I wonder if any of you lovely ladies have some good suggestions!
I’m looking for a holiday for whilst on maternity leave! We cancelled our holiday this year due to pregnancy and feeling so poorly and decided to go somewhere next year instead!

it’ll be September/October time! We’re looking for somewhere where we can stay near a beach in a hotel with a pool, or a pool nearby we can use! We’ve recently holidayed in puerto pollenca Majorca and split Croatia and loved both locations and the things there, just dont want to go back to either as love finding new places! When we were on both of these we thought oh they’d have been perfect places with children! We liked the look of lake Garda but then heard it’s cold that time of year! We want things to do each day so we could spend an hour in the pool in the morning before it’s really sunny and then some time looking around markets, exploring the town etc! We’d also like a few of the days spent visiting neighbouring towns/islands/landmarks so ideally somewhere with some interesting places nearby (waterfalls, other towns, cute islands etc) we aren’t into any water activities so aren’t bothered by places that offer these! Anyone taken their children on any holidays and have suggestions or anyone been anywhere which fits this discription? I also want to be able to walk out of the holiday and be right at or minutes walk from everything happening! Will do meals out each night and let baby sleep in pram before transferring to her back at the room!
thanks for your help ☺️

Anyone have their 20 week scan this week? Will u be finding out gender?

I have mine Thursday, not feeling much movement even though its second pregnancy, but keeping hopeful.. We will be finding out and im excited but scared too..

Daisychainsx · 26/09/2022 15:31

I wish mine was this week! I'll be 22 weeks when I eventually get mine. We're definitely finding out! I can't waaaait I just want to know, we have our names picked and I want to start calling the bump the babies name. Are you going to find out?
I've had movement but it's not consistent, yesterday I hardly felt a thing and today has been non stop.
I also went to get changed out my pj's earlier and the nipple leakage has begun!!😱 anyone else had this??

Daisychainsx · 26/09/2022 15:32

I just reread your message and you are finding out, sorry! Aww exciting! 🤩

FlyOnTheWall89 · 26/09/2022 16:15

20 week scan is next Thursday, I'll be a little over 20 weeks. No movement yet, but placenta is at the front so the lady said I should probs expect it around 21 weeks. We already know we are having a girl from our harmony test 💖. So excited to see her again

blibbyblobb · 27/09/2022 19:29

Im feeling movement today! Feels like kicks i can feel inside but cant feel if i put my hand there! 😁😁😁😁

Hi everyone, I’m a first time mama due Feb 22nd 😊 It’s my first time posting on this forum although I’ve found myself here almost weekly after searching ‘XX weeks pregnant and no symptoms’.. 😅 The paranoia sure does override any feeling of being ‘one of the lucky ones’ haha!
I’m currently 19+3 and anxiously waiting on my anomaly scan on Thursday! We’ve already found out we’re having a boy 💙 - no flutters yet and mostly feeling bloated as opposed to pregnant, hope I’m not alone in feeling this way. 😆

Hey!
Congratulations on your boy!
I'm also a first timer, due 23rd.
Anomaly scan on Monday and we're having a little girl.

I've been feeling little flutters since around 15/16 weeks, but definitely more clear now.
I was just feeling bloated until around a week ago when my bump popped properly.
I'm busty, so still able to hide it in loose clothing that tents off my chest, but it's getting close!
I'm sure you'll pop and find those flutters soon and feel a little more pregnant!
Which comes with it's own hurdles - I've had numerous meltdowns about how quickly my body is changing 😂

Good luck for Thursday! X

Aww lovely news, congratulations @Peonies94 🤗 must make it all seem so much more real!

lp14 · 02/10/2022 14:34

Thank you so much!
It must be so amazing to feel baby girl moving around 🥰
I haven’t been expecting to feel much since finding out I’ve got a anterior placenta at my last private scan but hoping in next few weeks they’ll creep in! 😁
Best wishes for tomorrow, as bad as it is I cant help wish the days away till Thursday haha! xo

Peonies94 · 02/10/2022 15:03

@Daisychainsx seems soo much more real now!! How are you? When’s your scan? Or have you had hours yet?

I thought I responded here but it's not showing up, so appologies if you end up getting 2 messages @Peonies94 !
I'm 20 weeks now but I still have 2 weeks to wait until my scan 🤪 seems so far away! I have been feeling lots of movements for a couple of weeks which is so comforting, but I can't wait to see baby again, and find out if its a little boy or girl!🥰🥰

Peonies94 · 02/10/2022 19:37

@Daisychainsx aww i loved finding out the gender! Made ot seem so much more real 🥰! Good luck!

