Hey guys!

Went to midwife on Wednesday said I’d like to hold off on induction and see if baby boy came on his own. She said she’d rather I spoke to consultant face to face to
consider all my options.

Was there today, consultant happy to let me go to 10 days over. Got a sweep done and another one booked in for Wednesday if it hasn’t worked!

Fingers crossed for another wee thread baby in the next couple of days!

Hope all my pregnant mamas and also all new babies are doing well!

MooBugz · 11/02/2023 09:35

@Furbabymum15 good to hear from you and good luck with everything!

@Lmcc88 how are you getting on? I've got my elcs booked for Tuesday but still hoping to go before then naturally! I did feel start of some tummy pain last night and had a sore back all night but nothing intense so hoping that's the start and maybe something will happen before Tuesday comes round 🙈

Hope everyone else is doing well and our new additions too 🥰

So nice to see this update @Furbabymum15. This must be a hard week for you but once you’re through the 9 week mark hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy it a bit. Who am I kidding, after loss all we do is worry but sending every positive thought your way. 😘

@Lmcc88 Thats good news for you. How was the sweep? I have one booked for Monday and am quite nervous. She said it’s more uncomfortable than a smear but nothing too horrendous. Time to get my big girl pants on. Or off for the sweep. 😂

Fingers crossed something happens before Tuesday @MooBugz. It’s crazy how we have no clue when it might happen and have no control over it. I’m a control freak and impatient so this uncertainty is a nightmare for me. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lmcc88 · 11/02/2023 11:52

@MooBugz im doing good! Just not so patiently waiting for baby to make an appearance 😂. Hoping your little signs means arrival of your baby soon!

@ChangeHtotheP Yeah it’s more uncomfortable than anything! More so than a smear as you say as they are much further up. She told me she could feel my baby’s head which was mind blowing but absolutely nothing to worry about at all! My DH was there for a wee bit of hand holding but equally you could handle it on your own no probs at all!

MooBugz · 11/02/2023 12:27

Ditto on the control freak feels here @ChangeHtotheP it's the whole not knowing when isn't it 🙈

Thanks @Lmcc88 I'll take all the positive vibes I can get before Tuesday lol. Looks like this week will hopefully be baby week for a lot of us 🌈

Hi all, I have my pre op to.orrow before my elective on Wednesday. Anyone any idea what to expect?

Big congratulations to all the babies born so far in thread! Would love to know the names some of you have chosen! We're really struggling for boys so any suggestions welcome!

MooBugz · 12/02/2023 18:21

Hey @Gamergirl84 I had my pre op on Friday, it's really nothing much tbh! They ask you a few questions about medical history and routine questions and run down of what to expect on the day and you get to ask any questions too. It's over before it starts haha.

And you will sign consent to the op too and it will tell you the risks of the op etc just all routine but good to read.

All the best! ♥️

Hello all 🙋🏻‍♀️ can't believe how such a tiny person can keep the whole household busy! Me, my husband and my mum are taking turns to feed her and put her to sleep but still everyone is exhausted by the end of the day😵‍💫

She is already 16 days old! A bit relieved that she has learnt to latch on decently and feeds directly a couple of times a day now..

We have named her Gauri, which is the name of a Hindu Goddess and also means 'a fair lady' 🥰

All the best to everyone booked for induction/ c sections this week! Sending all positive vibes to you! ❤️

OceanbreezeSun · 13/02/2023 17:14

Ahhh, Congratulations! @STom2
I hope all is well x

@MooBugz Good luck for tomorrow! ( if baby doesn’t arrive before then!) So exciting & wishing you and baby all the best

@drV Lovely name💖 I hope you are both doing well.

I am amazed at how long it takes me to leave the house these days! Trying to get organised with a toddler and a newborn now that dh has gone back to work 🤣 I’m sure we will get a routine going soon!

I used the bjorn baby carrier today which was nice, little babs slept seemed to like the carrier & slept the whole time. We went for a lovely walk & got some lunch in town. Breastfeeding is going well so far, ds is packing on the chunk💙but gets quite gassy in the eve, so I’m just cutting back on dairy to see if it helps him. The children’s centre near me has a bf drop in clinic, so I’m going to pop along this week.

Good luck to everyone with your upcoming little bundles of joy, I will keep checking in to see the updates ❤️

ChangeHtotheP · 14/02/2023 12:23

Sounds like you are all settling in well @drV @OceanbreezeSun. So lovely to read.

