@Lmcc88 fingers crossed everything goes well for you too either way. I'm scared of induction and heard horror stories too and so have said from the start I'd be against it for me so I've got a C-section arranged for next week if I don't go naturally by then 🙈

@ChangeHtotheP Yeah, there seems to be a lot of horror stories out there! I’ll definitley speak to my midwife about the process in more detail as your health professional seems to have explained things really well and put your mind at ease! Hoping the sweep brings it all on for you! I haven’t been offered the balloon so I’ll also mention that too!

@Skylark1990yeah I just don’t think it’s the right choice right now! Even if I go 2 weeks late it’s doesn’t sound unmanageable but as you say it doesn’t make much sense to ask me in as early!

Keep everything crossed for me that he comes on his own terms

@MooBugz The horror stories are real. I understand why you’d do that! It also crossed my mind as it may be that an induction would end in a c section so considered suggesting that!

im hoping midwife appointment goes well on Wednesday it’s not my usual lady… hopefully she can explain everything again and let me know all of my options!

So nice to hear of babies arriving. Also hope anyone who has had one is sleeping better than these last few weeks! Tomorrow is my 1 week wait to elcs. Want baby out but equally want him to stay in until section date for simplicity with DD!

@WonderWoop I hear you! My ELCS is booked for Wednesday. Water's broke tonight and had to come straight to hospital. We had to get DS up from his cot and take him with us as DM arrives in 10 hours and our backup phonecall hasn't answered (assuredly fast asleep and rightly so!).

Hoping nothing happens for next 12 hours or so. Purely for ease of childcare. Otherwise I've to send DH home with DS as I don't want him to be here!!!

Ahhhh @STom2 this is exactly the scenario I am worried about!! We have no plan apart from the plan, feeling pretty naive! Wishing you a smooth run until tomorrow at least, waters breaking can still mean there’s some time yet. Sending love

@Lmcc88 sounds like a good plan to speak to the midwife, and do take a look at the resources I mentioned - they will really help inform and reassure you I am sure - will keep everything crossed that baby comes soon - remember totally normal for baby to come after 40 weeks esp for FTM, baby will come when they're ready <3 xxx

@WonderWoop sleep sounds like a fantasy right about now doesn't it I can't remember the last time I slept nice lol.

I've got my elcs next Tuesday eeeek Valentine's Day!! It just feels so sudden I'm very nervous about it all but also trust everything to happen for a reason. Still hoping I'll go natural before then so thanks for the good wishes @Skylark1990 but either way knowing this time next week we'll be meeting our little one is exciting.

@Lmcc88 csection isn't so bad I just have a bad memory of recovery from it, no infections or anything like that just a long ass time to feel like me again! Trying to get me head mentally prepped for that being likely again this time round so I don't struggle as much. As long as our babies come into the world happy healthy 🥰♥️

@STom2 hope you're ok, wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow and that your little one holds on until then! I've got my induction tomorrow too so I'll be with you in spirit even if in a different way!

The horror stories about induction make me so cross. I wonder how much of it becomes self-fulfilling because women get so scared that their oxytocin doesn't kick in and their experiences become worse. I know only so much of it is due to that but still, people need to think of how everyone is going to feel being told "oh an induction, hope you get through it" (like everyone keeps saying to me) rather than "oh exciting that you'll meet your baby soon". Rant over 😂

@Hagster very exciting that your going to meet your baby sooner! There are horror stories for all methods of birth I mean even if I look at csection stories I had nothing but positive ones before my last but I personally hated every part of it and found it a struggle so it's all relative!

The hospital phoned me this morning and I nearly shit myself because they had a free slot this Thursday and asked if I wanted it to which my horrified husband and me exchanged the same scared looks and declined 🤣

Hahaha @moobugz I am glad you felt ok to decline, I had similar last time, was booked for induction on the Monday then got a call on the Friday from the hospital "where are you, we thought you were coming in today" 🫣 no thank you I need the weekend to mentally and physically prepare!

Baby boy is here. Delivered this afternoon via very relaxed C Section. Took to breast immediately after. DH is here helping me out atm and DS2 is contentedly sleeping in the cot next to me. No issues to report so far (fingers crossed). But wanted to share the positive vibes for anyone else with a c section coming up.

Awww @STom2 congrats n the new addition 🥳♥️ did they bring the csection forward because of the waters breaking?

@Moobugz yes they brought it forward at my request. They were very good at honouring what I wanted. I could have persevered and tried for natural labour but I was mindful of duration spent in hospital / how long this would take due to poor DS at home.
