@STom2 I couldn’t settle my nerves so booked a last minute private scan, oops, everything was fine so I needn’t have panicked. We got to find out it’s a boy though. I definitely only make boys!

STom2 · 27/08/2022 21:34

@doingitalllagain Congratulations!!! Definitely a good thing to get the scan. Not only has it helped with reassurance but there was a lovely surprise as well. It's also reassurance for anyone else on here that might be worried about easing symptoms in the second trimester or the infrequency of feeling flutters at this stage.

MooBugz · 28/08/2022 11:55

Morning all! Almost afternoon..

Congrats @doingitalllagain better to be extra than spend the time worrying I say! I'm considering finding out sex after saying I wanted a shooter but only for practical reasons because beating has started early for me! I woke up one day ready to change the home from top to bottom much to hubbys delight, not! 🙈

Still deciding though because this for sure would be my last (planned) baby so a surprise would be nice 😊

Hope everyone's having a a good weekend, we've got hun strikes going on this week and again in two weeks so I need to try restrain the need to declutter until after then 😅

Hey all,

Sorry, I went back to work last week and it's been chaos - told hubby I wanted to quit yesterday it was doing my head in that much haha!

Sorry you've been feeling so down @doingitalllagain but congrats on the positive scan and finding out you are having a boy!! I am feeling similar to how you were - fearing the worst and convincing myself that despite thinking my tummy is getting firmer that it is all in my head or my body is still growing like it did last time because it didn't realise something had gone wrong. Anyway scan on Wednesday to find out, I should be 14+6 but shall wait and see I guess.

Hope everyone else is doing okay? And thank you for setting up the 2nd thread...I didn't realise there was a limit! xx

Lmcc88 · 30/08/2022 08:29

@doingitalllagain congrats on your baby boy news!

I have a scan this morning and I’m super nervous! I feel like my tummy was really big on Sunday but has now gone down considerably I think I’m just in my own head driving myself mad!

STom2 · 30/08/2022 11:37

@lmcc88 Best of luck with the scan today!

I had my 16 week midwife appointment this morning and got to hear the heartbeat. Quite an active baby in there that seems happy out. 😊

Gamergirl84 · 30/08/2022 12:26

@Lmcc88 good luck for your scan! I always feel like my tummy is shrinking, I'm sure most of mine is just bloat 😆

@STom2 ah so glad you got to hear a little HB!
My 16 week app is on Monday- I'm currently on holiday in Italy, struggling with the heat hoping everything is OK.

STom2 · 30/08/2022 16:39

@gamergirl84 Enjoy the Italy holiday! We were there in mid July, during some insane 40 degree heatwave (that kept breaking aircon units etc), and at the height of my nausea and vomiting. Needless to say it was not the most relaxed trip I've been on.

Try not to worry. All will be fine with little bean. These weeks are a tough stage as well as symptoms ease and we're waiting for those little movements to start. But my midwife even said to me this morning when I mentioned starting to feel a couple movements, to still not expect them to happen with much frequency for next few weeks. That they're still so small at this stage and they only need to turn round and point their limbs toward our back for us to not feel anything. But I guess that's reassurance for anyone who is only feeling little things off and on (like myself!). 👍

On the tummy side of things - mine always goes right down in the mornings. By evening it's out again. I recall the exact same with DS so at least that's one symptom that's not bothered me this time around.

Jumi1 · 30/08/2022 19:20

Hi All,

I am new to mumsnet but thought I would join this thread as I am due end of Feb. I had a miscarriage earlier this year and whilst I am now 15 weeks I can’t help but worry some days. It’s nice to know there are others in a similar position.

it’s interesting that you are all mentioning pregnancy pillows I was thinking of getting one but I didn’t think I was big enough yet to warrant using one.

Lmcc88 · 30/08/2022 19:26

Thank you @STom2 @Gamergirl84

scan went well, I think we have the laziest baby! Was cuddled in last time and we couldn’t get a measurement and this time was the exact same! They measured the head this time though so we got our due date (valentines day) and all looks good 😊

WonderWoop · 30/08/2022 22:22

Hi ladies hope everyone is well

15 weeks here today and another heavy red bleed at the weekend. So forked out another £65 for a scan to be told all fine and no explanation for the bleeding. I am telling my team at work tomorrow and couldn't face telling them with a big doubt in my mind.

Just need to accept I'm going to bleed continually throughout this pregnancy I think!! I'm hoping the next few weeks are the toughest left, once proper regular movement felt the bleeding will be easier to deal with!

It was lovely to see our little boy again though, seemed so much bigger than at the 12 week scan!

Hope everyone doing okay

WonderWoop · 30/08/2022 22:22

15 weeks... not sure what
I typed there!

WonderWoop · 30/08/2022 22:22

Agh!
Fifteen...

LittleLottle · 31/08/2022 11:06

Hi all, thanks for the new thread!

I'm almost 12 weeks which feels like a big milestone but still have a week to wait for my 12week scan. I managed to resist a private one at the weekend, I decided it would only ease my anxiety for a day or 2 so I will now wait until the NHS one! We've had 2 already though.

Still don't really feel pregnant except being tired, the lack of symptoms just seems like such a bad sign!

Praying this next week goes fast 🙏

Skylark1990 · 01/09/2022 12:04

Hey all just thought I'd update. Had my scan today and measuring 8+3, with a good heartbeat 💓 so a couple days ahead of what I thought! Feeling v happy and relieved (for now haha). Also very sick, taking the afternoon off as just exhausted and nauseous.

