until 6:30!! Yeah I think you’re right I’m scared of getting mastitis so I think if I am going to let him sleep I’m going to have to pump because I’m very full come that point. Dream feeding isn’t really working for us at the moment because he’s got to the stage that he’s so happy to see you even if he’s sleepy and just starts chatting and cooing away haha he does eventually talk himself to sleep!

Thanks guys! This is a crazy learning journey! Loving every minute though and good to have you guys for support still 💖

@Lmcc88 at 3 months I would probably not wake him probably, he will likely have a big drink to make up for it when he wakes up! If you're uncomfortable though I'd wake him as breastfeeding is symbiotic and sometimes we need to feed them for our own comfort if boobs are engorged! Or you could pump. You could also try to dream feed him so only rouse slightly and feed him while he's still kind of asleep.

My first never did such long stretches! You guys are lucky haha x

We’ve just reached the same stage @Lmcc88! DD still feeds every two hours during the day (she’s 2nd centile so still very little with a teeny stomach) but on a night she’s sleeping so well. It used to be until 4am, I’d change and feed her again then back to bed until about 8am. But this week she’s started going longer and I was so unsure whether to wake her. I was awake worrying checking she was breathing but she was just fast asleep. She woke at 5.30am the first time. I’ve started going to the loo at 4am and don’t sneak about like I’m a robber, I’m loud, in an attempt to wake her. 😂 I’ve gone with the theory that because she’s so small and needs plenty of food I’ll wake her and let her go back to sleep on me. I’m not sure it’s the right thing to do but this way she gets fed and we then get another block of sleep. When I’ve let her sleep we don’t get back to bed until gone 6am, by which time my husbands stirring and getting up for work. This might not be right for everyone but I have to get her weighed every two weeks and every ounce counts so I prioritised food over sleep.

hope everyone is doing ok. 😄

Morning guys!

Congratulations @Skylark1990

wondering if I could ask for a little bit of help? I’m BF with DS and I’m sitting here just now wondering whether I should wake him or not…

he last fed at 11pm last night and he’s completely zonked still at 6:30 but I’m not sure whether that’s too long to leave him.

He’s just turned 3 months what are you guys doing re feeding/sleeping? I am feeding every 3 hours during the day and I am setting an alarm for 6 hours at night but he seems so peaceful sleeping I don’t know if I’m unnecessarily waking him …

I then also don’t know if I should be pumping if I’m not feeding

Hey everyone! Sorry I'm so late to update.

We welcomed our surprise baby rainbow girl into the world on 15 April 💖 she came at 41+1, spontaneous labour, no sweeps or anything prior.

I had a really lovely straightforward home birth, it was very healing after the traumatic birth I had with DD1. Feeling very lucky!

We called her Luna. Hope everyone is doing well ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I read your post @MooBugz bit didn’t have a spare hand to type and then forgot to do it. Sorry! I had my first period at 6 weeks pp, I was gutted as I thought breastfeeding meant they wouldn’t return for quite a while so I definitely feel your rant. I really enjoyed not having periods so am annoyed they are back. I’ve found expressing so much harder now, I could tell I was ovulating this week as expressing so was sore. I’ve told my husband he will have to miss out on bottle feeding this week and when I’m in my period as I’m not putting myself through the pain (it makes my nipples feel like they’re being cut off due to them being so sensitive). Weirdly though breastfeeding isn’t that bad, it’s not easy but no where near as bad as expressing.

Being a woman is amazing, we’ve grown human beings but it’s also rubbish that we have to deal with all this stuff. Periods suck.

