@FlyOnTheWall89 thank you! I had a swab done for thrush and it also picked up the strep B! Otherwise I wouldn't have known

blibbyblobb · 02/02/2023 12:06

@Bunny2006 congratulations on your birth 🎊... Ive jus had strecth and sweep which surprisingly wasnt as uncomfortable as i predicted... Im almost 2cm dilated, second pregnancy so let's see what happens.

BritInNZ · 03/02/2023 02:25

@FlyOnTheWall89 you must be just a couple of weeks off due date now! How are you doing? I'm 36+1 and the days are feeling SO long!!! I'm uncomfortable and tired/bored and it's also 32 degrees here 😭

FlyOnTheWall89 · 03/02/2023 06:45

Hi@BritInNZ ye I'm 38 weeks in a few days! I feel really well but I'm definitely ready for her to come now. Not sure I'd be that impressed to go to 41 weeks. I don't feel she is moving down yet really. Luckily the winter allows for cosy tracksuit bottoms and oversized jumpers which has worked perfectly. I can imagine 32 degrees is pretty unbearable. Is the heat making you swell more? I think I'd just spend so much time in the shower cooling down.

YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch · 03/02/2023 20:00

My boy was born today at 40+3, they've documented my labour duration as 3 hours 24 minutes and I'm glad it wasn't a minute longer Grin

BritInNZ · 03/02/2023 22:07

@FlyOnTheWall89 yep definitely very swollen 😔 went for a morning walk and paddle on the beach this morning - literally the only time all day I can be outside. Ended up sleeping under our aircon on the sofa last night! I imagine I'd be feeling heaps better if it wasn't so hot 😭 so exciting for you, not too long! I don't feel like the baby is moving down for me yet either. Starting all the old wives tales as soon as I get to 37 weeks 😂

FlyOnTheWall89 · 04/02/2023 11:25

@BritInNZ I have the say the uncomfortable sleep is a bit wearing. I just can't get into a position that I like. Oh I feel for you in that heat. I'm having a sweep if possible on my due date if nothing has happened before then. Ideally want to avoid induction but at the moment I fear she is very comfy in there. Good luckkkkk! Can't wait to see if you have a girl or boy!!!! X

Akmc · 17/02/2023 18:24

@YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch well first of all congrats to you and your son! Mine was born at 1am on 3rd Feb so we share arrival dates - happy two weeks to our little guys! ♥️ I hope you’re recovering ok!

blibbyblobb · 17/02/2023 19:15

Aww congratulations @Akmc

My baby boy arrived on the 11th, thank god smooth delivery to say i had my waters broken and so far PP recovery going better than previous one.. I can't believe its over.. But also glad.. That was one tough pregnancy.. Wishing u all a happy and blessed motherhood

FlyOnTheWall89 · 17/02/2023 20:13

I went to have sweep today at 39+3 but my cervix was closed and posterior. A bit frustrating! Anyone else still active on here and waiting ?

Akmc · 17/02/2023 22:53

@blibbyblobb so glad you’ve had an easier time thus far and here’s hoping that continues with sleep 😅 in the coming weeks! Very happy to have moved out of the heavily pregnant and uncomfortable phase - especially the lack of heartburn!

Akmc · 17/02/2023 23:00

@FlyOnTheWall89 good luck! With my first and second I went over, so I remember the frustration / you’re definitely on the home strait and are a tiny number of days away! 🤞🤞🤞

BritInNZ · 18/02/2023 04:16

@FlyOnTheWall89 fingers crossed she gets a wriggle on for you! I'm 38+2 and absolutely zero signs of baby's arrival. Like you I am also worried about having to go down the induction route 😭 fingers crossed for us both!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 18/02/2023 09:42

Just really keen to avoid induction @Akmc @BritInNZ but equally don't want to go to 41+5 which is the maximum here. 😢 the midwife said it can all change very quickly but she doesn't feel low at all.

BritInNZ · 18/02/2023 19:19

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes I'm sure it can change very quickly! I'm the opposite - baby is very low, which is uncomfortable and makes it even more annoying that nothing is happening yet. I had period-like pains last night and was SOOO hoping it was time but nope, no pain now and just shattered from being on edge and endless pee stops overnight 😂