I had my first sweep yesterday. Was as you said @Lmcc88, quite uncomfortable but manageable. What wasn’t as expected was the bleeding afterwards, there was a lot more than they should have been so was told to go straight to hospital. 5 hours later, lots of monitoring and another cervical exam and I was given the all clear to come home. Don’t think she’s in any rush to come out. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lmcc88 · 14/02/2023 12:29

@ChangeHtotheP oh no! Sorry you had a lot of bleeding! Glad everything was ok though!

my little man is the same no notion of moving! Due date is today and another sweep tomorrow …

hoping your little lady makes an appearance soon

STom2 · 14/02/2023 18:21

Good luck to all those expecting babies to arrive this week!

Can't believe our little one is a week old already. Still soaking up all the newborn snuggles. I forgot how nice this period is.

MooBugz · 14/02/2023 23:04

Hi all!

After no signs of coming through naturally the scheduled section went ahead today and I met my rainbow baby who turned out to be a beautiful healthy baby GIRL 🌈

So far so good, feeling a lot of different emotions at the moment and tired but very happy my little baby is healthy and here.

The ward I'm in I'm next to the most annoying mum she's literally talking to her baby about everything and it's 11pm so it's going to be a long night lol 😆

Good luck to all my fellow mamas and hope your enjoying this newborn stage to the mamas who have had their babies xx

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your beautiful baby girl @MooBugz so happy for you!

STom2 · 15/02/2023 21:14

Congrats @MooBugz! Hope your recovery post c-section is going well.

My DS1 has come out in chickenpox. Fabulous...

drV · 16/02/2023 01:34

@MooBugz congratulations on your lil daughter💖🥰

So a little update from my side.. my baby had lost 14% of her birth weight due to jaundice and it was a struggle to keep up her feeding all these days. Today I have been discharged from the community midwife team as my little girl has crossed her birth weight and is now weighing 2860gm 💪🏼 it's been busy and exhausting but it's worth it❤️

Skylark1990 · 17/02/2023 16:05

Congratulations @MooBugz so happy for you!! I hope you're feeling ok post section and enjoying the baby snuggles ☺️☺️

@drV well done on feeding and getting your little girl's weight up! Go mama 💪💪

It's crazy that nearly all the babies are here now! I've got my due date coming up next Tues for the pregnancy I lost in June, which is why I was originally on this thread. Definitely feeling a little emotional about it and will light a candle on the day 💞

I'm 33 weeks today, feeling quite uncomfortable but not too bad, still trying to figure out birth options! Xx

drV · 17/02/2023 17:10

@Skylark1990 so sorry for your loss back in June.. it's so hard to process situations like those! Glad that you are back on track and hope everything goes well for you this time❤️ 33 weeks is so much closer to the finish line! Keep hanging in there, sending all the hugs and positive vibes mama🥰 take care!

MooBugz · 17/02/2023 18:58

Thanks for the well wishes everyone 🥰 coping a lot better with this csection than k did with the last which is a relief but also gave me false sense of supermum mode and I'm paying for it at the end of the day with a hot water bottle and feeling broken bodied!

It's been a crazy week lots of ups and downs unfortunately there's always someone that wants to ruin a good thing isn't there!

@Skylark1990 I'm so happy to see you say your 33 weeks it really won't be long till your day comes too and that's a lovely idea with the candle too.

Hope everyone is doing good. And thanks for all the support we've had for each other since the beginning of thread 1. Couldn't have got through it the same without you guys 😘

Gamergirl84 · 17/02/2023 19:17

Hi all, congratulations @MooBugz !

I also had my surprise girl on Wednesday! 8lbs 2oz all healthy and well. C section was v straight forward. We were discharged today and now trying to get into a new routine with my toddler.
I'm BFing for now but night cluster feeding is exhausting and she's barely feeding during the day so thinking of getting some support over the next few days from the community midwives.

We named her Roberta, probably known as Bobby 🙂

STom2 · 17/02/2023 23:32

Congrats @gamergirl84!

I'm with you on the not feeding as much in the daytime. My LO sleeps SO much in the day. Which to be honest has worked well enough as its been easy to focus on DS1 more and then focus on all the baby feeding in the evening/night when he's asleep. I've had my DM here for a week and a half though and that's been a lovely saver. Will have to find our routine after she leaves.

I do find feeding lying down helps a lot at night, especially after C Section. There'd less getting up and down. I also had DH sleep on the side of the bed next to the cot so he could hand DS2 to me any time he needed feeding. Then I'd hand him back to place him back in his cot when finished. That is where he was willing to go in the cot 😄!!

MooBugz · 18/02/2023 03:18

Congrats @Gamergirl84 on the safe arrival of baby girl. I found that the ward I was in was dominated by baby girls that day.

@STom2 @Gamergirl84 funny you say that, hubby was saying just this morning that baby seems to have night and day mixed up as she sleeps so peacefully during the day but at night wants to party in between feeds 🤣 just be something in the air these rainbows are taunting us haha. X