How is everyone doing? We had first set of jabs yesterday, I felt so bad as she really cried but it’s for the best. Made her really cuddly though so took full advantage of some ace snuggles last night. ❤️

Thanks @STom2 my mc bleeding went on for about 8 weeks and the gp didn't offer iron then so I doubt they would now and it's slowed down so hoping it's on its way out lol just in time for the next period with my luck haha! I'll get some iron myself that's a good point you made thanks 😊

@MooBugz Sorry to hear the bleeding is still ongoing. I've not had a period yet following my section as I'm breastfeeding and last time it was 14months before they came back. Is it worth mentioning to your doctor at all? I know the bleeding can be off and on for the first six weeks so it's probably to be expected that your first period would be all over the place really. Hope you're taking iron or something as I'm sure that could leave you feeling particularly run down. I know I needed iron following my first miscarriage as I bled for about two weeks.

Hi all, just going to have a moan.

I'm so over this body bleeding. I'm in day 10 of my period (including spotting for 3days) and im just fed up of the pad life! Also what's with how insanely thin some pads are these days? I'm a convert now I'll never go back I like the thick granny pads too much now the thicker the better I say.

I remember my bleeding after the mc went on for way longer than 'normal' and had to get another scan to make sure everything was ok in there. Then the periods after I bled like a tap (sorry tmi) and then when I fell pregnant I was relieved to not have to worry about bleeding for the pregnancy.

The lochia stage finished at 6/7 weeks and I got a few days break where I managed to book my wax and feel a bit me again. Only for the first period to appear days after. And here we are still going strong. I mean not strong as in heavy because thankfully it's pretty stop start so I'll have nothing all day then something at night or vice versa. Last time I had a 7 day period and that was it.

Just a rant sorry! And this is probably the only relatable place to post. Missing my pant free days 🤣

Apart from that we are doing great, two months today actually! 🥹 xx

@Lmcc88 sorry to hear you've got your first period too! I'm so fed up of wearing pads already 😩 I keep thinking is done only for it to reappear. I have new appreciation for maternity pads though! I find regular sanitary towels too thin it doesn't make me feel secure at all so I'm sticking to the maternity ones from now on.

Hey guys!

so good to hear from you all again! LO was 7 weeks yesterday! Time is flying by! Things are going well he’s had a rough time the last week with reflux but better than he was!

@MooBugz I got my first period too! I was hoping to avoid it for a little longer!

@ChangeHtotheP I second the getting out of the house … I’m always late for everything now! We also go to a massage class but baby hates it 😂 how’s your LO with it?

I was having to wake him up for his feeds at night or I was convinced he’d sleep through he’s now changed and is stirring every 3.5 hours … but at least I know he’s ready for a feed then

@ChangeHtotheP I'm using the sling far more this time around. With DS1 I only used it to go for walks when he was small as he hated the carrycot part of the pram. Only used it for the first two weeks. Whereas with this LO, from the point he came home my DH and I have both been using the sling. I use it primarily around the house as he likes the carrycot so I can take him out in this easily with DS1 standing on buggyboard . But I recall all too well with DS1 how limiting the contact naps can be in terms of getting anything done in the day. I use the IZMI sling. It's very comfortable and convenient. And I get so much done through the day with him in it (from household chores to being able to cook and eat dinner). I know as soon as he's tired I can put him in there and he will be fast asleep in mins. Even today after his vaccinations. Went there with pram. Got home, dose of calpol and straight into sling. He's been snoozing in there content and I'm sure the closeness is also helping him after getting so upset with the needles.

@drV Our sleep is also all over the place, some nights she only wakes once, other nights it can be three times. I’m hoping the longer sleep starts to get more frequent over time. She’s generally quite good and goes down again quite easily after a change and being fed so can’t complain. I love the idea of co sleeping but I’m such a deep sleeper it worries me.

@STom2 Glad you mention the sling in as positive way, I’m thinking of getting one. I can’t get anything done as she is a big fan of contact naps. A sling will really help me but don’t feel that confident with putting them on and keeping her in it safely.

I’ve got booked into a local early days class in a few weeks. Looking forward to it but also nervous about the whole mum scene with clicks and the competitiveness I’ve heard about. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️