Hagster · 01/09/2022 13:06

Ah @Skylark1990 that's brilliant news, congratulations! 💕

Hope this week goes quickly for you @LittleLottle

I'm starting to relax a bit more, I'm now 16 weeks. Trying to let myself enjoy it a bit, since if all goes well this will be the last one, and I figure I know it can go wrong and worrying hasn't helped me before. Easier said than done of course!!

MooBugz · 01/09/2022 14:08

@Skylark1990 aw that's great news so happy for you 🥲 I hope that helps with the anxiety over everything a little.

@Hagster good to see you are starting to relax a bit now although I bet you never let your guard down fully! I had a check up on Tuesday and it still doesn't feel like I'm pregnant yet I think I'm mentally waiting for the 20 week scan before the excitement properly hits.

Also currently battling a sinus infection which sucks big time. My face flippin hurts and I remember getting this with my middle son so no doubt in housing another troublesome boy 🤣 waiting on a special decongestant from the doc he gave me last time at pregnant because as we alL know very little we can actually take and have to suck it up most of the time 😩

Hey everyone ☺️

Congrats on the scans everyone!! So glad there is lots of good news floating around.

I had a scan yesterday and baby is doing good. Doesn’t seem to move his/her arms very much though - no one has said anything I’ve just noticed. Do you think it’s anything to worry about?

Ive just told more people at my work, I work 1-1 with people in a physical environment so needed to say sooner rather than later but it’s out the fear into me.

STom2 · 01/09/2022 15:31

@Skylark1990 Fantastic news on the scan! And they do say that seeing a good heartbeat after the 8 week mark is a great indicator too.

@Hagster I know what you mean about relaxing a little. I am definitely less anxious this time around, but I think that's more due to the constant distraction with my DS. Last time it was first lockdown so I'd nothing to do but sit at home constantly worrying. Hearing the heartbeat Tuesday also helped. And I asked my MW about the scan variance from a few weeks previous and she explained it fully to me (different equipment tends to be used) so any remaining concern I might have had there is gone.

@moobugz I feel like you've had a nightmare between your own health and kids health. Hopefully it clears up soon!!

@RedElleJ Great news on the scan! Absolutely wouldn't worry at all about frequency of movement with arms and legs at this stage. I'm 16 weeks today and my baby app tells me they might only be starting to do things like moving their eyes (behind closed lids) or maybe having a go at sucking their thumb. They sleep soooooooooooooooo much in there so they can just be chilling when you're having your scans. I said a lot with my DS that he was a lazy baby (was oblique breach for weeks and never found any real pattern to his movements). Of course, my opinion has been proved wrong ever since as this child just does not stop moving now!!!!

Skylark1990 · 01/09/2022 16:20

Thank you all! Am very happy everything seems to be ticking along as it should 😌❤️ 🤞 so nice to see the little blob.

@MooBugz so sorry that you're feeling unwell - have you tried sterimar breath easy natural nose spray? Might give you some relief while you're waiting for the meds. It's just purified sea water and amazing for blocked nose and inflammation, totally safe in pregnancy!

doingitalllagain · 01/09/2022 16:23

Lovely to hear of so many positive scans ❤️

Today is my due date for my baby boy I lost at 17+5 back in March. Strangely it fell on the day of a check up scan with my consultant so we got to see this little boy today. I feel guilty in a way, but it made today a lot less painful than I expected it to be knowing that I'm nearly 17 weeks and that this baby boy is healthy and kicking. I have been feeling guilty for a few weeks now that we still hadn't spread the ashes, they've just been in a bedside drawer and I felt like we'd just forgotten him because of the new baby. Of course I know we haven't but that it's just been difficult. We are going to go and do it at sunset down at a little beach by our house and finally say goodbye. So mixed emotions here.

How is everyone else doing?

doingitalllagain · 01/09/2022 16:25

@MooBugz Funny you say that, I've just had a phone call with my GP about my sinuses. They are absolute agony, throbbing pain above my right eyebrow constantly and so much pain in my whole face if I look down. Apparently it can be linked to pregnancy. They've prescribed me some steroid nasal spray - I'm praying it works. Hope you feel better soon!

MooBugz · 01/09/2022 16:43

Hi all thank you for your well wishes!

@STom2 I know tell me about it! I feel like it's going to be like my second pregnancy which I found a struggle from start to finish and was willing the little man out haha. Another menace in the making I say!

@Skylark1990 thanks for the advice I'll maybe try that if the gp prescription doesn't do much.

@doingitalllagain oh bless that's a bittersweet moment for you today then. Don't feel guilty it's only natural life just go on and there's nothing you are doing wrong ❤️
And in the sinus issue that's it except mine is around my whole face and my cheeks are even red and swollen. I feel like I need a pin prick to my face to relieve some trapped air lol and the stingy eyes jeez I remember it all too well from my other pregnancy unfortunately some of us just have it. Hope yours eases soon I was prescribed the same steroid spray you speak of and have already taken the first of two daily doses and feel a bit different so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

@doingitalllagain so bittersweet. Hope the beach trip went well. Sending best wishes ❤️

Preseli · 02/09/2022 10:24

@doingitalllagain I hope yesterday went well ❤. You certainly shouldn't feel any guilt about not having done it sooner. I lost my daughter almost a year ago and her ashes still sit in a teddy bear on top of my wardrobe as I can't seem to let them go.