Hi Everyone, I’m a first time mum from Southwark in London. I’m 22 weeks today and have not posted yet, as not very good with forums in general. I’m due Feb 8th or 9th depending on whether according to NHS or private scan:) having a girl and had my 20 week scan last week. All seems fine. Was wondering if anyone had any opinions on St. Thomas’s Hospital and their maternity care? Cheers

drpowk · 07/10/2022 19:35

@Agav Congratulations! There is a fb group but I’m too tired to remember who you need to PM just this second!
i have a few friends who have given birth at St Thomas’ and both had decent experiences. Like all maternity units it is understaffed, and so so so much depends on luck (complications, busyness of unit when you go in) so even in the best unit you’ll have your own experience. They have some of the best consultants in the U.K. working there though so I’d say you’re in as good hands as possible. The only downside is that if you do need to stay in longer that the private side rooms are EXTREMELY expensive compared to other hospitals. if you have a simple birth and no baby issues then it won’t be a problem, but I stayed for quite a while and was glad when a room became available at the Homerton.

drpowk · 07/10/2022 19:39

Hi all, have been active over on fb but not so much here. Hope you’re all OK. I had an extra scan this week to check babies heart as my DD1 had a hole that didn’t close up but all is looking well still. They said they might follow up when they are born.

Ive got consultant appointment next Friday and I am nervous as I’m completely on the fence about a second c section. I know everyone says a planned one is 1000x better than an emergency one like
i had, and I’d feel more relaxed knowing a date perhaps, but there’s part of me that wants to see if nature can run it’s course this time (I was induced early due to reduced movements first time).

Does anyone know someone that had a “natural” second birth after c section?

Laurakiaora · 07/10/2022 21:35

@Agav hi! FB link - fb.me/g/p_fMBN4nzqQKphS5S9/34oZYVrR?ref=share

@drpowk my friend had a successful vbac. My consultant said the other week that about 70% of attempted vbacs are successful. I desperately wanted one after my emcs ten years ago but the idea of having another traumatic labour followed by an emcs terrifies me so I have an elcs booked for the end of January

drpowk · 08/10/2022 06:26

@Laurakiaora - I never went into labour properly (induction went wrong) or dilated more than a few cm after almost 48 hours of them mucking about. So I’d never be induced again. I think my choice is see if I go into labour naturally or schedule
the c section. I know only 10% or labours happen before 39 weeks so unlikely it would happen if planned then.

Minichuch · 08/10/2022 08:23

Hi all,

New poster! 1st time thought about looking on here 🙈

Due with 2nd on 19th Feb - there will be about 8 year gap between the 2 of them

Agav · 08/10/2022 08:53

@drpowk thanks a lot for your reply, good to know I’m in good hands- ofc the odd bad luck can happen.. hope everything goes well for you and the Baby.
@Laurakiaora thanks for the invite, still new to all the posting on groups etc but I heard it’s really good to try to connect with people in similar situations.

I am a new mum, so not have a tonne to add here, but will do my best:) have been researching like crazy.

Daisychainsx · 14/10/2022 07:00

We've got our 20 (or rather 22) week scan today and I'm so nervous/excited that i had to write a post, to use up some of my nervous energy! I was the same for the 12 week scan... dread to think what state I'll be in when I go into labour 😄 can't wait to find out if its a boy or girl, I've had a strong 'feeling' since before I did a test and I'm curious to see if I'm right. Either way I'll only be delighted to know it's happy and healthy in there 🙏🙏

blibbyblobb · 14/10/2022 18:38

Aww @Daisychainsx i was the same.. How did it go? X

Daisychainsx · 14/10/2022 20:15

It was perfect! I've decided i want an ultrasound machine for my birthday next week😄😝 it's amazing the amount of detail they go into!

LiveLaughL0ve · 24/10/2022 08:19

Hi everyone. I hope you’re all doing ok and enjoying your pregnancy journey. 😊
I’ve recently encountered one of the less enjoyable pregnancy symptoms - haemorrhoids. 😬 I’m staying hydrated and eating lots of fibre but I’m really struggling with them. Has anyone else had them? If so, what did you find helped? I’ve got a GP appointment this morning as the pharmacist wouldn’t sell me anything until I’d seen a doctor but still looking for any and all recommendations. xx
