Hope everyone is doing well. When did you all get your 12/13 week scan appointments through? I’m 10+2 (due 14 Feb) and had my midwife booking just short of 2 weeks ago - anxiously waiting for it to come through!

I'm 8+4, not had my booking appointment yet but got an email yesterday to say they'd requested the date for my scan and to keep an eye out for a letter.
Seems to vary drastically based on your area. X

@ViVi1001 i got my letter 2 weeks before the appointment date. Will be almost 13 weeks by the scan.

I got it through around the time of my booking appointment. I'll be 12+1 on scan day by my dates.

You can always contact your midwife or the department and ask? I know we had no post Monday and Tuesday due to the weather so there's no doubt a back log of post so think it's reasonable to chase gently?

Hello again all. An anxious wait ahead as the first scan for this baby is on Monday (hence the early morning post yet again). Will spend the weekend at Bluedot festival so that’s a distraction at least! 😅 As I’m due 5th Feb (based on current estimates), I assume the first ‘official’ scans are going to come rolling in for us all now, so just wanted to say good luck… 🙏 💜

@ViVi1001 I had my booking appointment when I was 9 weeks, then called the midwife when I was 10 weeks and they chased it and I had my scan when I was 12 weeks

does anyone like guessing sex with nub theory? I'm not very good at it!

Oh, due date buddies. I’ve also been holding off joining the group, I wanted to make sure my NIPT results came back with no issues. Im 38 too with an almost 9 year old (plus 2 older). This one was a surprise and I was a little worried about my age as my doctor keeps mentioning it. Also the age gap is so big between this on and my last I’m totally unprepared for another baby!

Thanks all :) I called the maternity ultrasound unit at my hospital this morning and they’ve confirmed my scan date for 9 August when I’ll be exactly 13 weeks, letter is in the post.

Eek, it couldn’t arrive quickly enough!

P.s. is anyone else struggling with more and more bloating as the first trimester goes on?! I’m on the petite side and just look ridiculous now!! I wonder if the bloating will go down or if this will magically turn into a proper bump at some point soon…

Just had my scan! So pleased! I hardly slept last night, I was so nervous! All was well!

@ViVi1001 the bloat is getting ridiculous. My clothes are so uncomfortable but I begrudge buying more. Last pregnancy I almost got to 20 weeks before people start noticing. Im not even sure I’ll make it to the scan at this rate

Congrats to those who have had scans. I had mine and all was good, EDD 28 Jan.

I'm still nauseous and very very tired. I've also developed quite the bump in the past week (despite only weighing 1kg more) so I definitely have to tell work soon! I'm getting offered seats on the tube so def can

Cant keep to myself * much longer. I want to wait until the week after next because we have an ultra stressful week coming and my boss is going to have a headache when I tell her.

@ViVi1001 the bloat is real hey!! I'm only 9 weeks but a pair of my jeans already don't fit, surely that can't be baby?! I keep thinking 'oh it will go down' and then I remember I'm pregnant and chances are it's just going to get worse 😂 we have a holiday in Greece in a few weeks and I already know we won't be able to share pics until we let people know as it will be so obvious! And this is my first too...

@Aus84 ahh due date buddy! I like that. How are you doing? Have you had your 12 week scan and your screening tests yet? Mine is on Thursday.

That's pretty shit for your Dr to keep mentioning your age!

@Laurakiaora I’ve had my NIPT. My results came in on the 19th and my doctor was supposed to call me but forgot. The receptionist told me when I called to follow up that she had made a note that everything was fine but couldn’t give me the gender over the phone so now I have to wait until and appointment next week which is annoying. My NT scan is booked for the following week as I’m too busy at work to fit it in this coming week.

Definitely felt more sick and tired this time around although it’s eased a lot in the past week, morning sickness is gone thank god.

@Aus84 oh bummer! Could I ask if you had your NIPT done privately or via the NHS? My risk from the NT at my scan was 1/5000 when I had my daughter but expecting something very high this time due to my age.

The days must feel like they're ticking by painfully slow right now. Hopefully they'll see you ASAP.

@Laurakiaora I’m actually in Australia (I joined years ago so just naturally came back to this forum for this pregnancy) we only have the NIPT privately here. Cost me $425.
My cousin is an genetic counsellor and mentioned that having previously healthy babies indicates a lower risk of issues with future babies even as you get older so that’s helped ease my mind a little.
